I think you'll appreciate this... my screen name is actually the name of my very first LARP character, a secret agent in Vampire: The Masquerade!

Alias: Fake Name
Facade: Fake Face

Best cover name EVAH!
Been using it online and off now for 16 years... jeeze, the name is old enough to play in a larp all on it's own, now!

Which LARP were you apart of?

It was a Minds Eye Theater edition of Vampire the Masquerade hosted by the Imagination Shop Theater Guild, an group independent of the Camarilla Fan Club that met weekly in downtown San Rafael, north of San Francisco, that regularly visited many of the local Cam games. What LARP were you in this weekend?

I attend Underworld LARP. I'm currently a Ralinwood player in London ON. It is set in medieval times during the many years of folk lore, however, folk lore happens to be sorta possible. You can be a Fairy (In our case they are known as Fae), Orc, Einher (Human Scottish hybrid with lots of strength), Ajanti (I play this one. Think Gypsy), High/Wild/Dark/Ice Elf. It has a lot of excellent story. A 18+ LARP that is literally a horror flick. You spend the whole weekend praying that you are not going to die. We meet at a camp site, and rp, go on missions, trade, ect.

I've heard good things about that style of RP, and have been interested in checking one out for some time but I'm never sure if I'm going to be able to dedicate time/money enough to make it worthwhile now that I'm so bogged down in with the mundane. How did you do?

I am not strong enough of a fighter, nor do I have the Armour to be jumping into battle. I ran like there was no tomorrow. My store and trade did exceptionally well. I really enjoyed it. I NPCed, which means I got to experience what it felt like to be a monster. There was some crazy s**t going on with farmers turning to stone and becoming a pile of rotten flesh. It really does play on your fear. Smoke Bombs were used. It is horror and it lives up to the expectation.

In the Vampire LARP I played in, we were in a big urban setting and so couldn't get away with stuff like smoke bombs without upsetting the muggles wandering around. (First law of Elysium: Don't Break the Masquerade - never let the mortals catch on to what you are! Look normal, keep supernatural stuff hidden!)

Any combat/magic was typically handled through comparison of character sheets and rock-paper-scissors. Does your game make use of simulated combat and boffer weapons? How did you defend yourselves?

Spells and Magic:
Spells and Magic depend on what you specialize in. If you are an Elemental Caster that caster that specializes in Fire magic will throw magic. Magic is thrown by white packets called spell packets. If the spell packet lands on you, guess what, your cooked. Even if it hits your shield. You still take damage. There is Elemental: Ice, Fire, Air and Earth, Nature, Necromancy (Locked until you get a teacher), Psionics, Healing, Protections, Sigil (Locked), Witch Craft (Locked), Fae Magic (Locked) Advanced Ritual: Gate, Ruin, ect.
Worship Magic: Draconian, Light and Dark. (You must have good connections with the Dragons or Gods to get this.)

Damage:
Damage is determined by the weapon of choice. If it is a simple weapon like a knife, rocks or throwing weapons; they swing for 1 normal. (Normal stands for it doesn't go through armour. So your armour will take the hit first). Medium weapons like Short Swords and Long Swords are at 2 normal. Heavy weapons are 3 normal. Now, if someone is hitting you with a spear, a bow or a Stiletto (Piercing Knife) They call body. This by-passes your armour and hurts your HP points. (So you can have 100 points of armour; it won't matter if someone hits you with a body weapon)

Magic damage. If a mage calls out "I invoke the elements to grant fire blade." For the next three hits you hit for magic. So if you are going after the undead, the only way to hurt them is by using magic. So this way, someone with a big sword hitting normals switches and turns to hitting Magic. (call is 4 magic fire)

Defense: Your defense is your armour and your ability to use your weapon to block. Leather gives you 1 point of armour per location covered. It is the most useless piece of armour to have. studded leather is 2 points. Chain mail is 3 points and plate is 4 points. A full body of plate mail. (head to toe) is 120 points of armour. If someone is using a body weapon. Your armour means nothing. seriously. But it helps to make you a little less squishy.

There is lots of ways to die in Underworld. If your really interested, I'll direct you to the official Larp website because it explains this so much easier.

Zero the Crimson:
I got Zero from Megaman and Crimson because my favorite color is red and I like the sound of that particular shade and then to give it a more knightly title, I suppose, I added "the" in between.

I don't quite remember my reasoning for "blackcat" (or why it's one word), but probably because I think black cats are cool. I had a minor obsession with the TV show Huntik when I joined, and I have absolutely no clue why I put a "the" in there.
I've been considering changing it but I'm too lazy to. And I've gotten attached to it.

I read a LBGT youth novel many years ago, called "Keeping You a Secret", and wanted to use it for my book report (highschool, about 13/14 years old), and was told no by my teacher, as it was too controversial a topic apparently. Being gay, this really made me angry, and it was around then I was making my gaia account - one of the characters wears an "I AM - ARE YOU?" pin, as in "I am gay - are you?" and its part of a LBGT rights thing in the novel... anyway, it really stuck with me for some reason, so now this is my username...

My username used to be Kikyo Hatake but I got flamed on zOMG heaps for it so I changed it to a nickname my friends at school called me. It means Light Mama. I don't know why they put this on my. . . One person seems to think it's cause I'm so bubbly and happy. . But it's grown on me so I'm happy with it smile

"Xinitia" was the name of a Star Wars character I created in elementary school when my friends and I used to play at recess. My friends would shorten it to "Xini" or call me "Xac" after a time. The character stuck with me, though I'm called "Xac" on most other sites rather than Xinitia.

Oh, and just because I've gotten asked before, when "x" is in the front of a word it's pronounced like a "z". So "Xinitia" would be pronounced "z-ih-n-ee-tee-a".
