Personality
Bramblestrike is a grouchy old man. If you're familiar with the old man who stands on his lawn, shaking his cane, yelling "Get Off Mah Lawn!" then this will be him. He's constantly grumping about one thing or another and is never happy with anything, even if it was something given as a gift or treat. He generally always wants the opposite of what he gets.
Despite his Scrooge-like attitude, he's surprisingly spry and agile. If his eye sight wasn't blurred by old age and his bones didn't periodically creak while crouching, he might surprise the entire clan by a successful hunt or two in a single day.
History
Bramblestrike wasn't always a big Grumpy McGrouch Pants. In fact, he was a rather passionate gentleman in his day. He cared a lot for his clan, his leader, his mentor, his family... However, a day with Dogs quickly skewed that silver-lined heart. He became a Warrior prematurely (as he sees it). Only gaining the Warrior title for an "act of bravery". One such that cost his mentor her life.
As an apprentice, he watched in horror as a pair of dogs seemingly ambushed the dens. Seeing those horrible creatures closing in on the nursery, something in Bramblepaw snapped. He gathered the attention of the dogs and lured them out of the Clan dens and back out into the open woods. Starting the chase, Bramble was actually filled with elation - despite being scared out of his mind with the dogs breathing down his spine - with the idea that he single-pawed saved the Clan. However, his Mentor leapt in, thinking that her Apprentice was in trouble and ended up in the jaws of the dogs after a bit of a fumble. Bramble could only watch in horror.
His Mentor managed to mewl out, "One life to save many..." in her dying breath as a two-leg's call drew the dogs away.
To this day, Bramble still blames himself for his Mentor's death. He looked up to her. Praised the very ground she tread upon. Losing her made him lose his formally chipper attitude. His night of vigil was long, irritable and absolutely dreadful. He spent all those silent hours contemplating all the reasons as to why she would do such a thing. Why she would leave him and her clan. "One life to save many..." rang in his ears until sunrise and on... it continued to ring into his thoughts and dreams to this day.
He turned sour that night, now seeing the world through darker eyes. Nothing was ever good enough for him. Nothing could ever get him to truly smile or offer positive words of encouragement.
After some time, his eye sight began to slip, blurring with old age. He soon after retired to elder, and now harasses the other elder cats with his grumpiness.
