He is immensely afraid of hurting someone close to him in any sort of capacity, it somewhat causes him to avoid forming any more than a light friendship with people for he fears he will let them down, hurt them, or in the case of his sister...get them killed. He fears making the ultimate mistake as it will consume him. He also can't take his own reflection. He's managed to look at himself enough to manage hygiene and attire and things like that, but extended looking will often send him into a fit.

✦Personality: Daniel likes to think himself a dedicated and extremely hard worker, doing his best to always make sure everything is right within his mind and often times to others. He's a good person, often doing his best to help but often ends up making mistakes due to his self wrought inability to think on multiple things at once without reminder and so he often forgets consequences, or what other things need to be done to make it work, though he is capable of doing a great many things if he puts his mind to it..just so long as someone reminds him that there are other components, or at the very least its simple. He has his quirks of course, but he prefers to hide them due to the trouble they could cause. He isn't quite battle minded, but he is not too opposed to fighting as long as the reason is right. He is capable of being a good friend...but who wants to keep reminding him about things?
Now, there is something within Dan..another part of him that exists the part of his mind that believes him to be a guilty man. This is the part of him that prevents him from really making friends out of fear that they will end up like a certain someone. The part of his mind that drives him to try and fix his mistakes, even when they don't need fixing. The part that drives him to near insanity and mental break, forcing him to agonize over everything he does wrong, everything he has done wrong, and everything he will do wrong. Its the ever present guilt over his failure that is actually what drives him to try so hard. Its something he simply can't let go. While part of him knows it isn't true and knows he's at the very least not quite the monster this part of his mind things he is he can't help but also believe that he is this terrible person, a failure, and a monster not worthy of effort people have put in him, the smiles he has earned, nor even being called human. It's often hard to tell which part of his minds in correct.
He feels constant guilt, but does his best to smile. He can't really tell which is right or wrong. He views himself as strong and noble, though he is tainted...a killer.

Daniel's life start out like any other persons. A child born in a pretty happy family in a small town if albeit to a rather large household filled with happy boys and girls from different families. A collective of orphans being raised among a real family. Daniels parents were very good people, a business man and professional chef who opened their homes to children whose parents could not quite care of them. It was a fine household indeed. Daniel got along with mostly everyone, especially his older sister who recognized his skill early on. He and his sister would often hang out together as she showed him how to cook from the earliest point he could and even taught him how to fight. He took quickly to these teaching and always listened to her intently. He took her trainings and teaching to heart, even if they never applied to him. His family was a close one, but his sister would always be the most important to him...she was perfect in his eyes. She always taught him that no one was perfect, but when it came to her she was. She was that part of the family that held it together and the goal Daniel aspired to be. Even when it came to using the neuro linker to have fun.
As life went on the kids would grow, learn, and have fun with each of them being close together. They were an army of trouble makers, creators, trainers, and friends..a chain that could not be broken no matter what. That is at least how others viewed them. They were odd too, learning things from different cultures on a daily basis in order to prepare them. Daniel spent most of his time crafting. The invincible chain was more like a tower of blocks that based on a design that seemed strong, but the removal of a few blocks could see it tumble in upon itself, and soon enough...tumble it did. Daniel just had no idea with would happen when he was only 13.
During one of their travels one of Daniel's older siblings [Telal] would come into contact with the one who would be the catalyst to the destruction of his first family. His older brother had become involved with someone Daniel's sister had warned him against and sent his brother spiraling downward rapidly. Everyone tried their hardest to stop it, their parents even going as far as to move them and aiding in the rebuilding of his life..but it was hopeless. He was too far gone and eventually he break away from the family who loved him more than anything and joining one who would only further his destruction and theirs. Drugs, guns, murder, assault..you name it and Daniel's older brother was into it. Daniel's Older sister [Hazuki] did her best to bring him back, but even she was no help. Daniel tried even harder, imaging himself as the guardian of the family and wanting more than life itself for it to go back to normal. She even went as far as to get him and his friends arrested and tried to put him in therapy, but that would pull yet another block from the tower. Gangs aren't really known for taking these things lightly and soon enough they struck out and one night when they were all returning from a movie they were attacked. Daniel, his sister, and a few others managed to make it but two of his young siblings were beaten to death. It would only get worse.

Depression would lead on of his siblings to suicide and another into following the same path as their older brother, but not lucky enough to survive. There of course were still those who held on fine like Daniel and Aoi, but the outlook often turned grim. Daniel father would fall ill after a trip and die leaving their mother depressed and feeling alone, even when she was around her loving children. Attacks on their family would take away a few more siblings before they moved again. Daniel was 16 when Telal got released and he seemed to be okay, but he wasn't Telal had only gotten worse. Things seemed to be looking up until one day while the remaining siblings were out Telal killed their mother after a heated argument. He fled, but left the body for them to find.
Something sparked in Daniel mind that made him resolve to kill Telal and he prepared for it. It took some doing, but eventually Daniel managed to find his brother not knowing that his sister would follow. It was a fight at first with Daniel simply trying to take Telal down, but eventually Telal got the under hand, and just as he was about to kill Daniel his sister came to the rescue, dying in the process which Daniel places on himself. Telal even felt guilt about this, never having meant to kill her. This allowed Daniel, in a rage fueled state, to take his brother down, but Daniel couldn't stop and didn't stop until his brother was dead. When he finally came to his own realization of what happened he was devastated. He was taken in of course and tried for it. The rest of the family was devastated with something hating him, other just...giving up on life. They all seemed to part ways...none of them wanting to have anything to due with each other. Seemed appropriate, this family was cursed.
Daniel left prison at 18 thanks to his grandmother and grandfather who shed some light on the situation and moved to Japan with with throwing away his real last name and taking theirs. Things calmed down, but Daniel wasn't the same even though he seems okay...even managing to get a job and go to college. He does fine, he smiles, but he wonders if he will ever be able to offer a true smile. He wonders if he'll ever be able to look at himself again and see the truth..
