"And where to from there?" Andarien asked again.
"Hopefully we can spend a bit of time in Dolerum, the next country we'll come to of Dark Elves," Kyrie replied with a warm smile. "Not a lot of time, but a few weeks, if you all don't mind. That's where my family is, the ones who adopted me after I esc- left Jielam. Lara's family. My brother is still there, too ..."
She trailed off, smiling hopefully.
"Your adoptive brother?" Iorlas asked curiously.
Kyrie shook her head. "No, my blood brother. He stayed there when I went traveling. He promised he would come with me the next time I passed through, so if he holds true to his promise, then our number will grow again."
"The more the merrier," Wren beamed.

"That'll make things interesting," Lin murmured.
She wondered what Kyrie's brother was like, and if he was anything like his sister. She knew Kyrie had mentioned her brother before but that was well over a year ago and only in passing.
"What can we expect on our way there?" Miyuki asked.

"Well," Kyrie mused, "Wolsic is forested in the south but pretty much the entire land is rock. Not red rock, like Makshim, but volcanic rock. There are several active volcanoes, so we'll need to watch out for those. The Earth Elves are a suspicious if friendly lot, so I don't think we'll be in any danger from them."
"Perhaps we'll see the people we met when we first arrived," Shoneah commented to Eron, smiling. She was looking forward to the idea. As much as the men's wives hadn't seemed to like her and Eron being there, the hunting party they'd met were very friendly.

"They were," Eron agreed, "They helped us a lot. Though their wives weren't too thrilled about having us there..."
He never did quite understand why.

"Women tend not to be as trusting as men," Kyrie smiled. "That would be my guess. What area were they in?"
Shoneah hesitated. She hadn't gotten any place names from them, so she wasn't sure she could say. Not to mention, she hadn't had any idea how this world worked at that point.
"There were trees," she recalled, "and ... a deep gorge."

"We didn't get the names of the places we were in," Eron explained to Kyrie, "We had found ourselves in an open area, and moved towards the forests in hopes of finding water. We did, but the river was in a deep gorge, it was there we ran into a hunting party. They were staying in a cave in that gorge."
Otherwise he couldn't tell much of their location neither.

"Unfortunately, that could describe a lot of places in that country," Kyrie said ruefully. "Well, if we run into them we run into them, and if we don't we don't." She shrugged. "That's the best I can offer."
"Well, thanks for the thought, anyways," Shoneah smiled.
"How long before we get there?" Andarien asked curiously.
Kyrie had to think about it for a moment. After all, traveling with a group was different than traveling on her own. "Three weeks," she replied finally. "If all goes well."

"All we can do is see," Lin murmured in turn.
It would be exciting, though hopefully nothing like the excited they had in the past year. They could do with less of that.
And so the group continued on their way, being the strange and colourful group they were.
