~::The Kids Who Leaped Through Time::~ (Yakushima Forest - 3:25 AM, After School. September 13, 2012)
In the morning hours over the skies of Okina City at the heart of the Supernatural Hotbed, a gaping, black hole opens...and from within, an unknown number of lights streak down from above, scattering all across the region...figures of unknown origin, unknown make-up, a mystery as true as there ever was...and behind them came the dark, streaks of blackness following behind the lights, dogging their movements in each direction...again, scattered. Where they came from is unknown, and what sort of events their arrival may portend remains a mystery to the few who bore witness to the strange phenomenon in the wee hours of the morning. However, one thing is abundantly clear; something strange is happening in the Supernatural Hotbed, and while that's not entirely unusual for the region, there's something that feels...eerie about the arrival, particularly in the darkness that followed them through the portal that opened itself in the sky. Something wrong...unnatural...but what awaits for those who dare to investigate the phenomenon is a strangeness that must be seen to be believed.
A hope sent out across time and space...the future...
...
One of the streaks of light and dark split from the others and crash landed somewhere at the heart of the forest of Yakushima during the lunch hour of September 13th...what awaits, however, remains known only to those who dare to discover...

A.D.A.M.A.N.T., Corrupted Anti-Shadow WeaponAs the group touched down in the time long before, another figure was knelt over. Lifeless, cold...and still. He seemed like a doll, left in a position of penitence. The Anti-Shadow weapon, A.D.A.M.A.N.T. He had been an asset...A tool for the purpose of fighting the corruption...... And yet, as a look at his face would show anyone...He had succumbed to the corruption himself, after a time. For a while, it seemed that he would remain a relic of the past...a trinket...or even a dark-humored souvenir....Until his arms started to move. "9th Generation..An...An...Anti-shadow weapon.." the figure's voice called out, starting to spark to life. "A..A..Anom...Anomaly...D..Detected."It turned, a shimmering purple eye looking at the two that landed with him....And another, covered by the black mess of Corruption. One could almost hear it's parts whirring, as it stood into a fighting stance, a flat, yet sad expression on his face. "E...E...E...Engaging Anomalies.....Objective...P...P..Purge of...Anom...Anomalies.."It seemed a fight was on their hands....And they'd have to be careful, lest they be purged...Or worse, corrupted like the once proud anti-shadow weapon. A corrupted tool, meant to save lives...

