Background information: Cháng lived an ordinary life as a human, she lived with her big sister in a farm many years ago. That is until she died with her sister when their house caught fire but recently a mage brought Cháng and her sister back to life but as jiang shi. The mage eventually died but the sisters didn't thanks to the seals on their backs shaped like butterfly wings, the paper on Cháng's hat isn't her seal. Her memory isn't that good so she writes down something on that paper like for example her sister asks her to pick up meat buns and Cháng writes it down then sticks it on her hat.

Personality: Kokai is kind and friendly, he is still feeling depressed because of a dumb choice that got someone killed, gets pissed off and angry if he sees anyone eating seafood even offering him a plate will make Kokai angrier, a bit of a showoff but he apologizes when someone points it out, Kokai isn't the brightest crayon in the box so he's kind of clueless at times to the point his train of thought leaves when he least expects it, and easily offended when it comes to his race.

Background information: Kokai is the youngest of his kind yet also rare, the Japanese mermaid. All his life he's been raised to distrust humans because of the stories about humans catching ningyo and not releasing them when they should so Kokai stayed in the ocean most of his life. One day out of curiosity, he surfaced and took a little nap under a dock only to be spotted by a little girl that promised to keep his secret safe if he plays with her and because of that little girl, Kokai started to trust humans a little but his family wasn't happy about him befriending a human child and told him the consequences if he was seen beached which made him worried about the little girl. What happened? Ningyo legend has it if one is seen on the shore, bad omens are to come which did happen because Kokai decided to nap on shore and a horrible storm passed by the town. What happened? The little girl's house collapsed with her inside, thus killing her. Hearing what happened, he fell into a deep depression and never came to the surface.

"The only time I trust a human...and it's my fault she's gone...."

Kokai blamed himself for what happened to her, his depression was unending. His parents realized how much he cared for that child, not because she was human but because she promised to keep him a secret so Kokai wouldn't get hurt. It took a while for Kokai to get out of his depression, thanks to the comfort of his brothers and sisters, but he decided to go back to the surface to disguise as a human despite his parents wishes for him to stay in the sea. So that night, he left carrying a bag of clothes his sisters made him so he can change at shore. Now 17, Kokai still guises as human but embraces his ningyo race and still keeps in touch with his family.

Techniques: Summoning his trident in both forms out of thin air which appears to be water appearing and bending into the shape of his trident.
Physical Abilities: Agile in his human form and a swift swimmer as a ningyo.
Magical Abilities: Heals in water, change forms, and summoning his weapon.
Strengths: Long range fighting
Weaknesses: Even as a ningyo, Kokai still is defenseless in water. Electricity or lighting strikes in water can potentially kill him. In human form, Kokai isn't good at close range fighting.

- Kokai sees consumption of seafood as murder, he won't eat it and seeing people with seafood makes him angry.

- Because Kokai is a ningyo, he's often hunted for his flesh which is why he's in his human form most of the time. In legend, if anyone eats the flesh of a ningyo they gain immortality but immortality comes with a price.

- Another legend that is true with Kokai, when they shed tears they can change into a human.

- He can change into his ningyo form in water, even in the pool or in the bath!

- Kokai is actually embarrassed by his weapon which is a trident, he thinks it's a stereotypical weapon because of his race.
