SINGLES MATCH! GOOD LUCK!
PostPosted: Thu Jun 19, 2014 4:30 pm

After the grand re-opening of ASaR (which involved fireworks, applause, and hectic commentary), the smoke had cleared and the ring was vacated by a lone ring announcer. With anticipation quivering in the crevices of his lips, the man with impeccable vocals raised the microphone to his lips after the bell had been rung. Muttered speculation and cheers overcame the audience; they had a slight idea of what talent would be making their way to (C)AWF, but the audience wasn't introduced to the entire roster. Anxiousness seemed to have been contagiously infecting the air tonight. Everyone was ready for this company to start off with lots of momentum and who better to set the tone than the first combatant to be introduced?

"The following contest is scheduled for one fall!"

A few moments went by without any disturbance or peculiar change to the setting; and then a thick darkness engulfed the entire stadium at the sound of the guitar. The nostalgic theme song had made fans cheer loudly, and by instinct. It had been nearly a year since Warner was put onto the shelf (mostly because of his doing), but thanks to the technology of his newest home and medicine of his BBW team of doctors, returning this early was possible. However, he knew that a few things would be re-aggravated in a match with the Man Called Boom. AJ was a man who had done his homework; after the year of free time he's had, how could he not? Despite how excited the atmosphere around him seemed to be, the amount of goosebumps they had combined could not compare to the Shooter's. Tonight was the first step on the road back to glory. If he couldn't prove himself worthy of competing at the highest level after nine long years, perhaps he was more fit with a cane in his grasp. That pessimistic theory would be put to the test tonight against the Man Called Boom.

The flickering beam of light shot down from the ceiling to reveal AJ Warner in his natural habitat, a big grin conveying his excitement to the crowd as their applause grew louder after seeing him. The kneepads were a bit thick, and surely they would impact his performance from being a complete one hundred percent, but to everyone in that building, that didn't take away from what they were about to watch. ******** injuries and other deterrents, the Suplex Shooter was ready to kick a** and take names right now. Warner scanned the crowd, nodding in approval of their electricity. There was a new feeling in the air with professional wrestling, and the amount of old veterans that had still been around had dwindled to a select few. It was AJ's turn to show the new guys how it was done.

"Introducing first, fighting out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, weighing in at two hundred thirty-four pounds.... A-JAAAAYYYYY WARRRRRRRNERRR!"

I'm losing sensation for you my love I fear
I'm losing sensation for you my love I fear
No more fear, no more fear, I'm in love.

I'm in love.... Love.... I'm in love....

His trek down the ramp was met with several extended hands, slapping the mutually outreached hands of their rejuvenated warrior. AJ had spent so much time loathing and despising the crowds he had wrestled in front of; it's what happens after your first few shows when you forget the ever-changing sea of faces. But after forgetting the feeling of coming out to a lively crowd with their support almost gave AJ more will to prove himself than before. After all, the artist formerly known as the Bad Chyld never needed to convince himself he was among the elite; he needed to convince the world that he belonged in their highest class. It would be hard to do so with his hateful rants that he called promos. This seemed to be a new AJ Warner, one of more determination and priority. He had not benefited from publicizing his street fighter's mentality, only giving more of a warning to his opponents of what they would have to handle. Besides, with age came wisdom, and AJ knew that if he would silently climb up the ranks of professional wrestling like he was starting all over again, he would surely be given his ultimate payoff: a legacy that was remembered by more than himself. After reaching the end of the ramp, Warner looked to his left, once again nodding his head towards the crowd next to him. He shot his head to the right and chuckled, asking his nearby fans in a short-winded question,
"Who's coming out on top?" The HJK, of course. The HJK always comes out on top, right?

I'm losing the reasons to breathe, I never lived
I'm losing the reasons to breathe, I never lived
Never lived, never lived, I'm in love.

These are my reasons the truth is never filled
These are my reasons the truth is never filled
I'm never filled, never filled, I'm in love.

I'm in love.... Love.... I'm in love....