Mashiro Munakata, the Holy Basil of the Future "The ties that bind us aren't so weak."The landing was rough, but he'd been through rougher patches in the world before. Even the Corrupted World hadn't prepared the team for what they had seen inside of the Akarana Corridor, but that was what you got when you went messing around in the middle of time and space and all. Some wounds weren't meant to be torn open; a rip between worlds seemed like just the sort of thing you'd not want to tamper with tearing further, though in the end, he had supported this mission all the same. Wounding the fabric of his world really meant very little to him when he considered that the world itself was already ruined. No matter how skilled a medic he might have been, nor how many wounds and things he healed and fixed, even he couldn't fix the whole damned world. And the Corrupted themselves...the one type of wound that he could do nothing to counter, that mending would do nothing to repair...they were a lost cause and he hated to admit that more than anyone. It had been a difficult blow to accept that Narue couldn't be saved, and then they had forced them to let her come with them...he had spoken out against it himself, though somewhere deep inside of him he held out the impossible hope that he could somehow still fix her, too. That with the magic of the Aeon Clock and his own Ultimate Mend they would find a way to bring her back, but in his rational mind he knew it was hopeless...that world was hopeless...and it ate at him as they passed between world that before they had left they had never found them. His and her...
...He didn't let himself get tugged down that rabbit hole. Some wounds never fully healed, and his heart knew that very well. That memory would only prod at one of those very memories, and he hadn't the time to be hurting. Not when all around him he could see green and brown, tall trees and grass and leaves...not at all like the blackened trees, the ruined, dying grass, and the tainted world from which they had come. His eyes closed just once and he let out a breath, then sucked up a mouthful of that unbelievably sweet air that made him wonder if his own world had once been so wondrous. Against all odds...had that blue-skinned eccentric weirdo managed to bring them...there? Into the world before the Corruption?
"9th Generation..."
...No...no, he remembered that voice! It wasn't the first time they had encountered the unit to whom it belonged; during the siege just before the leap, and at least one time before, just after the last of the Shadow Ops Anti-Corruption Units was lost...he had seen him. White hair, that eerie eye surrounded by black, that sad...Corrupted voice...and no matter how badly he wished to fix it he knew...there was nothing within the android that even the Ultimate Mend could restore to what it once was. And somehow, through the Door on the far side and this one, it had managed to follow them...and it was here...
...The Corruption was here!
...
"You're called Adam, right?" the young man let his breath escape him as he turned from where he had landed, standing to full height and looking at the pathetic, Corrupted figure with a sadness tainting his generally eased expression. Compassion had always been the feeling that burned brightest inside of his heart, it's what gave rise to his power to mend the broken and wounded, and it took every ounce of control within his body not to try to fix the thing standing there before him. He couldn't save it...he had to tell himself over and over that he couldn't save it...but there was one last mercy that any medic could perform for a patient beyond saving. One last thing that he could do for the Android, for the person that it had once been before the Corruption. "I'm sorry this happened to you..." his voice was low and purposeful...his fingers slid within his pocket and withdrew his weaponry, so small it was nearly invisible to the eye...and yet deadly between HIS fingers, "...I'll put you out of your misery. On my father's oath..."

Momoko Hudamora

As Momo had made it through the Corridor, she was glad that she had made it through. The fresh air and greenery that was around her was a pleasant change from what she was used to from the old time they were found. She took a few deep breaths to take in the delicious freshness that was gone from the Corrupted World. As she did, her companion bat Kyujobi had flown from underneath her shirt, having kept close to her to make sure that he would not be separated from her. Speaking of separated, she had noticed that everyone else was separated away from her except for Mashiro. And as she had noticed him, she also saw another familiar face. One that she was rather displeased of seeing. "Kujo, go look for the others!" Momo said to Kyujobi as the bat nodded silently, before flying away, following her mistress's wish to hopefully reunite all of the team together.
As Kyujobi had flown off, Momo had returned her attention back to the object at hand. The Anti-Shadow Weapon she had seen before. As she had put her guard up, Momo had retrieved a tube from her skirt and from it, summoned a blonde-haired demon. "So who do you want me to help out, Momo? Ah, you want me to help out that one guy, right?" The demon stated to Momo as she had withdrawn an array of surgical items, from scalpels to a group of needles. Momo only nodded "Yeah, he is the one that needs help, Fran." And with that, Momo retrieved her dagger from the small hidden pocket underneath her skirt, one that her father had given her. She was ready to fight.Quote: Momoko: Summon Fran Fran: Items: Trick Blade - [Blade is enchanted with Tetrabreak. A.D.A.M.A.N.T., Corrupted Anti-Shadow Weapon"Th..threats..identified. the Weapon called out, as it whirred a bit more, coming to life. It's eyes narrowed a bit, as it scanned at the two...before it lunged forth with a blinding speed, striking at Momoko, Her demon, and Mashiro with a surge of dark, yet blunt physical power that would strike through even the toughest of defenses. Even as the Corruption on it's body bubbled and shuddered, stunting it's former strength slightly, it was clearly not going to be a pushover. He had been built as a weapon, and it was at this time it would show what that meant to his targets. The black mass ran over his eyes at this, apparently clouding it's view..but letting it see it's foes for what it wanted them to.... "Purge of Corr...Uption in progress.." he called robotic ally, as he whirred back to a stance. They were contaminated....They were a danger to the world...and as the Ninth Generation Anti Shadow Weapon A.D.A.M.A.N.T., he would purge them. Quote: ADAM: Deathbound: High damage on all enemies Pierce: Physical attacks bypass Physical Resistances. (Save for Repel Physical) [All foes: Mashiro, Fran, and Momoko]

