Things had really slowed down recently in Lamia Scale, it was kind of sad, but the guild master had no issues with being the only one around the guild. Samael looked upward toward the roof of the guild hall from where he was laying in the middle of the floor. It was clear from this that he was very bored and would do anything to try and fix that problem. Despite usually having lots of sinister ideas, lately he had no motivation to even plot. At the moment, this seemed to be all the master could do, it wasn't very lively around after all. "This is so boring..." Was all he could really say about the situation. "I need to figure out something to do... make that council worry again." Samael said with a slight grin before pushing himself back up to a sitting position. The idea of making people worry, just be his presence was always enjoyable. Usually nothing would come of it, but that didn't mean it couldn't one day. Slowly he moved back up to his feet and stretched slightly. His eyes looked toward the doors to the guild hall, almost like he was expected something to happen. Nothing did, but perhaps some fresh air would do him good, maybe a simple job or two. Samael moved over to the job board and began to look over what was available. Even he was fine with doing an easy job once in awhile.
"The council is run by a bunch of stuffy old guys!" Cat shot off his mouth, hoovering around. "Between the two of us being total bad-asses, who knows what we'll do next! We might considering doing something generous and uphold the guild name--stuffy honor stuff. But I think we should be smashing more stuff!" He gave that look of fire. "Lamia scale boasts the most dragon slayers, there's no one who could match us! I just dare them!" He started to throw punches into the air. "And that's why I'm gonna be the next guild master. It's about time an Exceed had a high station in a guild. Not just some crummy old side-kick title!"
Samael had looked over the job board entirely and noticed a few that seemed easy enough. Perhaps that'd cure his boredom? Of course he didn't really think that it would, it was worth a shot, back in the day, he'd have taken the job without even reading them. The thought of his past in Lamia Scale was rather amusing. Over the years, he grew as a mage and learned from his many mistakes. Being the guild master, he couldn't be as foolish as he was in the past. Samael sniffed the air slightly and noticed the scent of somebody who had similar magic to his own. His attention turned toward the Exceed who had started speaking out of the blue. A grin crossed his lips as he listened to him speak his mind very freely. "They are old, but they're not exactly weak, so, I do need to keep a low profile." He turned around completely and faced the hovering Exceed before continuing. "Keeping the guild name in good standing is always a good cover, considering I wouldn't put it past those old geezers to claim we're a dark guild too. Destroying things is quite fun, but at the moment, we need to strengthen ourselves." The guild master chuckled a bit at the idea of playing nice for the time being felt quite odd to him. Either way, everything was for Lamia Scale, so perhaps visiting all the other legal guilds wouldn't be such a bad idea. Forming alliances was always just a temporary process anyways and would keep things stable until Lamia Scale could indeed become stronger. Samael couldn't help, but give a cold glare to the Exceed as he spoke of being the next guild master and not being a side kick. "Your enthusiasm is a change of pace, but you think I plan on letting anybody be guild master as long as I'm around? For now, you'll just have to live with being a side kick... speaking of which, just what kind of Dragon Slayer are you?"

Cat about fell out of flight with those last remarks, weeping a river of dramatic tears. "After all the years of us being guild mates, you can be really hurtful--you know that boss?" Drama Cat is dramatic. The good part was that the drama never lasted long. "And I'm definitely going to succeed you! I'm one of the strongest wizards, plus I have good battle skill and I'm a quick learner--they should have nick-named me the Cat-tactician instead of Pendragon! But I guess someone as charming and good looking as me needed an easy to remember and tasteful name to match," He scratched leisurely under his chin while he stroked his own ego. "There's no one better to be the next guild master of Lamia Scale when you get old and decrepit, boss man! Plus! You know that I'm a sky dragon slayer--so I'm not only handsome and deadly, but I'm a healer too! You may as well name me now while you still have all your marbles and get everyone used to the idea." Cat was always full of himself--typical kitty personality.
It was a wonder why he didn't get into as many fights with other wizards. His bravado should have gotten him into more trouble--maybe it was the fur and small size? "That, or--you know--when one of those geezers kicks the bucket, you'll probably have to replace them and leave the guild to me. Or maybe they'll want me over you, boss! Then I could be your boss!" He laughed, falling on his back side and going into kicks and fits of laughter. the idea of him, little Cat, being Samael's overseer (if not superior) tossed him into childish humor.

