Basic Information

Name: Shikitei Gengyo {Shikitei is his surname}
Gender: Male
Age: 246 (looks only 14 or 15 at the oldest)
Appearance:
User Image
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 140 pounds (so basically very scrawny)
Tattoos/Markings: All over Gengyo's back are the telltale criss-cross scars of one who has seen a hellacious and merciless whipping. The ages of the scars indicate that he was obviously tortured over the course of a couple solid years. Otherwise his skin is as smooth and flawless as a baby's backside.
Eye Color: The same smoky gray as his hair, it's often difficult bordering on impossible to determine where pupil ends and iris begins. When angry, sad, or feeling any other strong emotion, they smolder as if they were live coals. The stronger the emotion, the more intensely his eyes seem to burn.
Hair Color: Dark gray, almost like thick smoke and is short but shaggy and always messy. Despite this, Gengyo's hair is always thick and silky smooth and softer than down

Affiliation: Gotei 13
Position/Rank: Captain of Division 6
Personality: Although he often comes across as blunt, and kind of an a*****e, Gengyo himself (should one get to know him) is in fact a deeply sensitive and emotional person. Even if he does have a notoriously short temper. He’s a pacifist, and would rather die than kill…but he is also fiercely protective, and in defense of another, his ruthlessness is a truly frightening change from his usual self.
History: Our story begins, as these stories often do, with Gengyo being born to a relatively normal mother and father. However, that meant that they were exceedingly poor. Gengyo also had two sisters; one five years older and one three years younger. Although they had very little, they were happy and more or less content with their lot in life. Gengyo's father was an honest farmer, his mother a housewife as almost all women were during this time period. Gengyo himself was a soft spoken but beautiful and strong boy. His two sisters were beings of such surpassing beauty that boys and men of all ages, married and unmarried, were drooling after them, these two innocent and perfect angels.

It is at this point in our story that along comes a spider. When Gengyo was nine, his father became ill. Having no money to afford a doctor, they were all deathly worried that their only source of bread on the table would die. Thus enters the spider. A greasy man from the city came and made them an offer. He would pay whatever price for the best doctor to fix the man's health, and in exchange he would return one month afterwards to collect his repayment. What that payment was, the slimy dirtball never said, but he made it clear that refusing to pay when the time came would, in no uncertain terms, mean death or worse.

They agreed. The man of the house mended, the doctor received his money, and the greasy man from the city came as promised. His price, it turned out, was the woman and two girls. One being 14 and the other only 6, they were most assuredly virgins and therefore worth a fortune as prostitutes.

After much shouting and crying and begging, finally the despicable creature got what he came for. But for the aggravation, he drew a sword and killed Gengyo's father right there in front of all of them. Gengyo had always been kind and innocent and had never even raised so much as his voice in anger.

But at seeing his mother and sisters taken away to be made into sex slaves, and his father slain before his very eyes, something changed in him. With an inhuman roar of fury and pain, Gengyo rushed the man who had destroyed his family. With naught but his bare fists and teeth, and withstanding the man's sword cutting him again and again, he fought and even caused enough injury that the man never forgot the small boy, even unto his dying breath. Sadly, though, this kind of story has no room for a happy ending. Only a bittersweet one. Gengyo succumbed to his wounds right then and there. If jot for a Shinigami being only a few miles away, he might have very quickly become a hollow hell bent on ruining everything he had ever loved and cherished.

Fast forward to the East Rukongai, one of the outer districts. Gengyo arrived there a street urchin, and luckily his tenderness earned him a small yet pricelessly close group of friends. However, Gengyo's tale must contain more suffering. How unfair that someone so otherwise pure would be forced to endure so much pain and hatred.

He'd been dead all of 50 years, and hadn't aged a day past 10 or 11. One of his friends, one who'd always had terrible luck with the worst people, stole some money from someone to pay for some medicine because Gengyo had managed to hurt himself. The owner of this money came looking for the one who'd robbed him. If Gengyo had not been present, his friend would have surely been killed. As it was, unarmed against a man with a knife, Gengyo beat the man to within an inch of his life. In that last instant before he sent the man into a second death, he was struck by a vivid flashback of his father. Unarmed and defenseless, he had been struck down without mercy. And now here was Gengyo about to do the same to another unarmed and defenseless man. Sparing the guy's life, Gengyo told him never to be seen again and sent him away.

