- Brief Overview & History
- A place where those born of darkness, those whose souls are as black as night. A strange hidden world between life and death that is ruled by the three beings of immeasurable power, also known as The Tribunal. Here, times does not exist, there is no future, no present, no past. There is no tomorrow, today, or yesterday. This is a place where no man can come or ever hope to reach. This place is known as Netherworld, to some, but to others, it is called Tartarus, Limbo, Hell. However to those of madness, it is known as home. Netherworld is a vast and rather larger word, at least 10x the size of the earth. It's unique structure and equally unique atmosphere, gives off an eerie yet somewhat welcoming feel to its inhabitants. Netherworld consists of countless territories created by many powerful witches, kishins and demons. Each being is able to create and control whatever goes on with their territory, because of that, one will rarely ever see these beings visit one another, unless they are familiar. Despite the territories being created and managed by their respective rulers, each one is linked or rather connected, by the vast roads that are seen all over the world. If one wishes to travel between individual territories, one must take the roads, but risks the chance of entering an enemy territory, or if they are strong enough and have the required power and skill, they can easily create a portal and show up.
While it does not seem to have any sort of government, Netherworld does have rules and laws that each inhabitant must bide by. It is because of these laws, that fighting among each other has been severely limited. If one breaks the law they will incur the wrath of the Tribunal. The Tribunal is a group consisting of three very wise and powerful beings. These beings are said to be the first visitors/inhabitants of this world and therefore the original people. They were the ones who set the laws and punished those who broke them. One of the members is the extremely powerful and leader of all witches, Mabaa. She, along with the other unknown members, created all of the laws that all inhabitants are expected to follow. However, there are those who, with their power, can slip through the gaze of the Tribunal and commit atrocities, but it never lasts too long.
While the exact time and date is unknown, from what others can tell, the Netherworld was created eons ago. There are no records dealing just how it came to be, or whether or not, it was created by some all powerful being. What is known, is that it has been in existence for about as long as Lord Death, some say, it is even older than him. Before it became this calm and orderly place that we see today, it was a world enveloped in pure chaos and destruction. The vast seas were boiled by the intense lava and the clear blue skies were darkened by the volcanic ash and soot that rained down nonstop. The various mountains were corroded by poisonous miasma and there were no signs of life. While it is not known how the three members of the Tribunal managed to not only get to this chaotic world, but survive as well, Mabaa, herself, has stated that this world had undergone a tremendous change, once the three stepped foot on its soil. Through their combined powers and overwhelming will to survive, the three managed to quell the temperamental world and began construction on the new world.
They first started by purifying the toxic waters and clearing the skies of the ash and soot. By doing this, they were able to start work on agricultural projects. Using their magic and abilities, the three planted trees and other flora, all of which bloomed and continued to spread through out the world. Next they would work on stabilizing the atmosphere and creating a suitable gravitational field around the planet. All in all, it took centuries for the three to make the world as it is today. After their work was done, the three would finally create a portal, linking this world to that of the human one. With the portal set, each went out on their own to find and recruit witches, demons and kishins, that were running amok in the human world. These became the first beings to actually settle and live in this world. Countless millennia would pass and with each passing, the next generation would be born and raised here, until this world became complete. It is thanks to the Tribunal, that this world is as it is today.
While the Tribunal may seem to be the ultimate rulers of this world, there is another being that, in the last few centuries, climbed its way up to the top and was able to not only stand in opposition to the three, but also have an amazing control over most of the beings here. His name was Divine Hope and through his actions, he alone, was able to become the first and only Demon King. With this title and power, Divine had effectively taken control over a portion of the Netherworld and ruled it as his own, creating vast cities and locations. Due to this and the chaos that he had brought to the Netherworld, the Tribunal had struck a deal with him. They would not act in opposition of him gaining the title of King, in fact, they would grant him all the title and give him just as much say over how the Netherworld would work, as any of the other members. He would be free to do whatever he pleased and control whatever he wanted but, in return, he must always consult at least one of them before making a move. He would also be required to follow any order or command any one of the Tribunal members gave him, to which Divine agreed. However, after his demise, the Tribunal did not seek to end the monarchy that Divine had set in place. No, instead, they would choose to leave the title of King vacant, because of his actions, their was now a need for a King or Queen, to rule over the Netherworld. Which is why, the tile is open for any and all to claim. That is, if they are prepared for the burden and responsibility.
- Rules
- As mentioned above, the Netherworld has its own laws that each being is expected to follow.
No humans are allowed to enter Netherworld, unless given express permission by the King/Queen, or one of the Tribunal Members. There are cases of humans sneaking or being brought in with demon, witches, or kishins. Should they be discovered, the humans will be sent back and the being responsible for bringing them there, will be sent to stand Trial.
Each being here, is allowed to create and control one territory of their choosing. In which, they are able to freely manipulate it to their liking.
Before entering another's territory, one must have permission or have the knowledge and power to forcefully breakthrough whatever barriers that may have been erected. Either way, upon entering, the intruder will be noticed immediately and should they not leave, they will risk dying at the hands of the territory's owner.
There are a few territories, whose creators are so powerful, that they are able to completely conceal their presence and whereabouts, even from the Tribunal and King/Queen. No one is able to locate these areas, unless they are given permission or are strong enough to locate them.
Aside from the territories, there are numerous other places where many lower class demons, witches and kishins, are seen shopping living, etc. These places are all under the control of the King/Queen, so you may enter them freely.
Fighting among one another, outside of the designated battling area, is strictly forbidden. In which the punishment for doing so, will be banishment to the human world. Should the need arise for a battle, one can simply head towards the two battle arenas located near the King/Queen's castle. Anything goes in the battle arenas, but killing is somewhat frowned upon.
Any sort of disturbance to the order and natural flow of this world, will result in one of the Tribunal Members, along with a faction of their strongest warriors, coming to said place and handing out punishment.
All demons, witches and kishins, are expected to follow these laws, anyone who does not and seeks to cause disorder, will be banished from the Netherworld and never allowed to return. These laws are absolute.
King/Queen is immune to such laws, but must follow the rules that the Tribunal specifically created for them.
