This inflation has been happening since the beginning of gaia, it has always been a problem.
But it got 10x worse late last year, so I'm told, with the introduction of gold generators.
Everyone with access to 3$ can be a millionaire. And that is very damaging to the economy. Being a millionaire means nothing. Gold is not worth anything.
Everything is priced in the millions. Everyone who isn't a millionaire, is pretty much screwed over, because they can't afford anything.
It used to be that if you had cash, you'd have access to more gold, but people who didn't buy cash, still could enjoy the site just fine. It's not like that anymore, though and people are really upset.
It also doesn't help that there's flash sales every five minutes, and that everytime you login you have 10 announcements promoting cash related things, it only serves to annoy people more.
God! That's so true. I don't even bother opening my announcements anymore.

Chromosexual I remember when Pietro was like 500k. Damn, times have changed.
Everything is too damn expensive.
They are worth more than a lot of people's first borns. Put together. M y laurels went from 27Mill to over 2Bill.

I left gaia around September last year and had sold a lot of my very valuable things and had about 1.5mil from it and decided I wasn't going to spend it till I found something I really wanted to buy.
I came back recently to see all the items I sold in the 100 millions now and I just want to cry.. lol!
After selling a bunch of stuff I"m still only at 5 mil xD

my dream avi (Check siggy) is hella expensive due to inflation.. Its sad i been a member sence 06 took a break and now its like 0w0 but i have 15.7m right now so i am not doing too bad formyself.

Ugh, I wondered what the heck had happened to Gaia since I was last here...
I saved up about 50k, which in my day was a lot for me. I was a seriously poor Gaian who struggled to buy anything from the standard shops. And then I went onto Towns 2 to check that out (that wasn't there when I last played) and ended up talking to someone who just gave me 1 billion to "start me off". Just, wow. o_o
And then I noticed how ridiculously the market place inflated and yeah... It's slowly making sense to me now. X.x This is ridiculous. I too have stopped opening my announcements because seriously, there's no point anymore.
