Cliff was Metallica, he was their determination and when died, Metallica died. They lost all their respect, as they went from one of the least mainstream bands to the most mainstream thrash band in existence.
Ron was the second thrash bassist ever, mostly cause of his time in Leather Charm (Hetfield's band before Metallica, where they wrote "Hit The Lights").
Not sure why I said Jason.. He was good in Flotsam & Jetsam and Voivod, but he sucked during his time with Metallica =S

its true that Cliff was the soul of metallica, but after he died they carried on because they knew cliff would want, it, and even after he died, metallica wasnt all that mainstream, they drifted more twoard mainstream after they released ...And Justice For All and jason was a ******** retard
