A young citizen wandered the streets moving closer and closer to the Tower. Beautifully Broken had been saved from the fire from a building in the shadow of the Tower. She'd always been curious to know more details of the where but there were really no answers to be had in this rebuilt segment of the City. She sighed and pulled her messenger bag closer to her. So many other Audio about, just normal Citizens going through their daily lives. Her parents must have been like these. She wondered what kind of work they'd done. Such a strange world she'd come in to, her first words the part of her song that had become her name. She was grateful to Flashover and the family she had in her fellow scorched orphans, but creative and curious she couldn't help wondering what her life would have been had the fires never happened.
Still Beautifully Broken had a good life. She was an artist her specialty turning the bits and pieces of their crumbled home into lovely mosaics, but she dabbled in a variety of media. She earned some spending money from helping to beautify the homes being rebuilt out of the rubble where the Tower's workers had yet to reach. Sometimes with mosaics other times with paintings or just framed sketches. There was a lot of inspiration to be found in the contrast of the outskirts and the Center around the Tower.
BB frowned as she realized how little this world all repaired and shiny inspired her. There was a sameness to the order of it that while almost begging for a touch of art seemed to reject it at the same time. "What a strange place this is..." she muttered to herself as she walked along thinking, observing, and just taking it all in....

There were people who most definitely saw art in the sleek lines and moving parts of the City center and its machinery, and Nireill was most definitely one of them. It was just so cool how so many tiny pieces that couldn’t do anything on their own could be put together, and suddenly do just about anything.
And okay, she just really liked shiny things, too.
She’d been spending the days since her first tour of the City center mostly retracing the steps taken that day, trying to keep everything as fresh in her memory as possible. It was actually going fairly well for her- every so often she’d still get herself turned around somehow, and have to find the Tower on the skyline to get her bearings, but for the most part she was comfortably navigating the areas between said Tower and her current accommodations.
At the moment however, she’d been distracted by a shop’s window display- it was full of electronics, and several large screens were playing back a news broadcast from earlier that morning. (There was one small one inside the store though, barely visible from her place outside, that was showing a rerun of a cartoon she’d loved as a puppy. Three guesses which screen she was actually watching.)
She happened to catch the quiet mutter of someone passing behind her though, and it managed to draw her attention away. Strange? She’d never really thought of it that way, but then again she was too busy being impressed by pretty much everything. “Isn’t it so cool though? I still can’t go a block without seeing something awesome!” She’d replied before really thinking about it- hopefully whoever it was wouldn’t be horribly offended by her random input. A lot of people around here, she’d found, weren’t really huge on random conversation. Hopefully this wasn’t one of them, anyways.

Beautifully Broken turned to the other audio who seemed to have replied to her spoken thought. "I.. I...I'm sorry. This ... this part of the City is all very new to me here. It just seems so... " BB couldn't find the words in her nervousness. Here she was in a strange place, a place that she'd been taught most of her life was dangerous and now her was an enthusiastic stranger who seemed not only content but enthusiastic about the place.
She wasn't sure if it was safe to admit that she was actually a resident of the ruined outskirts, maybe the other woudl just asume she was an outsider. Curious as she was BB couldn't resist asking, "Are you from around here? It's all so overwhelming maybe I'm not able to see the... awesome?"

She actually got a reply! And one that actually invited conversation, not just a brush-off or empty pleasantry- excellent! She brightened up visibly as she turned to fully face the other female, obviously happy to have someone to talk to. "Oh, no, I’m actually new here too! My big brother and sister live here, but they haven’t been very good about keeping in touch, so I came to give them a talking to." As soon as she could find them, that is. "It’s nothing like the little town I grew up in- it is pretty overwhelming though, I agree!" She giggled lightly- it was pretty clear that she was delighted by that fact, rather than nervous. "I was really lucky though, the other day I met someone who took the time to show me around. There’s so much here it’s hard to remember it all sometimes, but I don’t get lost nearly as often now!" The fact that she kept to a fairly small area was probably a big help in that respect too, but she still found so many interesting things just in this little spot, that she hadn't really felt the need to wander further yet. She'd get there eventually, and then see all the things!
