Another cold morning to be satiated with blood and sweat. No tears, Keira had dried up long ago. "I dont remember telling you to stop." The gruff voice shook the girl from her momentary stupor. She had been gazing out the window, trying to peer through the fog and into the beyond. Keira sat up right and cleared her throat, trying to remember the place she had been in before having been sidetracked. "Illusion techniques; subtle chakra pulses sent to the brain of the target. Make 'em see things that aren't there. Feel things that aren't real." Keira said, nodding to herself. It wasn't a direct quote of Avient's teachings, but it got the point across. He folded his arms over his chest and nodded alongside of his protege. "And? What about the techniques themselves?" Fingers drummed against the counter Keira was sitting at and her boot kept incessently tapping against the wall. He wanted the explanation to so many of them, this was such a drag. She wanted nothing more then to step outside into the cold crisp air and take a deep drag on the end of a cigarette. With a very dramatic sigh Keira launched into a long description. "There are a few different types of technique activations, and all illusions require some sort of trigger. For a lot of the lesser techniques; making someone see double, fake blood, having them see as if they were drunk and even creating a false clone require merely the casting of the technique itself. Then there are a load that require eye contact." Keira thought about those particular methods of capturing someone in an illusion. With just a glance you could force someone to remain perfectly still, at the cost of remaining still yourself. You could easily make someone feel something you want them to, be it fear, love, hate, anger, or nothing at all. She looked at Avient briefly and wondered what her chances of distracting him and getting away were. The look on his face suggested very, very slim. So instead of bolting like a nut she continued on. "Other types of illusions require the victim to enter an area of effect. Tricking them to think they're somewhere else or even getting them to loop around the block five times over are examples of that." With genjutsu it was incredibly easy to get someone to find themselves stuck in an area. Keeping them away from a key location was possible as well. This time before Avient could prompt her again Keira kept on talking. "Sometimes the trigger is the touching of a targeted item, or even just the seals themselves." She thought on how one could make any physical item that is touched explode. It was a cute gimmick really, serving no purpose other than a momentary scare. Once it happened there was no second time, the trick was a one shot really. But there was another that was activated upon seeing the seals. One that made anyone see their own personal hell. Keira kept herself from thinking about what her's would look like. Hands were something that were very difficult not to look at as they were being weaved. Most often one could tell the type of technique someone was about to launch based off of the seals. In battle Keira had seen many people stare at the hands as someone prepared a technique. That right there was all she needed. With tenuous suggestions from her chakra Keira could stun someone for a battle, chaining their mind and hindering their movements. She could make them believe that they had been stabbed or even that there was more to her than reality. "And sometimes you are the trigger. A word, a phrase, perhaps a sound or motion. Or even them just being able to see you." Keira finished, imagining creating a smokescreen now to split and take a break. Perhaps she could summon fantastic demons and get them to distract her jailor. Or maybe even she herself would turn into a demon.
