The Fourty-Fourth Training Ground

The Forty-Fourth Training Ground (44, Daiyonjūyon Enshūjō), also known as the Forest of Death (, Shi no Mori), was the stage for the second part of the Konoha Chūnin Exams, proctored by Anko Mitarashi. Its primary function served as a testing ground for the survival and fighting skills of genin trying to become chūnin. It was a very dangerous place, filled with hordes of flora and fauna, often gigantic, poisonous or even more likely, both hence its name.

Hiro arrived at the Fourty Fourth training grounds as he took another look at the mission details from the assignment paper he received from the Hokage before putting it back in his pocket. Hiro was able to conclude that if the boy was missing still, he'd be here and not in the Serenity forest due to all the paths leading back to the main road. Hiro activated his sharingan to help him with finding the child as Hiro looked around to spot his chakra source with his glowing red eyes. So far Hiro had found nothing on the kid's whereabouts, which meant he was in deeper in the forest. This would prove to be even worse a situation for them as the various dangers of the forest are substantially increased in their levels of danger and frequency. Hopefully the boy was safe. Hiro leaped from tree to tree in search of the kid, coming to a stop as he found a set of foot prints in the mud as Hiro hopped down to inspect the size, and considering it was smaller than Hiro's, it was possible that these tracks belonged to the boy.

Hiro began to follow the set of footprints he found but it sadly lead to a halt as the footprints had lead to a more solid state of the ground, not allowing for an imprint within the ground, completely getting rid of his lead. He looked around for another clue within the area as he saw a set of bushes that looked oddly rustled. There were also a few broken branches on the floor which suggested that the boy passed through here. This also could have suggested that the boy may have been running away from something due to there being clear areas and paths to walk through. Hiro leapt over the bush to the other side looking for more clues, noticing a small shallow puddle with a piece of cloth within. Hiro knelt down and picked it up, and judging by the size and material it was a part of a shirt. The boy definitely passed through here and considering that a piece of his shirt was ripped off, there was a possibility he could find a blood trail nearby to pick up on which could lead him straight to him. Hopefully something wasn't chasing the boy as it would only further complicate things.

Hiro took a look around the area for more leads in order to find the missing boy. The cloth seemed to have been clean of any blood due to the puddle but there was a chance that he may not have shed any blood whatsoever. Hopefully that wasn't the case as the blood trail could help him find him.even quicker. Thankful after searching, Hiro was able to find a fresh bit of blood on a nearby tree trunk. It wasn't enough that Hiro needed to worry even more about the boy's safety but just enough do a decent trail could be made for Hiro to follow. Progressing through the forest even more the blood trail had begun to thin out even more, making it difficult to determine where the bot went to next as it had disappeared completely, most likely due to the boy covering it up. Hiro couldn't help but think about how the boy would feel reflecting on this later in life, hoping this experience doesn't traumatize him. As the blood trail ran out Hiro looked around for even more clues as to where the boy was.

Hiro looked up at the trees seeing a few birds fly by, trying to see if that could give him a clue as to where the boy was. Hiro's sharingan still couldn't pick up his chakra signature, which didn't bode well. Thankfully Hiro has been able to pick up on his tracks, getting him closer and closer to finding him. Hiro decided to try and see if he could pick up on more subtle hints in order to find the kid. He looked at the fallen leaves on the ground. There was a leaf from the tree that had been stepped on. Hiro picked it up to inspect it closer noticing it had a shoe print marking over it. Hiro smirked and headed in the direction that the mark on the leaf had suggested the boy went as Hiro noticed a few poisonous plants around the area. The poison gas seeped out like a leaky faucet. Hiro performed a few handsets and performed the Katon: Housenka no Jutsu on the plants so they could stop emitting the gas. The boy must have covered his mouth and nose and ran through it in order to nother inhale the gas or else his corpse would be here. Thankfully the boy had some survival instincts.

Now that the poisonous plants were all taken care of, Hiro was able to proceed onwards in his search. Hiro came across a small wooden toy that must have belonged to the kid. Hiro crouched down and picked up the small figure and placed it in his pouch so he could return it to the boy when he found him. Looking around for more clues he could find. He heard something growling near him as Hiro quickly ducked as a wolf had dove right over Hiro's head. It circled Hiro for a moment before running off. It seems its pack wasn't around. Hiro walked forward and a faint chakra signature had popped into his vision. It had to be him. Hiro sped off towards the source as he saw the boy sobbing, rolled up into a ball as the growls came back again. Hiro stood in front of the boy ready for a fight. However he decided it'd be better to escape without any chance to put the boy in danger. The boy looked up at Hiro as he picked the boy up and jumped into the trees, as the wolves jumped out to try and stop them. One of them was able to bite Hiro's calf, tearing a bit of the skin of and leaving a nasty bite mark as Hiro made it up the tree. Then he heard an explosion from below as his paper bomb went off, eliminating the animal threat. Hiro's leg was bleeding badly as he hurried to the hospital so the boy could get treated. This mission was a success and Hiro was glad the boy was alright.
