Dec. 3rd, 2004
G'day mates, Irwin here. Yes, I've tought meself how to write, no thanks to my mum. Naughty sheila that she is, she hasn't updated my journal in a long while! I figured I'd take things into me own hands, or paws rather, and give all of you an update on what's been going on in our lives.
Mum Dora had to quit her job at the ice cream factory, which she's still in tears about. It was taking up all of her free time for a while there, not to mention making fresh waffle cones every day was burning the poor girl's fingers something bad! She misses the free ice cream, but she's happy that she gets to stay home with me and my siblings.
I had me very first Halloween! Mum dressed me up in a smashing khaki ensemble, while she dressed up as a ghost. Not very creative, if you ask me. Anyway, we carved pumpkins and went trick or treating, I stole all of her candy once we got home and I've still got the last bit of the stash left up in my room. I am thoroughly convinced that sugar is the most wonderful food on the planet. I make sure to eat as much of it as possible, although Dora says my teeth are going to rot out. Pfft, whatever Mum, like that'll ever happen...
And it wasn't too long ago that I experienced my first Thanksgiving. I was looking forward to my very first taste of turkey, but instead Mum brought home a nice, plump... Tofurkey?! It was rather disgusting if you ask me, had the texture of rubber and about as much flavor as well. I did enjoy the cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes, though.
Which brings me to today. Dora's been dragging me with her as she does all of her holiday shopping, which isn't much fun, but I don't get to play in the snow if I don't behave. There's not much on the ground yet, but it's fun to run in and even more fun to eat! Once there's been more snowfall Mum says she'll help me make a snow monkey in the front yard.
I think that's all for now... If I think of something else I'll be sure to write it in. Signing off for now,
