Amos' eyes were closed as he sat in his circle of flowers. The vegetation around him continued to grow and fade constantly as he tried get the hang of wielding the new incredible power. the mortal hunter was now on par with the likes of greek legends who were classified as demigods. As the aging man sat meditating, he could feel the presence of death coming closer. Persephone's power alerting Amos to the stolen power of Hades. In his mind's eye, Amos could see Lily coming. Her foul aura gliding through with her army waiting at her beck and call.

In a matter of minutes, she was upon him. Deja vu set in as Amos opened his eyes. He was expecting Lily, but there stood Kat. Impossible. Kat was dead. How could she be here. The hunter then looked down at the ground. His trail of vegetation and growth had completely withered away and died in her presence. If this was a helpful enough sign, the old mercenary then spotted a scar on Kat's throat. Was that always there? It didn't matter. It didn't take a genius to figure out he was being played. Amos could hear the disgusting psychotic suppressed giggling in her voice. It was an uneven range of vocals, like choppy ocean water on a windy day.

"Tell me, my child. Do you know the tale of Doctor Faust? In the 16th century, long before you were born, there lived a scholar named, Faust. Faust was a very accomplished man and highly successful, and yet, he was dissatisfied with his life. He wish for more. So he sold his soul to the devil in return for limitless knowledge and luxuries. On behalf of the devil, a confidant was sent. That confidant's name was Mephistopheles. Mephistopheles was a demon who never tempted men into sinning, but did come to collect when it was time. Faust, was a pitiful soul. He drove himself to the point of madness when the weighting the options of penancing for his soul or believing he was truly damned. Either way, when his time was up, Mephistopheles came to take his soul."

Amos rose gracefully from his circle of flowers with the black demon sword his hand. "Lily, I am no demon. Nor am I in the employ of the devil himself. But, that same confidant of the devil is here today to collect your soul." The hunter drew the evil blade from its special scabbard, hissing as the adamantine blade scratched against its housing. The sword itself emanating with evil power and intent. It radiating with a hunger for souls and thirst for blood. "Mephistopheles, is among us. And he is here as the blade I wield in my hands. It time to pay up. Your deal ended long ago and debt is overdue."

Lily listened to Amos' speech without any interruptions, her expression passive as she recognized all of the insults sent her way. She would remember each one, never one to let such rude words be said to her without punishment. But for now, in this moment, she was still attempting to act differently, but every minute that passed made it all the more difficult. Amos was just so serious, talking to her as if she had asked for a bed time story. Well, she supposed, his death would be like a bed time...perhaps he was speaking for himself.

She took a step back when Amos drew his sword, revealing it's origins and power to the sound of a gasp. She clasped her hand over her heart, fear on her face as she collapsed into the ground with a cry. "OH NOOOO. NOT MY SOUL." She rolled over onto her back, her black hair spilling across the dead grass as she cried out more, her antics growing more and more ridiculous until she finally went still, her tongue lolling out on the side for a few seconds until she suddenly sat back up, moving quickly to her feet as she laughed. She had truly tried not to act as "old Lily," but the heavy weight of the scene at hand only seemed to humor her.

"Okay, I just did the scene like how you want it, with me dead and stuff. Now-" she stopped to smile, implementing her own theatrical pause as she stepped forward. "We do it my way, with you dead and stuff."

It didn't take a genius to see that Lily was mocking Amos. If it wasn't enough, she was using Kat's corpse to do it with. While Lily's insults did reach Amos, he felt it was more embarrassing for the wannabe death god. Reducing herself to childish antics and slapstick humor. They just didn't seem to suit her. When she got serious, the hunter steeled himself for battle. The power of Persephone was at his bidding. Amos could summon trees and use roots to bind foes, even carry himself forward. Photosynthesis was even an option, provide Amos had enough sunlight. The hunter armed his weapon, holding it behind him, ready to charge.

A lone wind blew, letting the sound of three long and deep howls from distance carry over. Amos took the moment of distraction as his chance to strike. Thick brown roots burst from underground and carried the hunter like a ship on a wave. Amos almost seemed to assimilate with the roots themselves as he quickly closed the distance between him and his enemy. As soon as he entered the necromancer's reach, the thick bulging roots crumbled. Lily's aura of death just have been enough to wither them away. But this was as close as Amos needed to be as he went to strike a broad slash to Lily's chest. Part of him wanted this fight to last, to make Lily pay, and to enjoy the fight. The other wished only for a swift and decisive end.

As the wind kicked up, Lily was made acutely aware of just how serious things were getting. Cerberus was out there, she knew, and Persephone's power lay within the bonds of this human. Even if it were just temporary, she realized that something different was happening...the Gods were against her, which meant...Hades is free. Concern flitted across her face. She had thrown aside Amos' previous threats and grand conviction of her death because usually she would just return from the Underworld. But now she knew that if she was killed and sent there, she would have no way out, and no way to escape Hades' anger.

