The morning air was crisp and fresh.
Erevu had gotten up earlier than the day before, nerves making him feel all giddy and sleep hard to reach. Standing near the pond where he had spoken to Yai the day previous, Erevu glanced at the serene surface of the water, reflection peering back at him. He was nervous and he wasn’t even quite sure why.
To be honest, he never really held interest in other females in the pride; he was too intent on his goals and ambitions, dedicating his time to meet his dreams. But talking to her… Honestly, Erevu found himself wanting to revisit that morning, extend it, repeat it.
Heart picking up, he shook his head before ducking his head into the water, attempting to calm his nerves. After he felt refreshed enough, he lifted his head, watching the unsettled water, before lapping up a few, ears twitching to listen for the female. She remembered, right? She would meet with him? It wasn’t just a polite suggestion that wasn’t meant to be followed through, correct?

Yai was not sure what to expect when she padded her way toward the watering hole where she had met Erevu before. She was not really experienced with these sorts of things, even making friends some what of a difficult task for her. So this whole thing... these fluttery feelings of excitement...
She had no idea what to do with those, so she tried to just file them away in the back of her mind for review later.
As she approached, she saw the male with his head dunked into the water. That was not really what she had been envisioning when she was trying to create a mental picture of this encounter, though she was very glad to see him. Even if his head was missing for the moment. She was standing still, being quiet, watching him as he drank.
"I'm glad to see you again," she said after a moment, walking toward him and bending her head toward the water to take a drink as well.

He had just caught onto the footsteps before Yai spoke. Not at all prepared even with the slight warning, Erevu nearly jumped and, instead, yanked his head up out of the water before he swallowed wrong. Nervous, rusty eyes turned to the lioness that approached, watching as she bent to take a drink. She was here! Erevu had no clue what he would say. When he thought about meeting her in the morning, all he focused on was whether or not she’d actually showed up. And she did.
“You came,” Erevu breathed, before grinning albeit a bit sheepishly. Eyes focused on her, he was nearly giddy at her words. “I’m glad to see you too,” he replied honestly. The scout patiently waited, feeling all the time in the world. ”How was your night?”

"Oh, it was the usual. Mostly filled with sleep and half waking moments of sleep," she laughed, shaking her head as she sat down near him. She regarded him with a patient, serene air, and she seemed very much at ease with him, despite herself. She was not sure how to take it, really.
She watched him and tried not to betray any of her uncertainties. She smiled at him, swishing her tail behind her.
"How are you doing? I hope the day is treating you well."
She flexed her paws against the ground under her, blushing a bit under her fur. She was nervous around this male. Why? She wasn't sure she had been nervous around anything or anyone before, but now she suddenly found herself unsure of her own paws? The really strange thing was thoughts like that just made her want to smile.

Erevu relaxed at her eased posture, also sitting down for a moment. He wanted to stare at her but couldn’t hold his gaze on her for too long, bashfully glancing away every now and then. He smiled at her laugh, drawn to it, before shrugging slightly. ”I would imagine so,” he responded lightly, chuckling uncertainly.
At her question, Erevu glanced at the sky, not at its brightest, being so early in the morning, before looking back at her. ”Mornings are usually gentle.” In his opinion, that statement might as well be a fact. The heat wasn’t as harsh, the sun not as bright. Even storms seemed to soften up during the mornings from what he’s seen.
Eyes meeting hers for a moment, he gnawed over his next words for a moment, before standing up, turning slightly in the direction of a well trotted path. ”Shall we walk a little?” he asked, feeling slightly uncertain and nervous, as though she’d turn him down. Don’t overestimate yourself, Erevu, he reminded himself.

Yai smiled and nodded her head almost bashfully.
She was not a lioness prone to extraneous emotions. Things like embarrassment and awkwardness had never really had a place in her life. But she had spent so much of her life alone, or at a tail's length from others, that she had never really needed to know what these sort of things felt like. Now, however, she was beginning to learn what it was all about, and she wondered how she had gotten through so many days of her life without ever feeling like this. Giddy, and silly.
It was fun, and she realized it was because she liked having Erevu around, and he was making her feel much younger than she thought she should be acting like. Even though she'd skipped the curious cub stage, where interest in boys began to show and all those crushes popped up in innocent puppy love, she felt like she was learning what it was all about now.
Only she hoped he did not think she was stupid. If he could just not notice the weird effect he was having on her, she would be thankful. It was thoroughly embarrassing and she was sure he had already experienced his fair share of such silly things as crushes.
"I would love to take a walk," she said, clearing her throat because the first couple of words came out as bashful eeps. What was she doing? She stood and held herself up regally, smiling warmly at the other and nodding her head. "We can go this way, it's quite lovely. You could tell me a little more about yourself, if you wanted..."

