RANDOM NOOB
heart Dragonsbld is so hot!

My reaction: "...."

This is why I question my sanity....

No, I am not a 'fangirl' but I do admit that DB has earned by respect [something which so far only two other people have done]. He is truly brilliant, with a wise-cracking brain power great enough to rival my own. He is truly an intelligent rolemodel.

So I am not a 'fangirl' Although I do not deny that I am a fan of his work, as well as a female. Is it ever possible to admire someone and not be a 'fangirl # WHATEVER'? Or are women automatically branded like that?

Anyway, this is where the more literate and wiser members of this Guild may chat about our personal ideas and reflections to both the comic and it's creator. And perhaps if we are lucky, DB might stop by and actually chat on a level that is his own.

We are the few, the proud, the intelligent.

A WARNING: Fools will be shot on sight.

[Note: I do hope this is the proper place for this thread, as it does pertain to the comic itself]

"The few, the proud, the intelligent"

I like that line, very much. xD
Well, I will admit when I first started out, I was a rabid fangirl, sweatdrop Now, I'm barely on the fritz, i'm a pretty mellow fellow. :]

As for the comic, it does sometimes fufill my daily dose of humor, and I love that someone of his stature has enough character (and patience with the crap gaia n00bs pull) to make such a darn funny, yet serious to the core comic.

Sanctuary! sweatdrop

Anyway. I completely agree, he is a very intelligent, and humorous man. He, among others, has inspired me to try and start some of my own work. I hope to be able to do that somewhat soon.

I agree that the fact he's a good with his comic, and I'm glad to see that there is actually an avatar comic that isn't...terrible. The only problem I have is with fans. Lets just say, I really don't like fangirls myself, but hey, the guy's gonna get fans like that weither he likes it or not. I'm just saying fangirls and/or fanboys help make good things get the media that it deserves. So I believe that we shouldn't put down fans of DB's comic, no matter how annoying they can be. That's all I'll post in this thread.

The problems with the fan-girls and fan-boys is that they will never go away. You can't get rid of them or just calm them down even if you want to.
I don't like them myself, but I don't think that all of them are bad. Some of them manage to stay as calm as they can be, and others don't. Hysterical fans are the worst kind. I've to admit that I've seen most of this kind so far.

I don't count the numbers of comics that are all over Gaia anymore. Most of them are pointless.
A few manage to be interesting and different from the others, like DB's.

I don't consider myself as proud or intelligent, but I'm clearly not a fan-girl either.
I like DB's work a lot. He's good at using humour and drama, without making it pointless. The characters are all interesting and the fact that they're his OWN characters (except for the guests, of course) is also important, because he knows them perfectly: their pasts, how they'd react in different situations, etc...

I happened to jmp on the proverbial ship pretty recently, but I'm putting in my couple of cents. I like the comic. Not to the point annoying the crap out of everyone, or adding dumb I ideas. It seems that new, stupid ideas from some of the fans are added, and most of them are terrible. I kinda feel sorry for Dragonsbld, for every day he is swamped by stupid requests of ideas and, I hate this word, noobs wanting to be in his comic.

actually that is what I am praising, is your attitude. I have met very few people who are just willing to come out and say waht they want to say when they want to say it. and I think that is pretty cool

I didn't know what a fangirl/guy was until I joined Gaia stare I acutally enjoyed that time of living in ignorance. And despite the efforts made by people who seem to have a brain in their heads, they don't go away. I personally don't see the point in acting like a 5 year old child who has no god damn sense in their head and will obsess and fantisize over every little piece of humor.
And on another note...
I mean no offense to anybody but why are people complimenting DB so much just because he makes a popular comic strip? True, some people know him in real life/are good friends with him in Gaia and know him and his personality. This isn't directed at them. But the people who I saw in the comic thread who would obsess and and pester everybody who said "I know DB" to death. They just need to jump off a cliff.
Thank you all and have a nice day.

An interesting rant.. but little more then that really. Were you seeking an answer or was it a rhetorical? There is no answer anyway. (thus my question is rhetorical too) Why do the fantards do what they do? Honestly no one knows. Why do they grow out of it one day? (most anyway) Who knows.. It takes an irrational mind to understand an irrational mind.

Want to know what I find amusing about it all. Those who feel they are 'better' then the fangirls/boys. The repeated gripes about not understanding them. Take a look around some of the threads. Majority of what can be read are bad ideas for the comic, comments towards what ever page, and the fun repetition of telling fangirls/boys that "It's his comic he'll do what he wants" or "Don't ask blah blah blah because it's this and that what ever reason" It's beating a dead horse in my eyes.

Ok, we get it, don't ask to be in the comic.. Don't have to tell everyone in every thread.. Ignore the people asking to be in the comic, their posts will be deleted and so will your response to them, (when my crew or myself see it).

Don't bother to remind them that "It's his comic" They know it, if they don't, they didn't care anyway and won't listen to you. So don't waste your time.

Don't complain about them.. Just move on to the next person and don't pay attention to the last one until they are done with their 'fantard' stage.

Instead of telling those things to people who suggest ideas, analyze the ideas for them and tell them why it's bad. Or other such things.

Have fun with life.. It will help so much.

I was wondering if the comic portrays that of a modern society corrupted by power, or some fantasy world of your own creation. Some serious writers like to insert hints of actual issues that plague our people. But then again you could just be writing them for the fun of it. I tend to want to psycologically analyze everything I see. sweatdrop

-Peers in through a crack in the door, then leaps in dramatically-

THE FIRST PLACE WHERE I POST!

( and where I'm no afraid to )

What to post... what to post...
I don't know what to post! O_O

Dragonsbld is a good comic creator? Meep. I wonder what he should be remembered for, what he did, or why he did it...

-Ponders-
