When the great storm came, it passed over a bird's nest. The unhatched eggs turned and the chicks within never hatched - instead, their shells crumbled around them, revealing lumps of immobile crystal rather than fluffy, flight-giving down.

"xxx" - W. L.
The Loa (also Lwa or L'wha) are the spirits of Haitian Vodou. They are also referred to as Mystères and the Invisibles, in which are intermediaries between Bondye (Bon Dieu, or good god)—the Creator, who is distant from the world—and humanity. Unlike saints or angels however, they are not simply prayed to, they are served. They are each distinct beings with their own personal likes and dislikes, distinct sacred rhythms, songs, dances, ritual symbols, and special modes of service. Contrary to popular belief, the loa are not deities in and of themselves; they are intermediaries for a distant Bondye. [Wikipedia - Loa]

Winona 'Winny' Little xxxxxxxStatistics
NAME►Winona Little DOB►April 9th - Aries SEX►Female RACE►Human - Native American HEIGHT►5'2" HEIGHT►115lbs RESIDENCE►Durem OCCUPATION►Clinical Social Worker for the Gambino Department of Social Services xxxxxxxxxxxxxx& Hobbyist Coffee Roaster.
POST COLOR► xxxxxxxTurquoise
LIKES►Coffee and the Pursuit of the Perfect Cup, Holistic Remedies, Old Movies, The Ocean, Independent Research, Romanticizing Things, Animal Bones. DISLIKES►The Dark, Messy Work Spaces, FOMO, Confrontation, Modernity, Repeating Herself and, to the contrary, Biting her Tongue.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION►Winny describes herself as mousy. Despite her athletic physique, she's short and curve-less and therefore unimpressive. Cute, even. This effect is amplified by a cozy wardrobe full of old-fashioned dresses and over-sized sweaters. Her face is olive-toned and freckled with characteristically high cheek bones. Moss green eyes, magnified by thick-rimmed glasses, peer meticulously beneath thick, black eyebrows and her wavy hair is always piled into a casual bun. There is a confident sway in her step and she seems quite self-assured.
INFJ • Neutral Good ►Observant, intelligent and not lacking in tact, Winny hides behind intricate layers of wit and carefully orchestrated social cues. On the surface she's easy-going and quick to laugh, but peel off that carefully crafted shell and you'll find a shy, surprisingly sensitive creature who has transformed years of melancholy into undiscriminating empathy. A byproduct of her softness, she feels a sense of responsibility toward the world's inhabitants and always roots for the underdog. Despite the personality she presents to the world, the past still haunts her in the form of bad dreams and insecurities. Winny often has to talk herself away from lingering thoughts that she's awkward, unlikable and strange and regularly consults an impressive collection of self-help books. The pathological desire to busy her mind often has Winny working until she's exhausted. Despite her best efforts, she sometimes crumbles beneath the pressure and is prone to bouts of procrastination. Winny’s finely tuned intuition, thanks in part to her chaotic upbringing, has made her weary of others. Even the kindest of strangers are held at arms length with little chance of proving themselves truly trustworthy. She has a gift for reading people, whether it be the subtle changes in their tone or the thickness of the air when they enter the room and clings to her instincts with an unmatched stubbornness. Deep down, Winny's a careful girl who wants to make the world a better place for lost things that remind her way too much of herself.
HISTORY►Winny grew up in a one-bedroom shack and spent most of her life squished between four older brothers and an under-appreciated mother. Neighborhood gossip suggested that Mr. Little left on a motorcycle before Winny was born and nobody had seen him since. A victim of Durem's working-class, Winny learned fairly young to look out for herself. Independence meant acknowledging the loneliness that often plagued fatherless children but she found solace in escapism – particularly, schoolwork. Visions of a life where kids like her had options encouraged her to follow in her mother's footsteps and she began waiting tables at the age of fifteen. She hated the sweaty uniform and the old men that stared through her clothes over their coffee cups, but they tipped in cash and she quickly became accustomed to the way the world worked. Money meant options and she couldn't turn up her nose at that. Winny left High School with a handful of cash and, not surprisingly, a few scholarships. A community college in Gambino seemed practical and the seaside scenery promised lots of bustling cafes to keep her afloat. Surviving on tips and half-priced food, Winny finished her four year program in Social Services and easily found an opening in the bustling port city. A comfy state salary keeps those student loans at bay and a humble two-bedroom apartment leaves her wanting for nothing.
