Nearest to the entrance of the palace is the Barracks. Soldiers are allowed to take residence here if they have nowhere to live. The Barracks houses an Armory for any Soldiers of Yuran.

xxxxxxxAnd so the young man would go looking thoroughly throughout the barracks in search of a certain someone. It had be so long since he had seen her. He wanted to see her again and had a good sense she was nearby. In fact, she was his parabatai. He wanted to speak to her dearly.

It'd been some time since she had last been here. For some time, Cassandra wasn't even active around the city. Not like she had a reason to. The city's militia had been broken in spirit several times. It was embarrassing. Aramilian soldiers came, pillaged the city, claimed it as theirs and then left some governess chick who had been fought off by some psycho lunatic that the king, to this very day, was still talking to. But a part of her wanted to be back, but for the longest time, she had been operating without her parabatai... Aureus. To have her parabatai missing for so long... after a while she grew depressed, drawing back into her home, shutting everything and everyone out. That's what it was to lose your parabatai. It was... gut wrenching. But perhaps he left because he felt he made a mistake in making her his parabatai and wanted to gain as far a distance as possible.
That... as rude as that sounded, it didn't seem too farfetched. People ran away from things all of the time. Their lives in general, love, friendship, work, family, commitment. Yeah, it was common. But just because it was common didn't mean that it didn't hurt any less. But a spark in her ignited as she felt a familiar presence. Perhaps it was another false alarm, her probably thinking that her parabatai was around when it was just some stranger. It happened once before, and because of it, some random guy now thinks she's super desperate. Great. No... he wasn't coming back.

xxxxxxxThe words: 'He isn't coming back' echoed throughout his mind as Cassandra neared his destination. The Nephilim had a strange Talent. Once he formed a bond - gained a Parabatai - he could communicate with them, like that of the vampiric trait. However, it hurt. He could feel the energy drain as such a thing was utilized. His head almost throbbed in pain as if he caught a migraine. 'Cassandra!?' he thought to himself with the utmost joy and euphoria. He had been, simply, lonely. 'Where could you be?' he thought to himself as he paced about. He could feel the strong, energetic connection pulling at the center of his chest. It was their connected auras...but he still could not pinpoint her. What he did not know, was that she could communicate with his telepathically if she had tried. "I wish you were here..." he grumbled beneath his breath.

It only took a single burst of noise coming from absolutely nowhere to completely startle Cassandra. Her name had been spoken... but from the voice she heard it from... perhaps she really had been going slightly insane. But she really hoped she wasn't. Just hearing that voice call out her name was enough to make her heart skip a beat. Once she heard the next few words, she knew it was true. He was nearby, and she wasn't crazy. *Wait, what?* Completely oblivious to the fact that she could communicate to Aureus this way, she thought to herself, not knowing that it'd even reach the man. Something inside of her made her move, not that she didn't want to. But it didn't take long for her to move within Aureus's line of sight. "...I'm... right here." She said breathlessly.

xxxxxxxWords simply could not describe the feeling that struck him right within the center of his chest. He, so overwhelmed, could not speak. Oh no; he just reacted. He took but a few steps forward before reaching out to the woman and wrapping her within his embrace. His lips placed themselves ever so gently upon her own. He had done much more than miss her. 'I love you,' the words would echo through his mind with yet another drain of energy. He did not care in the slightest.

Touch. It wasn't something she necessarily desired, nor did she really need it. Humans and other supernatural beings... their need to satiate their insatiable desires of the flesh always confused her. What was it about it that made it feel so... odd? A handshake. A hug. A kiss. Most people told her of a warming sensation they experienced once contact was made. A tingling sensation that either made them feel uneasy or made them feel bubbly inside. Cassandra asked if this was love. They told her she'd know if it was.
To say that she felt warm was... an insult to what was going on right now. She... couldn't explain it. The second Aureus placed his hand on her hips, it was like her body went numb for a split second, only to explode with an unknown sensation the moment Aureus's lips touched hers. But she broke the contact shortly after. She spoke up after she took a few seconds to regain her composure. "I-I'm not going to do this again just so that you can leave again!"

xxxxxxxWords hurt. Oh, lord, he had not a single idea how much more words could hurt than a blade. He attempted to hide a cringe, which was more than obvious in his eyes, as he did nothing more than look at Cassandra. A sensation welled up in his chest similar to what one usually felt when falling from extreme heights, or being flat-out scared. Was that what he felt? Fear? His jaw muscles tightened a bit as his pupils slid away from hers. He felt too embarrassed to look her in the eyes any longer. As hard as he tried to, he could not muster up any words. "I..don't..know..why.." Was all that slipped from his mouth breath at a time. He had left for military reasons. The same could happen again. So, he'd lose her due to his loyalty to his country? But, the more he thought on it, the more he came to realize what he was feeling in the moment. He felt scared and embarrassed for it had seemed as if he let her down almost completely. It was a dense, overwhelming feeling of negativity he slowly fought off as he realized why he was even feeling this way to begin with. In the beginning, he was loyal to his country. It was upon a mission he found his loyalties were beginning to lean more towards his Parabatai than anything else in the world. But, that's how it was supposed to be, wasn't it? This was why he had left in the first place. The young man had felt conflicted in where his loyalties had been. He wanted to know if he really did love her. And so, he had left after accepting a mission that allowed him to travel into foreign lands. It was upon this mission that he had felt so severally lonely he'd stoop to a level of sadness he did not want to admit he had: depression. He, originally, had thought this depression came about from a form of homesickness. It was not so. Day after day after day all the young man could thing of was the young lady which he had left behind. Even when killing monsters and hunting - or anything for that matter - visions of his Parabatai lingered within his head. He absolutely hated being away from her. All this information, all his personal thoughts and feelings, would flood into Cassandra's mind as he attempted, in some way, to reveal just how he truly felt about her. "I will never leave this city again; unless, my hand rests within yours." His golden eyes hesitated for a moment before making full eye contact with her own. At the same time, his gloved hand slowly reached towards her hand. His bare fingertips made contact with the palm of her hands has he attempted to gently grasp her hand in his own. A feeling so foreign ran throughout his body. Compared to his previous states of negativity he began to feel like a bright sun as heat literally coursed throughout his veins. His heart began to thump harder and faster. He loved her, and he did not want to move from her side. "I am right here - by your side - right now. I promise I shall stand by you regardless of what militaristic opportunities I must pass up in the future..." He simply hoped she would not turn about and leave after hearing what probably(to her) sounded like nonsense.