Mashiro Munakata, the Holy Basil of the Future "The ties that bind us aren't so weak."Even in the darkest of times it was important to remember sympathy; to spare that moment of thought and compassion for those who had suffered, those who had lost, and those who were lost was part of what kept those who still lingered human. It might have seemed naive from the perspective of someone watching him, but Mashiro couldn't help the consideration that he had offered the android, knowing what they were going to have to do to him...what the world required of them if it were to be spared the same fate that they had endured in their own world. For the good of not just this place, this country, but for every human in the world beyond, a Corrupted presence could not be allowed to escape the forest they were in now. Every second he endured put this world at risk. But that wasn't to say that the task in front of them was going to be any sort of easy, either. Adam was an android, created for the sole purpose of combat and to annihilate and counter the Corrupted anywhere and everywhere that they went. He didn't know half the details about the program in the end, because he had only heard second hand about the efforts of the Shadow Operatives in the Resistance, but he had seen enough of this thing in action that he knew the thing was a match physically even for him...and he was the product of his parents training...the rigorous process that produced a human at the absolute peak of their physical and mental powers. He was a human weapon...and even he found himself struggling when the Corrupted android launched its initial attack, a Deathbound strike that might have taken his head off if he had been caught unaware.
Fortunately, he wasn't...his fingers mingled in thread spread out on either side of him in a flash, a web of wires intricately laced in front of his face to repel the attack before it could hit him...only to tear and give against the Piercing strike, his natural agility allowing him to bend back and only reduce the damage without negating it hardly at all. It struck and he slid backward in a bend, one set of toes digging tightly into the grass and dirt of the forest bed to stop his skid after a moment...a trickle of blood from the corner of his lips sign enough that the strike had managed to put a dent in him. His sharp eyes shot back up as he straightened his back and watched the thing, internally loathing that it had come to what he knew it must. He didn't want to fight. He had promised his father...promised his mother...there were some things that he simply could not allow himself to do. Killing, malicious fighting, losing control in the midst of battle, but this...this was mercy. Once upon a time this unit had been as close to human as one could be...as human as himself, for all intents and purposes. He couldn't let him linger on any longer in this suffering...he wouldn't.
"Momoko, be ready..." the Holy Basil called out sternly, adjusting his collar as a trio of needles slid in between his fingers on the opposite hand, gaze never quite leaving the android as he spoke, "And don't get too close...we'll take him together when the time is right." Tactics and combat were arts he had learned from a pair of fighters as incredible as humanity had ever produced. And though he hadn't fought individually with Momoko as often as Anzu, he trusted her to work beside him. They were comrades...and now, they were all the other had to rely on until they could find the others.
...His feet kicked off the ground in a flash and his dash lead him in a circular pattern around the android; in turn, each of the three needles lashed across the field with a dangerous sharpness. Tiny as they were, his aim was nigh-impeccable...and if he could manage to thread any couple of these needles exactly where they were aimed, it was entirely possible that he could do a surprising lot of damage. Not that Adam would make any of this that easy, of course...

