Announcements will include dates and times that updates/changes will come into effect. xWARNING! Automatic Ban r/t TOS - Some situations call for automatic ban and will result in the ex-member also being reported to Gaia Online.
Actions that result in automatic banning can be found in Gaia Online's Terms of Service agreement, specifically under items "a" and "b" of "Prohibited Conduct". When in doubt, stick to common sense and common courtesy and you won't have to worry.
Requests for clarification should be made to The Dreaded Warning or Doctor Acinemod Irralius via private message.

RULES Please make sure you read Gaia Online's"Lotto / Money Games Rules and Guidelines" thread before considering hosting a contest/lottery.You will be reported as a scam if you violate any of the rules listed on the thread linked above. Be Literate!: Proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, conventions, so on and so forth all the things that have to do with literate writing should be considered when posting anywhere in the guild. Being able to read and write properly is essential!Be Respectful! : Treat others as individuals who have the right to their own beliefs, ideas, and feelings.Be Clear!: Every contest/lottery must have a set of rules and clearly define instructions on how to participate. All prizes must be clearly defined and verified. (See "Be Honorable" below.) All contests should have a defined amount of time in which the person who wins the prize(s) receives the prize(s). All contests should have a clearly defined length of time in which it begins and ends. Be Honorable!: All items/gold designated as prize winnings must be verified BEFORE the contest begins. This MUST be done through a cancelled trade with The Dreaded Warning or Doctor Acinemod Irralius. Images of the trade will be taken by The Dreaded Warning or Doctor Acinemod Irralius and posted on the thread by either of them. It is NOT acceptable for the thread owner to post an image of the cancelled trade. Prizes outside of gold/items, such as art, should be backed by previous works by the artist displayed on their contest thread. They can watermark or crop the images however they like to prevent stealing.
****In such cases where prizes are to be purchased by the host using contest entrance fees and/or donations, the host must specify this on their contest thread in a place that is clearly obvious to readers. Contest hosts may be asked to prove through a cancelled trade with The Dreaded Warning or Doctor Acinemod Irralius that they have the gold to purchase at least 50% of the items being offered and/or that they have 50% of the gold being offered in their contest prior to the start of the contest if they choose to host a contest in this manner.****

So here's how the rules and penalty system work...
wahmbulance Banning is a serious matter. Members become ex-members at the discretion of the Captain and Vice Captain. If you have a reasonable explanation as to why you broke a particular rule, contact The Dreaded Warning with a clear explanation. Reasonable forgiveness is possible.
wahmbulance A violation of any rule in which you refuse to pay the fine is an automatic ban. All violation payments are to be made to The Dreaded Warning. Once a fine is paid that member may resume posting in the guild. Continuing to post with outstanding fines may result in banning.
wahmbulance The number of times a single member violates the rules in the last 30 calendar days serves as a multiplier for the initial fine of the rule that member violated. For example, if a member violates the rules on 2 separate occasions the first violation's specified fine will be multiplied by 1 and the second violation's specified fine will be multiplied by 2. The multiplier is reset after 30 calendar days have passed, which is started the day after the last violation.
wahmbulance Violation records are private and expunged after 3 months to the exact or nearest number date of the last violation. Ex: Violations that occurred on January 31st will be expunged on April 30th. wahmbulance Automatic Ban r/t TOS - Some situations call for automatic ban and will result in the ex-member also being reported to Gaia Online. burning_eyes A violation of the Be Honorable!: Your contest/lottery thread will be locked and you WILL be reported as a Scam to Gaia Online.