The sound of distant howling brought her attention back to the situation. Amos lunged, already close enough to strike as she withered the roots at his feet. Lily jumped back, twisting just in time to avoid the worst of the strike. His sword had snagged the dress she wore, tearing a line across the bodice to reveal a few of the stab wounds Kat's corpse already had.

A single laugh passed her lips as she retaliated, one hand extending to call upon her army of the dead. As they marched closer, she worked to kill the plants around her, turning tree branches into spears and blades of grass into darts.

Judgement time was close at hand for the necromancer. Amos would stop at nothing to bring an end to the chaos Lily had caused. Her troops of undead slaves were ruining the livelihoods of many a normal folk, even worse, they were disrupting the balance of life and death. Even the most powerful necromancer knew they couldn't keep soul from the afterlife. Every soul had to go If they were, it would be to absorb the soul for its own innate power.

The hellish sword the bounty hunter held in his hands glowed with a sick red fervor. The blade yearned for bloodshed, like an animal hungry for food. The sword would get its meal in time. Even so, the vorpal cutting edge of the blade sliced past what Lily was wearing. Mephistopheles, as Amos dubbed the sword, cut cleanly through the necromancer's clothes, separating whatever bonds were connecting them.

Lily was now on the defensive, sending her minions to attack aging hunter and destroy whatever he could use. It wouldn't make a difference in the hunter's mind. Even if Lily drained the life from a thousand trees and miles of fertile land, with Persephone's power, Amos could just as easily restore it to normal. The did not detract from the necromancer putting a thorn in his side. Her minions got in the way each time Amos came close to their master. While on their own, each undead creature stood no chance. The demonic black blade cut through them all as easily as a fish swimming through the ocean.

Amos had out both his sword and pistol, delivering judgement upon the sorry manipulated souls brought back from the dead to fight by Lily's side. Precise holes filling their skulls from his gun and quick cuts and incisions with the sword. Amos was a one man army. When he became overwhelmed with the dead, the hunter would call upon the power of nature to dispose or clear a path for him. And yet, every time Amos drew closer to the necromancer more undead would just get in his way.

Slowly, but definitely far too quickly for Lily's liking, the battle turned against her favor. Amos was strong as a single being, but tripled with Persephone's power and the sword he held, Lily would be facing the toughest fight of her long life. As Amos sliced through her clothing, she threw herself back, covering herself with a meat shield of the undead. It was stifling beneath the bodies, but she managed to crawl out while Amos kept shooting and hacking at her army. Her breath grew ragged as she ran. She cursed the mortal body she was in, already weakened because of what she had done to Katrina.

The hours dragged on, and as the battle continued, Amos drew closer and closer, each stroke of his sword slicing through whatever obstacle Lily had placed in his way until finally, he was only a few feet away. She took a step back in panic at the realization that there was nothing between them. Amos has taken down all the dead she could muster. She took in his appearance, all his wounds and injuries...yet, she noted, he still stood tall. The determination he held could be seen not only in his face, but throughout his entire body. This entire time, she thought she would find a way out, a way to kill him or at least some way to run.

She was wrong.

One more step back. Then another, and another. On the last step, she felt her foot slip, causing her to collapse. She felt her knees slip into the ground, causing her to look down in confusion. When had the dirt turned to mud? She looked up, eyes focused on the sky for a moment as she realized it had begun to rain long ago. The water droplets rolled down her face, her hands clenching in the mud as she summoned the last of her energy. She looked to Amos with a laugh, her expression showing the mania in her mind as she worked to beat the count down to her life's end. The ground shook as she worked, extending her power as deep into the earth as she could.

With the aid of Persephone's power, Amos had become a whirling dervish of divine justice. Combined with the goddess' power over plants and vegetation, Amos could summon wholly impossible plants at a moment's notice. He sent undead flying with sudden fully grown trees that shot from the ground, strangled and tore them asunder with living assassin vines, ripped them to shreds in killer thorn bushes and had them devoured whole in massive venus flytraps. Amos himself felt slightly drunk with power. He felt like a being a pure destruction with this power,

Though, hunter was quickly reminded of his temporary godlike powers when the infernal hellbeast , Cerberus, howled and came running to his aid as the clouds began to close. Even with this god like power, the massive amounts of moaning undead were able to overpower the hunter every now and then. They were poor deluded souls brought back from their eternal slumber. Robbed of their sleep. They were all the reminder Amos needed to keep going to put an end to Lily's chaos. The demonic sword clutched tightly in his hand shook with an endless hunger. The souls of the undead were like cheap substitutes. The sword craved something more. It wanted a soul steeped in darkness. Mephistopheles, wanted Lily.