Shifting his head back towards his left was the crafty old man headed for the steel steps. He didn't climb as fast as his anxiousness would show, thanks to his knee still being a bit frigid, but that certainly didn't take away from AJ's appearance tonight. He looked great. The arms had been a bit more toned and his muscles seemed a bit bigger than they did five years ago. The Shooter was in some of the best shape of his life despite the incomplete healing of his recently-repaired lateral collateral ligament. In the middle of swining his leg over the middle rope and climbing to the ring, AJ stopped his journey and stood back on the apron, scanning around the crowd with a smile from ear-to-ear. They were as prepared to watch him fight as he was to be apart of one. Warner walked towards the parallel set of ropes and crossed his wrists with his index fingers and thumbs up, making a 'W' with his fingers (they were commonly misinterpreted for representing guns). The lights had come back on, the music had died, but the anticipation and excitement of this crowd were red hot. AJ waited in his corner, stretched his legs, and tried to recite his strategies for his first match with the Man Called Boom.

BAM

went off a row of cannon-fire like pyro as Overture 1812 played over the loudspeakers.

In came the explosive superstar Boom from the smoke left behind. Boom beat his chest and raised his arms enthusiastically as the crowd cheered.

Making his way to the ring from Death Valley. The Man Called... BOOM!

Boom slapped his gas mask covered head repeatedly as he roared and hollered. He ran over to the ring steps and moved up them, launching himself over the top rope and climbing the corner. He raised his fists above his head, chanting "BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM..." as the crowd chanted with him.

The grand entrance of Boom was given a few brownie points by AJ for the orchestra-like music. Once the entrance themes for both superstars had seemingly made their way out of the ears of the spectators and wrestlers alike, Warner walked up to the Man Called Boom and extended his hand for a handshake. It was his first match back and a match he had anticipated to have taken place eventually in his career. These two wrestlers were bound to eventually step toe-to-toe with one another, but to be the very first match of ASaR's re-opening meant that they weren't the only ones who saw this match-up coming from a mile away.

Boom stepped up to Warner, a masked enigma as always. With a show of sportsmanship, he took Warner's hand and shook it firmly.

It was impossible for AJ to ignore the distinction in experience, but like a proud father almost, Warner smiled at Boom's display of respect. The display of athleticism and power Boom would show would probably impress AJ a lot more now that he was finally on the opposite side of the ring. The Suplex Shooter wiped his nose with the back of his hand quickly, and backed away to his corner. With the sound of the bell, an electric crowd would witness these two finally engage in battle.

not wanting to disappoint anyone, once the bell rang it activated the "MATCH BEGIN" switch in Boom's head. The enigmatic superstar charged like he was launched off a powder keg and came for AJ Warner, planning to force in a lock up and force the more experienced contender into the corner.
PostPosted: Sun Jun 29, 2014 10:02 pm

It had seemed as though the corner was a magnet to the back of Warner's torso; he had left his side of the ring once more, only to be outmatched by Boom's sheer strength and sent back to the turnbuckles behind him. There wasn't any wiggle room, and it would appear that size really did matter in this display of competition between the two characters. How could AJ adapt to this?

Boom used his massive power and momentum to force AJ into the corner. Holding himself in the power position, Boom dropped low and attempted to drive his muscled shoulder into the soft tissue in the lower abdomen of Warner.

Oomph. AJ skipped a breath as Boom drove the shoulder into Warner's stomach. Having to slow his pace down for his age, and for being a grappler himself, the Shooter wasn't used to finding himself in this position so fast. He had underestimated the Man Called Boom, perhaps because he was so awestruck by the fact he was in a wrestling ring again. Surely he would not second-guess his opponent again as the shoulders rattled his ribs and made him hunch over with each blow.

Boom slammed his shoulder into AJ's abdomen, pleased with the success early on. He stood up after a few slams and grabbed for Warner's arm, hoping to step back and yank the returning superstar into a short arm clothesline.

The discrepancy in time between the final shoulder being driven in to his abdomen and the attempted clothesline was enough for AJ to get a better feel for his surroundings. Seeing the arm come towards him, the Shooter ducked, but was still in the grasp of Boom. AJ did what he had to do and went for forearm shots to the back of Boom while he could. It was a necessity to escape that corner and get some space from Boom while AJ could get some early damage done on his adversary's back.
