His father was strict and cruel, often pushing Hiro far beyond his limitations, and scolding him for his under performance. When Hiro was 10, he saw his father come home and mercilessly beat his wife. Hiro tried to stop him, only to be beaten down himself, taking the attention off his mother. This continued for years, until Hiro killed his father in his sleep to protect his mother. She found out, and was petrified, unable to even look Hiro in the eyes. She stayed with him and took care him as her love for her son outweighed anything else she felt. She died the night after his graduation to Genin from a small group of Uchiha insurgents while Hiro was getting his ninja ID and headband. He came back only to find a man stabbing his mother in the heart. He ran off as Hiro attended to his mother, as she died in his arms, her last words being ' I love you'. Hiro fell into a spiral of depression as he lost the only person he loved, making him alone in the world at an early age. Hiro was given a small apartment in the Uchiha district as a token of sympathy. The insurgents were never caught, but he will always remember the face of the Uchiha who killed his mother.
