If there was one thing in this world that Kali did not like... It was the rain. It wasn't that she was afraid of the storms, oh no, nothing like that. The flashy lights, and the booming noise of the thunder across the plains were nothing to her, she chuckled it off like nothing. And she didn't mind getting wet, not at all! After a hot day, it was quite refreshing to have the cooling water pouring down around her, cooling her dark fur! No... What she hated was the very thing plaguing her right now. The very thing she was stuck in. Mud. Everywhere. Matting her fur, making it a terrible mess that would take forever to get clean and tasted absolutely disgusting to lick!
MUD!!
She struggled through the substance, away from the watering hole she'd been lazing at as the sudden downpour hit, howling with anger. " Filthy, cursed, storm! De' Gods dat 'ave called you are in fer ah stern howlin'!! " She cursed toward the sky, stopping to glare sternly upwards a long moment, as she could summon the gods with her stare alone. She finally turned her rosy gaze away from the sky, eyes sweeping the plain to search for a temporary shelter. She was rewarded when she spotted a rocky outcropping not far from the watering hole, a short run... through the cursed mud. But she'd live.
Shaking the built up rain from her fur, a pointless task, she began moving once more, taking off at a swift pace for the small shelter. Too swift it seemed as she caused herself to stumble and slip several times in the mud. Nearing the shelter, she put on a final burst of speed... and made a most graceless entry into it. Sliding face first, rump in the air after tumbling over un-noticed brush. Slowly she lifted her head, trying to rub mud from her face off against her shoulder. " 's not fair! Th' ligh'nin' blinded me! " She justified her stumble to no-one grumpily, not bothering to haul herself up.