Erevu’s heart fluttered, a relieved breath coming from his mouth. She agreed. She said yes. A dopey grin spread across his face as he moved over to her, allowing her to lead. He was on cloud nine. Such a little thing had made him feel higher than Pride Rock could ever get him. It was only a walk. But she had said yes.
Clearing his throat, he fell into step, eyes trained on her, throat caught as though a melon was lodged in it. He let out a nervous chuckle as he thought where to begin. ”I’d love to hear about you as well,” he responded, cringing when he felt his response was lame. Pausing momentarily, he stared at her, before continuing forward. ”I’m the youngest of my litter, with four brothers and one sister in the litter,” he began. ”My father is Mheetu, my mother Mia. Born and raised in this pride.” He paused again, unsure of what to say. ”My father was a scout, which sort of encouraged what I am now. I’m hoping to… venture out into the roguelands, for a little bit, to broaden my perspective. When I come back… well, I have a goal in mind and want to be entirely prepared for it,” he finished meekly with a sheepish shrug. ”Yourself?” Erevu asked in return. ”Tell me a little about yourself… “

Lollipop x L u x u r y ( I'm pretty sure Yai is ready to go, but I can double check =] ) Yai smiled at him and walked along side him, watching him passively and trying not to look too interested. But she couldn't help herself. He seemed very sweet, and she was honestly interested in what he was talking about. Learning more about him was a lovely chance for her.
It sounded nice, really, to have such close ties to family, and know so much about them. Yai had honestly made the mistake of drifting away from her family, and though there was no ill will or anger between her and them, she was not in close contact with them.
Maybe she would have to change that.
"You have a goal?" She asked, skipping his inquiry about her, for now, "what sort of a goal do you mean? I've never been out to the rogue lands, but I suppose I spend most of my time around here, alone."

Erevu glanced at her; she didn’t speak about her family. Even more depressing… she spent her days alone. The lion couldn’t help the flicker of his ears, a bit concerned. ”Alone?” he reiterated with a slight frown before shaking his head, mane ruffling. ”A lioness like you… it’s a bit surprising.” he then let a coy smile to slip, ducking his eyes. ”In fact, I’m a bit shocked there aren’t many… suitors,” he admitted bashfully, glancing purposely to the side, slightly embarrassed by the words coming from his own mouth.
Clearing his throat, he squared his shoulders and decided to address the question, blatantly changing the subject. ”I… um… I plan to apply as one of the Heads. Though, to be honest, I’m a bit nervous… and I don’t think I’m at all ready.” he admitted lamely, feeling a bit crestfallen at the fact, before shaking his head. ”Which is why I’m going to the Roguelands, eventually. I’ve met different sorts of others on the border and am now aware… there is very little I know… there is so much more, beyond the Pridelands…” he let out a wistful sigh, before smiling over at Yai. ”Though, the Pridelands will always be my home… I certainly will miss it, wherever I go… and, of course, you.” He let the sentence linger a bit before realizing just what he said. ”I-I-I mean… s-speaking to you! Our talks, speaking!” he tried to explain hastily, stammering in embarrassment, now unable to meet her eyes.
Lithiasaur Suh-weet. ; v; SO. IDEA. Feel free to shoot it down? ;v; One more roleplay before he leaves for the Roguelands? Asking her to be his mate? idkidk. And then, maybe... when he leaves? Before they win a breeding slot 'ooc'. And comes back after the cubs are born? Doesn't know about them being expected or anything... So leaves during the gestation period, without knowledge of it? 8'D

Lollipop x L u x u r y I think that sounds good to me! Yai hesitated a bit as he seemed so surprised, maybe put off, when she mentioned she did not know much about her family. Her ears drooped a bit, but not because she missed her family or wished for more contact. She just did not want to drive him off.
He was good company. Friendly.
Suitors? Oh heaven.
"Well," she said, smiling at him peacefully, once she recovered from a strange flutter in her chest. "I'm sure you'll learn a lot out in the rogue lands, and hopefully you are able to do what you want when you return. You are a very nice and well meaning lion, and I think you have a lot of potential for greatness. Or maybe I'm just getting a little bias..."
She smiled at him when he said he would miss her, and her heart sank a little with the sentiment.
"I'll miss you too," she said simply, not bothering with his efforts to correct himself. It wasn't anything that offended her, after all. He wasn't looking at her, so she moved a bit closer, leaning her shoulder against him.
