I'm not one to complain about Gaia and how they moderate the site or plan events, but COME ON.
Am I the only one disappointed that St.Patty's day this year is being celebrated with ONE forum and ONE contest - kind of a lame contest at that. 1 million gold if you win, "gee thanks Gaia, what with your irresponsible handling of your own online currency that's going to get me a whole bucket to spit in! But hey, maybe I can get a GREEN bucket for the holiday!"
What happened to events where there were art and poetry contests, games to be played, and user interaction? Why are we getting 10+ GC ads a day, sometimes the same ad repeated (essentially spam), and ONE ad for the St. Patty's "event."
I won't presume to think about where the money for all those GC items is going, but I do wish that there was more user involved content being released rather than items. Dressing up avatars has always been a fun part of the site, but it's just a PART of the site! Where are the events, the flash games, the adventures, the manga storylines, the competitions? I don't even give a crap about item rewards anymore because those only mean something when I feel like I've contributed to get them! I don't want handouts - I want the online community that I joined!

Oh yeah. You're definitely not alone on this one.
But then again, I totally saw it coming. Gaia has been focusing on the GC aspect of the site a lot more than anything else. I find it funny, BetterGaia even took the opportunity to create a "read all" for the announcements since they knew we were all getting SWAMPED with GC announcements.
If I remember correctly, Gaia also slacked off on the V-Day event, or I completely missed it because I wasn't paying very much attention.

I agree. I have to say, as much as I was annoyed with the announcements before, it really has gotten out of hand now. I really miss getting manga updates every week and the monthly video updates by Zero Omega ...
I'd like to add that I've never bought GC and just when I was really interested and was about to go buy 5 or 10 dollars worth, they released all of those gold generators, focusing on items and GC. That really turned me off to buying any.
I miss the old Gaia ... ;~;

It's just so frustrating because I've come to really enjoy my time on the site! I'll still enjoy things like the ball and RPs with friends, but it's going to be disappointing that the site will offer NOTHING else for people who don't have tons of GC laying around to spend every day.

I wouldn't worry about that. The mods have always been the definition of supportive with the ball and gone out of their way to help us out with things. I think the lack of event forums has more to do with Gaiaonline not focusing on creating them rather than having reasons for not wanting them. I'm also sure that Zero Omega or Princess Angelishia would have gotten into contact with our hosts if there was any reason we might not be getting a forum.
