Lets talk about Frederic Chilton.
So in the beginning, when I first met him, I disliked him so much. Now, however, his character in season two has made me change my opinions. I really like the character. I feel like he's all the fan service that we need. If there is a character in this show that represents the fans, it's Chilton. And then, just as he becomes my favourite, he gets shot and it's left there.
Bryan Fuller has hinted that he's still alive and there are a lot of theories out there in the land of the internet saying that he could have survived so I'm just holding my breath until he comes back.
How is everyone else feeling about Chilton?
Do you have other characters that you hated and now love on this show? That's one really interesting thing about the way this show is written, you can hate a character and then they turn it right around and you love them.

Okay, if you don't have an opinion on Chilton, do you really think Freddie Lounds is dead?

Amazing how everyone hated him in season one and then he quickly won the hearts of viewers in season 2 in only a few episodes. Everyone wants to be his friend or lover now because he has neither. smile
I screamed at my tv and cried a little when he got shot. lol I'm happy Fuller said he survived.

Me too, I feel like he's going to be the Abigail of next season! heehee. He'll be the one guy we don't see and we'll get him right at the end. Unless Hannibal gets curious and tries to find out what else Jack and the FBI were hiding from him

Nah Will, Jack, and Alana will all share the same hospital room with him and it'll become a sitcom. xd
I'm hoping Chilton getting seriously injured in some form and surviving will become a seasonal gag.

So, I'll admit that I absolutely hated Chilton in the films and in the book. I'm not sure if it's Raul Esparza's sheer charisma or how he plays Chilton, but he's quickly become one of my favorite characters. It's unbelievable how well Raul acts for Chilton and he's made a very... largely unlikable character likable and sympathetic.
Plus, he was Hannibal's patsy. And he's the first one to say Hannibal the Cannibal. I'm glad he's survived.

Have you heard the man sing? It's amazing! On the other hand though, I think we do get so much more developement of Chilton in the show, and though we do have run ins with him in the books and movies, we just got the one sidedness of Chilton. Now, however, he's grown as a character, pieced things together before everyone else, and yes made all the connections that the audience made long ago. He's basically the respresentation of the fandom in the show.

Gosh that made me laugh, Chilton has his priorities straight, good job man. whee I really loved him in last night's episode too; poor Frederick, no one wants to team up with him. I like how everyone just disregards him, and he tries so hard to be interesting, and it always falls flat. After the books and movies, I never imagined I'd like the character either, but I really like how Esparza plays him.

Is it terrible that I want someone to have secretly teamed up with Chilton just for the sake of it?
That someone out there is his friend and wants to help him?