Amos closed the distance between him and his prey as rain began to pour down onto the vast fields of the dead. Puddles were forming in the uneven and muddy ground. Amos felt his boots sinking and sucking into the mire, but dragged each foot out with sheer driven grit. Persephone's power guiding him along to complete his mission. Amos stood over the fallen necromancer with grisly resolve. He held up the blade of his sword so it touched the maniacal necromancer's chin. "Give up, Lily. You have caused enough destruction. At least let yourself die with what remaining dignity you still have."

Amos was about to deliver the final blow, when his enemy began to laugh with hysteria. There was a rumbling in the ground. What was going on? Lily was doing something that could lead to catastrophic results. Amos reeled back his arms, held the demonic sword with both of his hands, before going to plunge it straight through the necromancer.

Dignity? The dead had no dignity, at least in Lily's eyes. She never understood why humans cared about how they were remembered. Beings that were dead had no control left on the Earth...perhaps that was why Lily had fought so hard over the years to stay alive. The rush of power from maintaining control was intoxicating, and it had made every moment worth it. Every kill she made, every person and creature she hurt gave her a sick sense of pleasure rooted deep in the control she craved to have over everything.

Lily wanted to speak, to tell Amos that he was nothing, a speck of dirt in the world. But her boasts and insults would do nothing for her now. Lily knew that this was her end, the last chance she had to hurt others before she faced Hades and his wrath. She continued to work, pulling as hard as she could with her power. The shaking ground caused her skin to be nicked by Amos' sword more than once, causing blood to mingle with water from the rain. She had only seconds left, her laughter continuing to spread, muted only by the storm's occasional thunder.

Lily saw Amos move. She saw the sword coming toward her chest, and the glint of light shine in her eyes for a fraction of a second. She saw the blade sink deeper into the borrowed flesh she wore...but Lily didn't feel the pain right away. Shock overtook her, and for a few moments, she was silent. She could only hear the rain in her ears as she collapsed to the side. Her eyes closed as she inhaled sharply. She felt calm as she listened to the world around her; whatever sickness that had overtaken her mind centuries ago was gone...

Was this peace?

No. Every god of the land knew Lily deserved no peace in death. A scream erupted from her as her body convulsed, her magic draining from within her, flowing deep into the Earth's core. Now Lily knew the true meaning of pain. There was only seconds left of Lily's life, but each one felt like a thousand years of torture. She thought she was screaming, but she made no sound except for the occasional attempt to breath until finally, the self proclaimed goddess was gone.

It was done. The deed no being above mortal would bother to do on their own. The dirty work of a mortal, that's what it was. Why would anyone above ever bother. Amos watched the demonic sword in his hands sucked away the undead life from the necromancer. He saw the vile spiritual energy being sapped away from her and into the blade of the sword. For moment, in the pouring rain and thunder, Amos saw a different light in Lily's eyes. They were void of the madness that taken over her. They were human. But just as the hunter saw the madness leave her eye, he watched as the light of her soul fade away as well. Amos could hear the necromancer's soul scream as left her body, eating and consumed by the sword piercing her body.

The end, Amos had to watch the light fade from another being's eyes for an untold time. He he seen it happen so many times, but never in a way that made him pity like he did now. Finally as the hunter's had muted the sound of Lily's screaming soul, the last of the necromancer's soul was sucked away by Mephistopheles. It was finally done. Kat's maimed and mutilated body lay lifeless in the mud. Amos retrieved the demonic sword from Kat's body before bending down and picking her up. "Cerberus." The hunter called through the soaking rain. The hellhound came and looked down at the semi-divine mortal. "Start digging a hole to bury all of these bodies and another for just this one person." One the beast's head's c**k to the side trying to understand Amos' motive while the others either obeyed willingly or reluctantly.

A small human sized hole was dug first, where Amos laid the maimed body of Kat to rest. When her hole was filled, Amos used the borrowed power of Persephone to do the impossible. Above Kat's grave sprouted a lone tree. A great and mighty oak in complete bloom. When Cerberus finishing digging the mass grave for the other bodies, Amos again used gift abilities to collect all of the bodies and assemble them into the pit. The mighty dog of Hades the began to pile dirt onto the grave. For a moment, Amos pondered if he should honor the dead as he did Kat. The hunter ultimately decided again it, instead commanding the soil to devour the lifeless undead.

Seeing his business to be finished, Amos retrieved the stone given to from his pocket. It was the enchanted stone given to him by Danny. "Come on Cerberus. Time to go home." The hellhound stood next to the hunter, before the two soon faded away from the mortal plane and back to the Hades.
