 On the northern side of Sohmer City, things tend to degrade a bit. The houses start to look more like shacks, and the people in the streets change dramatically. They go from being high brow, aristocratic types, to more down to earth, loud and boisterous. All in all they are good people, but they can be a bit rowdy when inebriated. There's a pub on every corner it seems, and the people love to drink. The docks are filled with sailors busy with their duties. Try to stay out of their way, they are a bit hot headed. One dock in particular is always reserved. This belongs to the famous pirate captain Jack Swellow, and his ship, The Red Gyarados. Steer clear if you value your life.

  The beauty and aesthetic grace of Sohmer City was lost on the nothern side of town, and that change was nearly immediate to anyone who came this far. The houses were basically shacks and the people outward appeared less kind to more aggressive, loud and rambunctous. The streets very clearly smelled of alchohol and were filled with different sailors who were just getting off duty. As of right now, it was only Ryou walking to the docs with none of his Pokemon by his side, for the first time since he's had them. This was a very preciou moment.
He moved his red hair out of his face yet again and manuevered through the crowds of rowdy sailors. He wasn't trying to have anything happen before he even got the chance to challenge the gym leader.
And there it was - Ryou stood on the docks looking up at the ship and knew that this was it. It was a grand pirate ship, with many sailors and Pokemon going in and out of the ship with purpose. They seemed to be preparing to sail off knowing the Ryou was coming for a gym battle.
Ryou took a deep breath in and then out before stepping on to the Red Gyarados. "Here we go."
