(go ahead, ken)
PostPosted: Sat May 10, 2014 11:45 pm

the lights dim down and multi colored lights begin to flash as The Game by Disturbed hits. as the crowd looks at the stage, a platform rises up with Ken Armand standing on it, looking downward. As it reaches the stage, he looks up, towards the ring, standing amongst a thin layer of smoke rising from under the stage. the crowd begins to boo heavily as he stands for several seconds. He's once again dressed in a three piece suit, complete with shades over his eyes. A table is set up in the ring

Ken begins to make his way to the ring, almost a frown on his face. He stops at the end of the ramp and looks around the arena, out into the booing fans.

Finally, he turns and walks to the right, walking around the ring. He hops up onto the apron, then turns to face the crowd, his back to the ropes. He raises his fists and leans back against the ropes while multi-colored pyros shoot up from the turnbuckles. The crowd continues to boo him as he steps into the ring through the ropes. The lights come back up and the flashing lights stop while the music dies down. He takes up a mic from the table and takes a contract out of his pocket, along with a pen, and sets them on the table.

"I see that many of you are just as simple minded as you were before. None of you see that I'm doing you and Jarel a favor in what I'm asking for. I'm not doing this just for me. I'm not doing this solely to launch my career. I'm actually doing this for you."

The St. Louis crowd is not friendly, raining down the boos.

"You see? You sit out there and boo me but think about it like this. How many of your heroes have you watched go far longer than they should have? How many times have they gone on and on, feeding of you leeches, until they physically cannot go anymore? Look at the men who inspired us all to get into this sport. Men like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair, who are into their sixties and still trying to wrestle somewhere. Do you really want to see the all powerful Dragon like that? Barely able to walk but insisting on climbing into a wrestling ring? Do you want to see the master of hell in a cell no longer to perform the manuevers you so love him for? No more chokeslams, no more Tombstones, no more Jacknife Powerbombs. Nothing but basic kicks and punches. Do you want to see him get surgery after surgery to prolong his agony here?"

Ken pauses again, those boos really interrupting him and forcing him to stop.

"You see, I'm out here alone with this contract because Drako still believes his brother to be all powerful. He believes him to be this force of destruction and was too scared to ask himself or better yet demand that his brother sign this contract and put my words into writing. He fears the legend, not realizing that he's still just a man, and an old man who's trying and failing to hide his injuries. So, let's get to it. Let's bring out the man of the hour, the man whose career will end at Blaze of GLory."

Ken lowers the mic as the crowd begins chanting for their hero, desperate for him to come out and shut up the brash young man

the lights dim slightly in the arena as the ever familiar chords of Down with the Sickness by Disturbed hits the PA. Smoke covers the stage completely

Can you feel that?

The fans look to the entrance as all along the ramp mechanical torches are raised. Lighters are lit all throughout the audience

Oh wah ah ah ah!

Flames burst up on the stage, illuminating the stage and Jarel, standing in the midst of the thick cloud of smoke that had hidden the stage from view. He's dressed in his usual jeans and a sleeveless shirt, complete with his gloves and a sleeveless black leather trenchcoat with a Dragon symbol on the back. The torches on the ramp shoot flames periodically in time with the beat of the music and the Dragon begins to make his way to the ring, with the smoke that had been on the stage moving down the ramp ahead of him to the ringside area

Drowning deep in my sea of loathing
Broken your servant I kneel
(Will you give in to me?)
It seems what's left of my human side
Is slowly changing ... in me
(Will you give in to me?)

Jarel makes his way down the ramp slowly, not particularly in a rush to the ring, his eyes locked on the man who had called him out

Looking at my own reflection
When suddenly it changes
Violently it changes
Oh no, There is no turning back now
You've woken up the demon ... in me

Jarel stops at the end of the ramp, his eyes moving around the arena in his hometown, perhaps taking in the cheers, perhaps speculating, but there is something on the Dragon's mind.

Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
Open up your hate, and let it flow into me
Get up, come on get down with the sickness
You mother get up
Come on get down with the sickness
You ******** get up
Come on get down with the sickness
Madness is the gift, that has been given to me

Jarel turns and walks up the stairs, then steps into the ring over the top rope. Standing in the ring, the music dies out and for several seconds, he simply looks at Ken. Finally, he takes up a mic of his own.

