We want to know what would bring you back to Booty Grabbing? More fish for gold? More interest and advertising for it?
What would make you want to own a tank again? We have seen some amazing tanks kinda drop off since the MP inflation. And we know with a lot of the rigs it seems like getting gold has become easier to do. So what would you suggest to help get you as players and tank owners back in full swing like we all were before the rigs kinda ruined it for us.
Thank you

It would take the market price of fish to go down to the level that we earn more from our tanks than we pay out. Stop selling the freakin chance items!!! Come on guys get a clue!

I don't know that there is anything with the current direction Gaia is going.
With the constant releasing of gold generators it will be impossible to keep up a tank as the MP prices will continue to rise and less players will play BG.
That is a really huge reason why I am no longer keeping up my tank, even if I bought fish from Phin Phang with gCash, there are not enough players to make it worthwhile.

I gave up my upper middle class tank (well, how else would you describe a midrange leaning towards the high end of midrange?) well before all the changes in Gaia because of real life issues. Without being able to be here a reasonable amount of time to pimp my glows personally, there is no way a tank that has any significant cost associated with it will get enough players to pay off. And due to my ongoing real life issues, that's simply not possible on any kind of regular basis.
Even if I had the time, I wouldn't go back. If you buy for gold, they cost too much to pay off. If you buy for GC, even if it's free GC, you can get a much better gold to cash ratio just buying Gaia's gold generators.
In today's changed Gaia, Booty Grab doesn't pay enough to make it worthwhile for the players. Sure, I can grab 3K+ from an all-Airshark tank. But compared to plunking down a buck and getting 1M+ gold? It's not even in the same ballpark.
The gold prices in the MP reflect the cheap gold Gaia's made available. Pretty much everything that's new and "nice" is a couple of million gold or more. I am confident this is by Gaian design: they don't want players to be able to obtain any of the new/"nice" items without handing them real world money. They've made it time-prohibitive to earn the amount of gold you need to keep up.
I keep my first five tank because it pays for itself. I don't make much on it, and I don't care much, either. It keeps me involved in the Gaia Aquarium Community, and that's really what's important to me.
In order for me to go back to my upper middle class tank, some significant changes would need to happen.
Fish would have to drop more gold. Like each coin dropped would need to be a minimum of 10 times the value it is now. Without that, the players are not going to spend their time playing Booty Grab. This also means the BG cap would need to be raised to 1M per day.
This would be a step towards making the current cost of fish in the MP be more in line with the gold they produce, and at least get an order of magnitude closer to the cash/gold ratio of the gold generators. Or Gaia could lower the price of a strike pack by 10 times to 25 GC. Either way, as long as the price of fish is comparable to a gold generator, the gold generator is going to be the better payoff for those who have the cash to spend.
And this doesn't even address the real life issues that have a priority claim on my time.
Frankly, I don't see this happening.
Oh, yeah, and some return plays would be nice, too.

Cheaper fish. Not just on the Marketplace, but on Phin Phang, too. I've wound up switching from proper dolphins to Irwaddy ones simply cuz the proper dolphins are far too expensive. 499GC? Give me a break. No fish should be more than 200GC.
I buy my fish mainly in guilds now, cuz the prices offered on the Marketplace are ridiculous and I'm trying to save up my gold to buy items. Trying being the operative word... at this rate, I ought to have the items on my wishlist by the year 2200... stare

That is a really huge reason why I am no longer keeping up my tank, even if I bought fish from Phin Phang with gCash, there are not enough players to make it worthwhile. gaia_star This! So much this! Being a mother and and spending every day of the week busting my butt to get bills paid, there is absolutely no justification in my investing money in a site devoted to, what is essentially, dress-up dolls and not so great games. The fact that they don't offer better fish for gold is super frustrating and the only way I can obtain any "good" fish is via the marketplace. With all of these angelic halo and million gold giveaways that are happening almost daily now, there's no way a person like me can keep up with the inflation. I work full time and have a family to take care of so getting an hour every couple of days to mess around on Gaia is an extreme luxury.
It also seems like whenever I finally get my tank stocked with halfway decent fish, I begin to get frustrated by the upkeep/payout ratio. It just isn't enough so I get frustrated and leave the site for a while in the hopes that it might get better, but it never seems to. In fact, it seems like it's getting worse. Plus, with the huge inflation, I can either afford to keep my tank stocked or try to save up enough gold to buy an item. Fish or item?
Another problem with the bad inflation is that it ensures that every event on Gaia is going to be a gold sink of some sort. Basically Gaia is become more and more exclusive as the months go by. Only people who can afford to pay money to the site are going to get anywhere or get to participate. As someone who has been on this site since 2003 and have supported the site financially in the past by donating what little money I could, this is a big slap in the face.
I would be interested in keeping a tank if better fish were offered in PP for gold as well as cash. I still try to grab as many tanks as my time allows on Gaia because Booty Grab is pretty much the only way I can earn gold here.
It would also help if they would update the aquariums with some new fish. Or at least quit nerfing the payout or how often you can play or how much you can earn in a 24 hour period. 100k is a drop in the bucket compared to how much they just give away to paying customers. They swore up and down that the site would never offer gold for money, but essentially that's what they're doing. All of the other games and features of the sites are suffering for it, because it's just easier to drop some cash in a matter of minutes to get a few million gold than to spend 10 days and several hours a day playing Booty Grab or zOMG (which is in dire need of an update as well).
Okay, I think I'm done now. /rant sweatdrop gaia_star

there are so many fantastic aquarium threads and it would be such a pity not to see them any more on gaia. i don't own a good tank cause i'm not every day on gaia, but i think it's amazing how much time and work people spend to create these wonderful threads and to care for their tanks. please don't give them up, dear aquarium owners! i'll try my best and play booty grabbing as often as possible. hope it helps you a bit. heart

Feathered Coatls and Jellyfish I know drop items (just found that out recently... You have two fish yourself that drop items. The grunny sub drop pink giftboxes and the enki drops enki's catch. After a certain amount caught by players the tank owner get some too. ^^ (Though the feathered coatl don't drop any items, several of the old fish does, of the ones in the shop besides the already mentioned, the piranha drops blue giftboxes.)

Don't even remember the item now.
Yeah, I have an Enki and Grunny Sub in my tank for that reason but the Jellyfish I didn't know about - got that from your thread NocturnalVeil smile

I sell them in Guilds when I can and when I win some I don't use, I will give them away in the Guilds. I don't have any extra fishies at the moment though. The MP is way too ridiculous!!
I am buying Blue Dolphins at 500k gg each if anyone have any....

I wish I had known that before I took my hiatus from Gaia and I would have kept them in Barrett's tank instead of letting them die out. I love my blue dolphins though! They do last a little longer then the Irrawadies

I'm switching to a full Jelly tank soon. prices are just crazy and I mean even the lacebacks and the alpha grams are up way too high. Ravens are good tanks too and when they die their drops (for the most part) pay for the fish so whatever grabs you get are pretty much pure profit.
