Today is a day for me to revel in my Irish status!
D'ya know why, lads and lassies?!
IT'S PADDYS DAY!!!
So, a top of the morning ta ye all!
...
Seriously though, today was bloody brilliant!
I was in the main parade in Dublin as part of a street theatre group. So, first off we get to stand in the rain and hail for three hours to get are costumes and make-up ready, and believe me with the charming Irish weather, it was damn cold!. At twelve the parade started so off we went strutting down O'Connell St. and so on, we were representing the element of water for our part in the parade, so we had to 'flow'... An hour and a half later we finished up, uncostumed ourselves, got the bus home and I'm still now trying to regain feeling in my numbed toes all the while watching myself dance idiotically on the news!

Well, we had P for Project Compassion day, so everyone came as "Princesses, Pirates or Paupers". There were a lot of green pirates, though. Otherwise, I think the Irish pubs had a roaring trade and that's it. Nothing else really happens on St. Pat's over here.