Momoko Hudamora

As the Anti-Shadow weapon had attacked, Momo was not fully prepared for it's piercing strike as it had hurt both her and Fran. Focusing on counter-attacking, Momo turned to Fran as she had put her hand onto the blade she had, it quickly becoming electrified. "Help out Mashiro!" Momoko had said to Fran as she then dashed into the Anti-Shadow Weapon, striking with the blade at the chest, being careful of what Mashiro had set up. On her summoner's wishes. Fran had dashed along to Mashiro, and pulling out from its coat, one arm procured a needle filled with a secret special liquid. "Here you go, Mashiro-san~" Fran had said as with a swift thrust, the demon had injected the serum into him. With a careful and steady injection, though fast enough to be able to pull out and have administered the medication to him, she pulled out the needle and moved it back into it's coat pocket.Quote: Momoko: Electrifies Trick Blade, Attack with Trick Blade Fran: Fran's Special Morphine Shot (Mashiro) Items: Trick Blade - [Blade is enchanted with Tetrabreak. A.D.A.M.A.N.T., Corrupted Anti-Shadow WeaponSome time had passed throughout their fight, with lots of injuries and close calls on both sides. Even with ADAM's corrupted, and distorted figure, he was still able to put up quite a fight...And the kids from the future, the hopes for a better humanity... They did better than his sensors could ever expect. As he jumped back from his latest assault, one could almost see him twitching and writhing, his own systems having been fired up in Orgia mode. He made all of the tells of overheating, and thus being their chance, but he seemed to almost shake it off, his own corruption keeping him from working his body enough to be completely fizzled out. "D..D..Disengaging.....Orgia..." he stammered, the corruption seeping around him, as if trying to cool his body. As he did though, his arms were lowered, away from his face and body, a sort of Charge surging through him. It was obvious that the next blow would decide the outcome of this fight...And while he hadn't overheated like the sister models before him... He had done one thing. He left an opening. Quote: ADAM: Power charge. [2.5x Next Physical attack] Pierce: Physical attacks bypass Physical Resistances. (Save for Repel Physical) ADAMANT is preparing for a final Blow...But has left himself open!

Mashiro Munakata, the Holy Basil of the Future "The ties that bind us aren't so weak."There were many things that Mashiro still wasn't sure that he entirely understood about their enemy; why was an Anti-Shadow Weapon still alive after being Corrupted? Why had he followed them through the Corridor and designated them as enemies in the first place? Didn't the Corruption require some sort of biological component to keep a creature alive after the Corruption had spread to them? And if so, did that mean that there was something still human that had been built inside of ADAM? What was more, he couldn't understand why this thing, as powerful as it was, wasn't more outright attacking them...why he was powering up but not attacking with all of that stored strength...but out of all that lay before him in this fight, all of his instincts begging him to be able to somehow repair this enemy and mend him as his powers were made to do, there was one thing that he understood implicitly from the look in the eyes of the Unit and the desperation of the fight between them juxtaposed with that last unexpected move he had made...
...ADAM was fighting the Corruption still, from within, and he had left them a golden opportunity that could not, would not be wasted.
"It is not murder. It is mercy..." he whispered to himself as he readied his body for the moment; Mashiro Munakata was unlike his father and mother in that he was not a killer, he was a healer and every bit of his will went into mending what could be fixed around him...but to think him weak was a mistake that none would make twice. In the end, for all his sharp instincts and skill with a needle, he was his father's son. And he was a Human Weapon the same as the rest of them...created for the sole purpose of surviving. And with the opening he had been given, he was more than capable of taking advantage. "Momoko, now," his words were quiet but sharp, knowing this opportunity wouldn't come twice. Though he didn't know the full detail of the Anti-Shadow Weapon project, he did know one thing...destroy the 'Heart' and you could destroy the Unit...and that was all he needed. "I will not kill you," he whispered as a clump of needles gathered between his fingers, the threads attaching themselves with a practiced ease, "...only set you free."
He moved in a flash across the distance between them; he did not toss the needles but jammed them all at once into the lower neck and upper chest where he knew the Heart to lie in the ASUs he had heard of in the past...and as he slid past, he drew the string tighter along with him, pinning an arm down to the side and moving to the other, wrapping, hoping to restrain in case Momoko's follow-through didn't complete the job he had begun. But he was sure of his work, as he was sure of anything...his fingers were a surgeon's but more precise, better. They were fingers that could both save and take life...by his own choice. By his own oath...
"I am sorry..."
...But what was done now was done...
