Outside, Jasmine stretched out. "It took forever to find that stupid book," She groaned, putting a smile back on. "It sounds easy, but I guess all spells sound easy at the start of things. Bet the real thing is more complicated!" She laughed at herself. "So... Hm... Turning into a thousand petals--terribly romantic, but I wonder how much it would hurt to get it wrong; or even what happens when it goes wrong."
She hummed an thought a while, stretching out again before trying it. "Okay... The book said to focus in on your magic, breath deep, center it, and then scatter it." She took a bracing stance--just in case anything happened!
A deep breath, exhaled and... fwoom! It didn't go quite as planned... Rather than herself scattering into a thousand petals like the spell entailed, Jasmine was thrown by her magic when it was suddenly released. "Okay..." She grunted and groaned. Getting up and dusting herself off, she looked herself over for any injuries; none were there, thank the gods! "So apparently, faster isn't always better. Have to remember that one." With a flustered sigh, she looked up at the clouds--scarce as they were. "It's gonna be one of those slow to grow spells isn't it, dad?" A big breath in and out, it was time for round two.
"Okay... How do you scatter something slowly?" She took a moment out to ponder. With plants, it was never a direct rout. Never what you'd expect. Moss on a rolling stone, or a sapling breaking a bolder--they approached life in different ways! And learning their spells was hardly ever direct! "Breath in slow..." She directed herself. "And out..." And there it was! Sakura's grace was channeled and scattered Jasmine's body for a moment. "Okay! Getting the hang of it!" She laughed in victory.

"Well," Jasmine wiped her brow, "That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think I might be ready to try a tougher one." She place one hand on her hip, letting the other comb through her hair as though it was somehow helpful. "The book mentioned petrification. Green magic is supposed to be the sort where a wizard donates magic to plants and gains their attributes. Petrifying them, essentially is killing them." She made an unpleasant groan, wrinkling her face as she frowned.
"How do I go about that one? It goes against just about everything else in green magic. Which is probably why it's a more advanced spell! So what if I try the reverse? Take magic from a plant." She looked over at a thick vine, leeching off an old tree. "I should probably think of what I want before I go around trying to petrify plants for no good reason, shouldn't I?"
The breeze blew by, gentle and rolling while Jasmine mulled over her thoughts on what to do--what to make. It had to be something simple--some thing that was easy enough to picture and be useful. "A sword," She decided. Nothing fancy or overly decorative. Just a sword. A basic, bland looking thing--but it didn't have to be pretty to be useful! So, she walked up to the poor old tree, held out her hand to the vine, took a deep breath, and concentrated on her attempt.
"Okay. Sword... Sword... Give me a sword..." She kept focus, tying to drain out life and magic to make it solid. The vines broke away, wriggling and trying to take a form that was alien to it. Jasmine frowned. "It wants to work. I can tell. But the vines keep shouting at me that they don't know what I want from them." She scratched her head and grumbled. "What if I tried thinking about what I would want it to look like, instead of just some picture of what the name is? Vines like to climb and wrap, so what if I thought of a twisty-looking sword?" She thought over he own suggestion. "Worth a try..." Attempt two! And this time, the vines were more cooperative. They moved more easily and took form--they hardened into a looped sword!

After that break, Jasmine was back to training. And this time for more combination support spells. "Alright. First up is going to be tangled vines. Then on to pollen haze. After that... It's me trying to get in eight hours of rest and tomorrow I start making a name for myself. Starting with a few easy jobs around town and then onto much bigger things. Taking on the big stuff from the start is bound to be a flop!" She laughed to herself, listening to the plants around her. "That's a good point too. It's important for me as a green magic user to meet plants as well as people and build up a good relationship with them. After all, I'm relying on plants to help me out. Having them say no would really put me in a jam! In a way, I need them more than any of you actually need me," She laughed again.
"Okay, but now it's time to get back to being serious and training!" She exhaled and looked at all the plants around her. "Now, the spell said it gets grass, vines, and flexible branches to immobilize something. But I think, for now, I should try and restrain something that won't get hurt. Like..." She looked around, spotting a large rock stemming out from the earth. "Like a boulder! So... I just have to ask with my magic. Sounds easy enough." She focused her magic, aiming at the still rock to just get it tied. Her magic poured in, the grass blades grew and took hold of the stone. "Hmph! I knew I could do it--we could do it!"