Samael smirked a bit as he never had any issues being hurtful with his words. Of course with Cat's personality, it never seemed to bother him the same way it did others. It was kind of annoying, but at least for the time being, the Exceed wasn't an enemy. "Not like I was around here that much, always doing some kind of job." He replied before listening to more of what the cat had to say about himself. It was amusing to him that the guy seemed to always brag about himself, not all of it was just bragging though and Samael knew that quite well. "You don't stand a chance as you are now and wouldn't it be Catactician? Though in your case it's more like catastrophe." Samael spoke as it was clear that even his own guild mates weren't immune to his insults, though this was actually pretty tame for him. Slowly he moved over to one of the nearby tables and took a seat on top of it as Cat continued to ramble on. "I plan on going out with a bang, not from getting old though, perhaps after that, you can take over, but until then, you're better suited to helping this guild, but not as master." The guild master said with a slight nod as he didn't deny that it could be possible, but he should know his place for the time being. "I never really noticed exactly what you were, but we'll have to make good use out of that healing and you don't need to worry about my marbles, I lost those a long time ago." Samael said with a chuckle as his personality and willingness to do terrible things really showed through.
Once again, he glared toward the Exceed as he spoke of him joining the council if one of them died. The idea of it kind of made him feel sick to his stomach. "Heh, if there is one thing that I agree with the council on, it's that I should never be a part of it." Samael blinked a few times at hearing Cat bring up the idea of him being a part of the council and being his boss. "Please, I hope they do that, then I can take you out permanently." He said with another smirk as he cracked his knuckles slightly as he like the idea and would be all for it.
"Is that all our friendship means to you? You're so cruel, boss man!" Cat became a drama puss again. The catastrophe suggestion really hit a big blow to the exceed's extreme ego. And it didn't get any better with Samael's finishing joke--Cat would have to bring out the big guns! "Boss..." He gave the big, sad eyes. Sure it wasn't a spell, but friend and foe usually fell for it every time! If being ultra adorable was a power, Cat would claim that he's mastered it.
He was so sure it would work even with his guild master, he nearly missed a bold post on the job board: "Eh?" One of their own guild members? "Hey boss, what about a job together then? Something to really prove which of us is the stronger dragon slayer!" He put back on the big, sad eyes.
Friendship? That was a strange word to Samael, sure he had people in Lamia Scale who he had friendships with, but it wasn't something he just freely gave to others. "Friendship? We barely know each other, Cat. It's not as though it's not possible, but being the master of the guild, I can't give anyone better treatment than the rest." His attention turned toward the Exceed as he started to use his cuteness as a cat to work on him. Samael smirked a bit before chuckling slightly at the sight as the Exceed really thought such a thing would work on him like it does others. "Maybe when I was younger that'd work, but don't think I don't know everything I need to know about you already." The guild master said with a laugh as got back up to his feet and heard the suggestion made by Catsanova that they should prove who was stronger while doing a job. Samael had other plans for the time being and shook his head slightly. "Nah, I got a better idea, it's never a bad idea to do some training. Plus, you're the type that wants to show off, we're gonna need to know each others magic if we're gonna ever fight together." Despite saying the truth that he felt, he let his eyes close and waited quietly knowing the kind of reaction he'd get in return. It almost would make him regret saying it.
OOC: Figured we should train first since you can't use any of the spells you have until you train them. This involves going to the library first to learn about the spells, then to the training grounds to show off. XP Edit: That was weird, you we're quoted, no wonder you never replied. Pretty sure I didn't take you out of the quote. lol So strange, sorry.
Cat huffed up his cheeks and sighed. "To think I looked up to this guy once, He muttered. The whole reason the exceed became interested in dragon slaying magic was because of Sam! Cat always saw him to be a superstar of the guild--even when Cat himself barely had a hold of his exceed spells as a newbie. Really, Cat studied sky dragon slayer magic tirelessly just to get the chance of partnering with his living idol! A magic user who could attack, heal and support--Sam should have been begging to be his partner (in his fat, egotistical, furry head). And maybe that was the whole reason he acted so much like a child when Sam hardly gave him acknowledgement.
"Not like there's all that much to know about sky dragon slayer magic--except that it's the most awesome and I can use a bunch of advanced spells from that source, which makes me kinda awesome too. Exceed magic, Sky dragon slayer magic... I practically am a dragon! I fly around and everything!" He went back to his fussing. "How can you be guild master if you can't remember your own guild members?" He looked on the verge of tears, the big baby that he was.
Samael let out his own sigh as he listened to Cat, clearly the Exceed had looked up to him, despite him not really noticing. It's not like he wanted to be cruel to the other member of Lamia Scale, but perhaps he had been without really knowing. "Maybe I haven't really been a people person, there is a reason I've always done my jobs on my own. Maybe if I spent more time around here, I'd remember names a little better." He said with a slight grin as he remembered back on the jobs that he was horribly outnumbered, but still managed to complete them. Cat might have a point, how could he be a guild master if he didn't know any of his members. "You're right, I will attempt to do better as the master, it's difficult to just suddenly change, I've been a solo mage this whole time. Being the guild master is a whole different monster." Samael really hoped saying Catsanova was right, wouldn't come back to bite him. It was already said though, so he would live with the consequences.
His attention turned toward the Exceed as he opened his eyes and chuckled as hearing him brag about being the sky dragon slayer. "Oh, so you think sky dragon slayers are the best huh? I'd have to disagree, obviously. Though, second best is probably better for you." Samael said with a grin as he was teasing Cat, but also showing him his place. "I can make good use out of your powers though, so you are useful for that at least." With that said, he started to head toward the doors to the guild hall while speaking once more. "Time to go do some reading, it's a pain, but it really does help with training. You can come along if you'd like, I have a feeling that your shadow will come in handy." The guild master explained by the time he got to the doors. Slowly he pushed them open and sighed a bit as the light from outside wasn't exactly pleasent to him, but he was used to dealing with the annoyance.

Cat looked genuinely upset, sad really--poor kitty! "Good use? What are you talking about?" He activated his Aeria again, hoovering over to his guild master. "And training? I already told you I know all the advanced sky dragon slayer spells! Even the sky drill spell! I never bothered with all that hum-drum step one step two lower spells--Jumped right to the highest support spell! What else is there to learn?" He followed, frowning with huffed cheeks and a pouting expression. Poor little kitty kitty!