That night, for the first time since dying, Gengyo felt hungry. He swore that same night that from then on, he would only fight in defense of those who could not defend themselves, and never against a foe that could not defend themselves. He would never kill, even if it meant his life. For over half a century he kept that vow, and until he heard that the Shinō Academy was accepting applications he never thought much of the fact that he'd been having more and more trouble satiating his hunger and thirst.

Zanpakuto Information

Name: Tsukurite Yasuragi (Peace Maker)
Sealed Appearance:

As you can see, it's a katana with a gold colored sheathe and matching hilt. The guard is in the shape of an eight-spoked wheel, similar to the symbol for the Buddhist eightfold path. And, of course, the blade is otherwise entirely normal.

Release Command: Sorasu sukkari arasoi (Turn aside all conflict)
Shikai Appearance: The sword takes on the form of a Chinese Jian (search Wikipedia for it) similar to the one used by Li Showran in the Cardcaptors anime. The hilt has a dull copper color and there is a large green jewel set in the middle of it with a 3 foot long red ribbon trailing from the pommel.
Zanpakutō Spirit: Tsukurite Yasuragi appears as a large tortoise with a lion's mane and tail, the mane and tail being white.
Shikai Techniques/Abilities
- When Tsukurite Yasuragi is swung at an opponent or an incoming attack, the Zanpakutō slices through and disrupts the flow of spiritual pressure, destroying or turning aside incoming attacks and simultaneously amplifying any damage that a direct physical attack from Tsukirite Yasuragi inflicts.
- When Tsukurite Yasuragi parries a blow or counters an attack with its first ability, the jewel in the pommel begins to glow as the Zanpakutō absorbs part of the spiritual force of any attack dealt with in this fashion. Since it only absorbs a part, obviously attacks will still harm Gengyo gto some extent as he deflects it. Needless to say, in order to even use this ability, Gengyo must first succeed in parrying the attack in the first place, and as we all know, not all spiritual-based attacks are so easily dealt with. It takes roughly 5-8 deflections to be full. Note that firstly, Gengyo has to be fast enough to parry the attack in the first place. Secondly, anyone can tell you that not all kidō manifests itself in a way that allows you to simply deflect it.
- The third ability utilizes the gathered reishi from opponents attacks and fires it from the tip of the blade in a concentrated burst at the target. The attack is visible as crackling electricity and, passing through them, inflicts spiritual-type damage to one's insides. If an opponent was standing in front of a wall and turned they would see the impact point on the wall caved in slightly and covered with cracks as though something massive had collided with it. Note that this ability is only spiritual so using a spiritual, or Kidō-type defense will stop the blast entirely. Although the blast is immensely powerful, even a low-level barrier can stop it. Range is 50 meters. Cooldown is 3 posts...even if he fills it up before the CD ends, he has to wait for the CD.