"You know, I've been around a lot of years and just when I think I've seen it all, I get a surprise. I have wrestled in federations all over the world, some large, some small, some infamous, some not memorable. For over sixteen years, I have gone into any federation and dominated. I've been in main events and the under card. I've been world champion 14 times. I've been tag champions with both of my brothers and been part of several factions, from the Family to D-Generation X. I have fought the likes of the Undertaker, Kane, and Shawn Michaels. I've had some long standing grudges with the likes of my partner here tonight, Cartwright, and Nuke Fusion, the last man to say he'd force me into retirement. But never have I been in a situation in which I legally put my career on the line."

Jarel cocks his head to the side slightly in speculation.

"Many people have questioned me since last week on why I would risk it all against you After all, it's been made clear that I don't have to. I can walk out of here and the match is still set at Blaze of Glory. I could make you go the hard route, where you would have to give me a career threatening injury in order to force me out. But then I realized, you may very well have to do that regardless. You see, you have been around a few years now, but I've got over a decade and a half. I've seen your type. I'm used to it. You're young, cocky, and arrogant. You feel the need to make a name for yourself and I just happen to be the veteran you chose to use. I get it."

Jarel steps closer to the man.

"But allow me to explain something to you. It's not time yet. This contract...." The Dragon looks down at it briefly. "...only ensures that I will put that much more effort into this match. On the biggest stage of them all, I will pull out everything in my arsenal and then some to keep my career. But while I'm signing this, I want you to consider something. If you win, you end my career, but my legacy remains in tact. Despite the best effort of some truly selfish people, my legacy doesn't get extinguished. Whenever I hang up the boots for good, I will still have the longest running streak in hell in a cell history. I will still be three time hall of famer. I will still have all the accolades and I will have gone down fighting."

Jarel turns to the table, picks up the pen, and scrawls his signature on the contract.

Ken smirks.

"You talk a big game, big man. But the question is, can you still back it up? Let's face it, your body is failing you. I can see that pain in your eyes. I'm doing you a favor. You get to go out and build up the next generation on your way out of the door. Your little brother got the boost of adding your famous federation to his collection, he made this one named in your honor, and you get to retire in said federation against someone younger who is simply better than you are now, better than when you were in your prime. Sure, we're different styles and sizes, but talent is talent. I'm going to stop your heart cold at Blaze of Glory and then I think I'll move on to take DHW's top prize and run roughshod over the Dragon's federation."

Ken takes up the contract and heads towards the ropes to exit the ring

Jarel raises the mic to speak again.

"There's one more thing I neglected to mention. It's something important that I think you should know."

The Dragon stops, waiting for Ken to turn back around, only to catch him by the throat with his right hand. Inevitably, the crowd would begin to cheer, as he looks to lift Ken up and put him through the table with a chokeslam

The Dragon's words should have been an indicator. Seriously, he should know that this couldn't end well, but no. Ken turns around. after all, Jarel is honorable and all that good guy crap. Unfortunately, when he turns around, Ken is caught by the throat. It wouldn't be a wrestling contract signing if someone didn't go through the table, and tonight, it's Ken's turn. Wood flies everywhere as his body crashes through it and the fans absolutely explode. Wrestling fans love nothing more than watching a guy go through a table, especially a guy like Ken Armand

Jarel brushes his long hair back from his face as he leans over Ken and speaks into the mic.

"What I need you to know most of all is that there is absolutely nothing I won't do to preserve my career, this passion that has been my life for over sixteen years. I'm going to beat the hell out of you at every turn from now until I get the three count at Blaze of Glory, and there ain't a damn thing you can do about it. Think about that while you're picking yourself up tonight and getting ready to come out to the ring with me later tonight."

Jarel drops the mic and straightens up, looking out to the crowd as his music hits the PA.

Nigel: The Dragon just made an emphatic statement as we head towards Blaze of Glory and he puts his career on the line.

Drogan: Ken Armand has clearly shown he has talent, taking the tag champs on single handedly and getting the better of them, and defeating the Honor champion in a non title match last week, but when it comes down to it, Jarel has 16 years of experience and nothing makes a man like him more dangerous than threatening his livelihood.

Jarel steps over the wreckage and out of the ring over the top rope. Heading backstage, The Dragon is as focused as ever heading towards what could be his very last match
