Hi!! I just joined this guild today because of my increasing interest in becoming vegan. I'm not really sure how to go about becoming vegan, whether I should approach this as a slow transition from an omnivorous diet or stop eating meat "cold turkey". Anywho, a little more about me; I am 24 years old, happily married and have a beautiful daughter who is about to turn 2 next month. In case you are curious as to why I decided to make this big change (a change, by the way, that I have been considering for at least 5 years or so) I watched the documentary Earthlings today. This movie effected me so profoundly, I almost couldn't believe some of the things that go on with animals...
I still don't feel like it would be my place to go around condemning, shaming, and ridiculing others for their dietary choices and whatnot. I'm not even going to try to force veganism onto my husband or daughter. I do however, welcome any advice anyone may have, on going vegan, especially when I am married to a man who is an omnivore.
ALSO, another annoying question; would you say, "I am a vegan" or, "I'm vegan"? (Sorry, just another ignorant person trying to become informed)

I would say do A LOT of research before going purely vegan. I myself am vegetarian but that's just me... Since your body is so use to meat I would really recommend taking it step by step before putting it through shock of meal changes. Try going for meatless days like Monday - Wednesday and see how well that works for you, if you don't get light headed or have a headache, keep going for the meatless days longer. Also use as many beans in your diet as possible but all in all make a diet that fits you, this will need to be done through alot of research as I have stated.