Bankai Status: Achieved
Bankai Name: Tsukurite Yasuragi Zettai Seion (Peace Maker’s Absolute Tranquility)
Bankai Appearance: Tsukurite Yasuragi Zettai Seion looks no different from its shikai form. The bankai is actually a resulting area of effect. Gengyo points Tukurite Yasuragi straight up, says “ban,” turns it over so it's facing down, says “kai,” then drives it into the ground creating an anchoring point. On impact eight beams of light shoot out from the blade racing along the ground for 100 feet in each direction. When each beam has run its course, each splits into two beams and travels left and right until it connects with the other beams in a ring of light. Next, a faintly glowing opaque wall rises from this ring of light and forms a dome. When the dome completes itself all light in the space is inverted, creating a rather funky-looking area. The dome also extends underground creating, in truth, a perfect sphere.
Bankai Zanpakutō SpiritTsukurite Yasuragi Zettai Seion appears as an old man in a long, flowing robe of emerald green, with a long white beard and a lion's tail the same white color. Also, over the robe is the shell of a tortoise worn more or less as if it were a suit of armor (albeit one that only covers the back and chest).
Bankai Techniques/Abilities
- While inside the the Zettai Seion all ability to sense the outside world and any spiritual pressure is completely cut off. The effects of Shikai and even Bankai are disrupted, not unlike a shoddy satellite signal, and Reiryoku-based attacks or spells are equally ineffective, as well as any Hollow-like equivalents. This is achieved not by suppressing or absorbing the power of those inside the Zettai Seion, but by reflecting the spiritual pressure exuded by the occupants, creating a state of forced equilibrium, hence the name “Absolute Tranquility.” All physical stats remain unchanged, but Zanpakutō cannot be used to cut...but they CAN be used as bludgeoning instruments. To end the forced equilibrium, and to make Zanpakutō able to cut again, all one must do is remove Tsukurite Yasuragi from the ground. However, the barrier remains until Gengyo ends his Bankai. It should be noted, however, that the disruption can be overcome by sheer force if someone inside the Zettai Seion has a powerful enough reiatsu. Flaring it up enough can in fact nullify almost all the effects.
- Should anyone other than its owner take hold of Tsukurite Yasuragi while its Bankai is active, the ribbon attached to its pommel will quickly bind itself around their forearm. Once wrapped around the victim's arm, Tsukurite Yasuragi will begin to rapidly devour the victims spiritual energy until they are drained completely or the person lets go. Letting go will cause the ribbon to release you and no permanent damage will be suffered from the draining.
- Tsukurite Yasuragi Zettai Seion possesses one other ability. Gengyo can reverse the flow of reishi through the Zanpakutō and lose all defense, creating a highly destructive force. When this technique is activated, the blade of Tsukurite Yasuragi glows a brilliant white and takes on a flaming appearance as the reishi that composes the blade grows increasingly unstable. When swung it releases a massive blast of spiritual energy (think Getsuga Tenshou on ultra-crack) on impact, strong enough even to obliterate a small building made entirely of Seki-Seki stone. However, the result of this is that Gengyo is left with almost zero reishi, and if not given intense medical treatment right the ******** away, it is very likely that he will die. Obviously that means that this ability is one for an absolute last resort.

Combat Information

Specialization: Shikitei Gengyo is a profoundly uncanny master at Hakuda, and his Shunpo skills aren’t anything to take lightly either. His Kido proficiency is well above average, but only when it comes to Bakudo. When it comes to Zanjutsu, obviously he’s going to be exceedingly good at it, but his young age and the fact that he lacks the experience of his older comrades means that his only real skill in Zanjutsu is his ability to block, deflect, and parry. In short, defensively he is a genius in all aspects. However, offensively, he is going to be at a severe disadvantage.
Known Techniques/Skills
Utsusemi (空蝉, Cicada)
Senka (閃花, Flash Blossom)
Hanki (反鬼, Reverse Demon)
Eishōhaki (詠唱破棄, Incantation Abandonment)
Nijū Eishō (二重詠唱, Twofold Incantation)
Kōjutsu Eishō (後述詠唱, Spoken-After Incantation)
Other Information:
Exceedingly proficient in all Kido, not requiring any manner of incantation, save for the 90's. Further, Gengyo was taught all the forbidden Kido by the last Kido Master, but he refuses to even admit that he knows them.

In terms of Hakuda, lemme just say that, when combined with his prodigious Shunpo capabilities, his grand-mastery of literally a half dozen different martial arts styles makes him insanely tough to fight. The only ones who can move more efficiently are the members of the Onmitukido
Zanjutsu….pitiful. Plain and simple, Gengyo is mediocre at best with Zanjutsu, which is why his style with it relies almost completely on parries and redirection.

Gengyo’s Reiatsu, by the way, is green. In bankai, this adds white to the outside. It flows off of Gengyo in pulsing waves, like a heartbeat. Unless one has become exceedingly accustomed to Gengyo’s presence, being within close proximity has been known to cause individuals to feel an inexplicable feeling of sorrow, pain, and hatred. Also, Gengyo, due to his age, may have an abnormally high reiatsu, but his youth and inexperience make it somewhat flimsy-feeling at times. However, somehow Gengyo tends to keep his reiatsu SO hidden at all times, that some have claimed that it almost feels like talking to someone who isn't there.
