FaithBlack I get that it's a charity, but can you please explain what the gold you are raising goes towards?
We are going naked to help charities that help others. I, for one, will not be staying on Gaia, so I want my gold and my efforts to go for what I believe to be a good cause, or causes. The charities I have chosen give items/gold to users that otherwise might not be able to get those items without buying Gaia Cash. I am vehemently opposed to Gaia Cash because buying GC condones all of Gaia's actions and decisions, very few of which I would ever support. Pwnder Glad to see I'm not the only one emotionally all over the place about it today. Words can't even describe everything I'm feeling about this mess.
Pwnder, my dear, you are SO very much not alone with feeling this way. I can't even put any of it into words right now; I'm so appalled.
But I do want to sincerely thank you for including our charity efforts in the guild announcement and this week's ATG. I'm so very appreciative, and my resolve to make these efforts a success is stronger than ever. Thank you. emotion_hug

The layout is horrendous (For the new site). It looks like Tumblr with an avatar added to it. Even the name is a ripoff of it. XD
I don't see Gaians rushing over to it for more 'grown up' avis and conversation. Maybe a few but not many. I personally wouldn't because I have a 3 year old and I wouldn't be able to log in except when she's asleep so she isn't getting flashed.
I saw Reapersun, Cygnus and several other Gaia names I knew, be them NPC or mods/admins. emotion_donotwant
This is probably why so much of the staff quit. *I* wouldn't want to go from working on a cutsie site like Gaia to THAT if I'd already been with Gaia for a decade. o_o

I have unfortunately visited the adult gaia site. I was appalled that gaia would even make such trash...even more pissed that gaia probably used some of the users' own money to create that site.

I would pretty much guarantee that most, if not all, of the money they're raking in on Gaia went to that new filthy site, especially given the fact that many members of Gaia staff are already staff their as well. Sadly, I expect that those still foolish enough to continue buying into the lies here will continue buying Gaia cash blindly as they always seem to do.
It's a slap in the face on every level possible.

Users choose a charity or quest to "go nude for" and for two weeks we strip our avis down to their undies. This stripping down represents ridding ourselves of all Gaian Luxury for that time frame. Before and during that time we seek sponsors. Sponsors can choose to sponsor us any amount of gold from 1 gold to a gazillion gold for our two weeks of nudity. At the end of those two weeks the gold is sent to us and we give it all to the charity we chose to "go nude" for. We cannot go nude for our own charities or quests either so all the gold we collect goes to others. Think of it as a walk-a-thon or something similar but with pixelated undies. XD

Tanooki John Gaia has a new interactive site? I didn't know they made a new one? Im not asking for a link here since you said you weren't. I hope this new site isn't going to require money for things. They didn't make an announcement about it yet (if they're even going to), but they were apparently planning it for a while. The main reason why we're not linking to it is because it often contains a lot of pornographic images right on the front page, without any warning or requiring you to enter your age or sign up (and only then do they ask for your age). I haven't signed up, so I don't know if you can earn Coins (the apparent equivalent of gold) for free, but kind of like on Gaia now, you can buy Coins with real money. Y'know... starting a new site? Whatever. I'd heard they were planning on making an 18+ site a while ago, and I thought it could maybe offer some interesting potential or something... but it's so obvious it's just an attempt at making more money. Things you can get on your avatar here that cost like... 200 gold here... cost real money there. Real money for a sad shitty knock off of some of the items you can get here... maybe because it's for a boring, half-assed full size dress up doll? I don't know. It's so disorganized, it's a full on insult really.
However that's that site, which isn't this site. I really wish they would focus the money on things here as opposed to that tumblr knock off for sure :/