"Well, that spell was easy enough," Jasmine said, almost patting herself on the back for the quick mastery of it. "Pollen Haze might be a little bit harder though... I'll have to start scouting around for bloomed flowers." With a sigh, she looked pitifully at the open space and its lacking in flora. "I might have to go closer into town..." She groaned.
"Hm?" Jasmine glanced over, listening to an old tree. "That way? Really?" Score one for flower language power! Trees knew everything they could see; and if they were tall, there was plenty that they could see. Miles and miles if they were the only one there--a group, like a forest, could share all of its information. Trees, of all plants, were probably the most informed. "I guess, who needs archive magic when you've got oak? Am I right?" Jasmine smiled, looking cute despite no one being around. She walked alone, following the small voiced of the leaves and grass blades until she came to a tree with strange branches that hung heavy with gold chain flowers. "Wow..."
It was like something out of a fantasy novel. "Guess I should introduce myself? I'm--" The tree began to mutter to her. "Well, yes. And no. The oak told me." The breeze blew, and the tree muttered again. "And what if I got you that spring water?" The tree whispered, joined by every flower bud there. "Yes--stop shouting! I can definitely make that trip once I learn this spell. The safer I am, the better guarantee I can make to bring you it." And all at once, the buds silenced--agreeing for the moment.
"Okay then. I need to know pollen haze." The buds stayed silent, as if contemplating the decision before dropping their pollen--which they did. "Okay..." Jasmine spread out her magic, thickening the air and finiting the pollen to a dreamy glow of haze. "So that's what it looks like. I'd hate to get caught in that kind of trap!"

"Well, there's a reason why they call it nightshade, isn't there. Injest enough of this and you'll be taking a dirt nap." Jasmine said, wondering further outside the training grounds with a book in hand. Setting the flower down in a basket, she sighed silently to herself. "I still don't see why anyone would mix one of these into their drink. Seems like a suicide attempt if you ask me. Or, maybe they're looking to be immune to the toxins. Risky business either way."
Looking back at the book, the scribbles she made off to the side. "Dad knew this spell. That's half the reason why we even had a garden! He used herbology all the time to help us get better when we were sick. And even though he had green magic, I remember he tended the gardens without it. That was when he was happiest at home!" She smiled, getting up to start looking for the next thing on her list. "There! Lavender. This on its own helps with inflamation and numbs pain a little. Mix it with chamomile and it cures most head aches."

"Oooooh! Black berries," Jasmine drooled. "Huh?" Berries were always kind of... selfish. And black berries were some of the worse! Why else would they have thorns? Apples don't have thorns! "Woa! Okay! There were some words there that... I really didn't agree with." And while the plant may have sounded silent to just about... well, anyone! Jasmine heard them clearly. "Hey! Don't you dare talk about my mother like that!" Apparently, this thorny bush was a particularly rude one.
"Alright, you know what? I was gonna try this spell on a puffed up and self centered rose bush, but I think now is a much better time," Which, for Jasmine, meant the shrub had crossed the line. "Thorns!" she extended her hand and used her magic to pluck off the thorns to throw aside on a dead-wood tree. "Try and stop me from eating now."

"This spell says..." Jasmine looked over the spell and her notes quickly. "Haze... cloud... pollen... poison... Okay! So it's like Pollen Haze, but with a twist. Sounds dangerous though... I guess--how am I supposed to tell the difference then?" She frowned, contorting her body from side to side with her notes in hand. "Grrr! How am I supposed to get anything done like this!?" She stomped and growled out in frustration.
"Eh?" A small voice chimed up. A tiny sweet pea flower. "How in the heck did I miss you?" Silence on her part. "I suppose so... But how does a little sweet pea know all about this spell?" Silence on Jasmine's part. "Alright. Fine. Keep your secrets." She huffed, crossing her arms and looking like a stubborn child. "So, walk me through this spell then. Will you?" Silence. Only a breeze blowing by. "Sudden flux? You mean with my magic? When?" The breeze slowly stopped. "Okay okay! Yeesh! I'm casting the spell!" She went on to start the Pollen Haze spell, waiting for her cue to give it a nasty twist from sleeping mist to a poison cloud. "Huh?" She glanced back at the little stem in the middle of forming the haze. "What!? Now? Why didn't you tell me sooner!?" She said with a frustrated growl in her voice. Leave it to flowers to be the ones to point out a late bloom in any situation. And so, rather than giving the haze spell a deadly twist of fate, Jasmine's flux of her magic just dispersed it.
"If I keep messing it up, I won't have any pollen left around to even try--never mind get it right!" She muttered to herself. Her green magic, after all, was completely dependent on there being plants around." and so, the next try had to be timed perfectly. It was nerve racking, but she got it--finally!
