Kreios's hands gripped the clock. He seemed to be able to tell the time on a clock whose hands never moved. Aisa had never seen it move. His black silica eyes slitted over to Aisa's location, lifting a strand of sleek black hair to press a kiss on it.
"This is when the barrier's at it's weakest. If we strike not, we may stand a chance to escape."
Aisa looked back, at the forest. She rarely concerned herself with others but Kreios would have realized by now, the unusual affinity she gained with them over the duration of the island. But Kreios gripped her hair tightly, pulling it harshly as cold black eyes stared into Aisa's indigo ones. "If you're thinking about the other heirs, our single priority is yourself. We may get into a bit of a tiff about them when they're left behind, with the other elders.. but we're already a large enough power signature already." Kreios was rarely so urgent but circumstances called for it. Aisa could count on one hand, the amount of times Kreios's composure was so easily disrupted or lost. These were one of those times.
"Ais, don't get attached. Not the heirs.. and not to that doctor. As quirky as he is.. Death precedes all."

"That's a bit backwards, wouldn't you agree, my dear?" The doctor's voice sounded smoothly as he casually stepped through a ragged tear of reality. Marie was in his hand, her runes flaring then dimming while the portal closed. "The problem with weak points, you know, is that the wise are always very much aware of them."
He flashed a grin at the two, "In the hands of the truly capable, and me assure I am very capable, there are no weak points. Only tempting little traps." His eyes raked across the heir's form, and the smile widened and warmed considerably. "You're looking well, fair Death," The doctor spared Kreios the barest glance, "Shame about the lackluster accessory."

Kreios's eyes narrowed at the voice, glancing down at the frozen clock in his gloved hand. Chains started to slowly seep down, silent as ever, circling around Kreios. A chain weapon with another chain, it would certainly pit their skill against one another. That would be the case, if the doctor would acknowledge Kreios. Aisa rested her chin on Kreios's shoulder, her arms sliding down his armored shoulders to relax his posture, forcing the chains to pause in their pursuit with a firm press of her palm.
While leaning on Kreios, she curved her lips into a faint smile as her violet eyes assessed the doctor's as well. It was obvious that she was pleased at what she saw, tipping her head to the side. She was seeing a little more than his very capable side.
"This lackluster accessory managed to pry you out of that lab, didn't he? It was too bad that none of my other attempts were as enticing." She glanced towards Kreios next, long black hair falling over her shoulder. She was enthralled with the doctor's rare presence, along with Kreios. ".. So, my lovely doctor, how will you fare with this trap? Will you fall prey or bite back?"
The sands that counted time already started to buzz like fireflies caught in a jar, in her hourglass, itching to be worn and used as the weapon it should be.
