BrookM After that though, once you have your HQ and part of a single troops choice, what then? after that i think i'll build my 1st platoon with HQ, guards, conscripts, heavy's and specials..after that the 2nd one identical to the first. not sure if i'm getting my vehicles afterwards or during creation of my infantry platoons ninja don't have an accurate plan yet though..got any thoughts or tips on how or where to improve? ninja

Maybe start smaller so you can get games in at an earlier stage?

I'd try and start with a CCS, one platoon made up of PCS and two infantry squads plus those conscripts and a heavy weapons section, then temporarily use a squad of Guardsmen as veterans, so you have 1 HQ + 2 Troops and get some early games in.

I used this tutorial myself for my Deathstrike: http://youtu.be/74p9eGwRAog But it should be applicable to any vehicle, regardless of colours used. And yes, thin your paints it always a good one, better to apply two thin coats instead of one thick one, especially when working with vehicles.

And yes, thin your paints it always a good one, better to apply two thin coats instead of one thick one, especially when working with vehicles. well, that tutorial was quite useful, might go with that..also, i was thinking about using a sponge instead of a brush to apply the base coats for the cammo..or is that a bad idea?

You could always experiment, though with a sponge you could either miss the nooks and crannies, or gunk up the details with too much paint. yeah, i'll have to be carefull with a sponge..thinning paints..not using to much at once. nooks and crannies can be finished with a ******** up details will be more of a concern i think.

BrookM What colours are you going for? my army comes from an ice planet so wintery colours..white, grey, blue-grey. pretty much the way i painted my conscripts for the painting contest. ninja
