Appearance Description: Ren has smooth pale skin with very light {you'd have to look at him close up to notice} freckles that spread over his face and all across his body. He has a small, but slender and fit body, and only reaches about 5'4" 1/2 feet and weighs about 117 lbs so he's very light on his feet. He has fluffy looking pale pink/lavender hair that often looks like he's just gotten out of bed, and is usually pinned back with various hairpins, and wide energetic eyes of the same hue, his face is rounded with very soft features. He likes to wear various styles of clothing, but mostly he prefers loose and comfortable fitting outfits like t-shirts and shorts, or traditional Japanese style clothes such as kimonos but only on occasion.

Personality: Ren is a very cheerful and energetic boy, he likes to see the glass as half full so to speak. He can be a bit hyperactive at times, not really having much patience with sitting still and usually does athletic things to burn off his energy. His family has affectionately called him a monkey boy since he loves climbing and swinging on trees and is very graceful and acrobatic as he does it. He can be very expressive and it can take a lot to bring him down. Normally he likes to avoid conflict, though if backed into a corner he will not hesitate to protect himself. He's very social and loves making friends with just about anybody as he is very non-judgemental. He hates to see people sad and takes it upon himself to see a smile on their face even if it means making himself look silly. However don't think that this boy doesn't have a temper because man does he, if he feels like someone has been wronged or if someone has tried to take him for a fool he will not let it slide, he can become volatile if provoked, but that doesn't happen too often as he doesn't like for negativity to be a major part of life. He has a tendency to converse with ghosts anywhere including public, he knows to a stranger it might look as if he's speaking to himself, but he really doesn't care. Finally he is above all else, a truthful and trustworthy person, tell him a secret and he'll carry it to
the grave. He likes reading, listening to music and singing, swimming or anything athletic, taking naps, being outside in nature and climbing trees. Eating sweets, cute animals, drawing, star gazing and talking to people whether they're alive or dead. He dislikes rainy days, being woken up really early {like as early as 5 am} and can be real crabby if woken up. He also dislikes spicy foods, the color yellow, rude, unpleasant and overly negative people, peaches {as he is allergic to them} and bugs.
History: Ren was born into a long line of spirit mediums through his mother and because of that spent most of his young life training in his family's compound. He only ever saw his father over the summer and winter. When he would visit him, his father would take some time out to teach him either fighting techniques or how to use different weapons as he runs his own dojo. He was seen as quite the prodigy among his family members what with his ease of summoning a spirit and easily communing with them. Later in life however this would prove to also be a problem as his strong sixth sense leaves his body quite vulnerable to malevolent spirits that can overtake him. After one such incident in which he had to be pinned down while the spirit was exorcised, his grandmother; the head of the family, crafted a charm for him to wear that would make it more difficult for a spirit to possess him on it's own. This charm is in the form of a choker with a golden bell that he wears at all times. Up until now he was home schooled but really wanted to go out into the world, so after doing some research on boarding schools and convincing his mom to let him attend one, she agreed only on the condition that she chose it. He readily accepted and soon she had picked a school where she felt he would easily fit in.

Weapons/ Tools: Kusarigama and a concealed dagger
Abilities: Agile and flexible, has quick wit and has mastered the art of stealth. No combat ready magical abilities to speak of.
Combat Style: Ren fights with his martial arts abilities if it's normal hand to hand combat usually using his opponents size against them. If weapons come into play he uses his speed and precision with his dagger or kusarigama to swiftly take down his enemy.
Strengths: Due to his active lifestyle Ren has a great physical condition, since he's small he can be very fast and light on his feet and is naturally very flexible. He can keep a very level head in a tough situation and can play mediator between people.
Weaknesses: His attention span isn't the best and he tends to drift off into his own world at times which can leave him in a vulnerable position. His natural curiosity can get him into trouble and he has a tendency to be too trusting.
