Wing informationZaqueth, by AMIotic Wing: Fourth-Two
Fourth Two is one of the two disaster relief wings. Where conflict or natural disaster threatens or has devastated communities these individuals swoop in to rescue who they can and to deal with the aftermath. Sometimes their operations are quite quick (for example spending a few days re-routing a river that is threatening a cothold) while others may last months in the case of having to set up and manage refugee camps until people can return home or be resettled. Members of fourth wing are expected to be competent in combat should things turn ugly all of a sudden, but they need only hold things together until First Wing arrives and then offer support to the elite riders.
While the 4th wings do very important work they tend to be looked down on by the combat wings as not having been 'good enough' to make the cut into their elite club. The fact that a member of 4th wing needs rather different skills to those in wings one through three is often muttered amongst 4th wing riders and ignored by combat wing riders though of course this varies between individuals. There are a few more men than women in the 4th wings but only because High Reaches, due to a bias in Searching, has slightly more male riders overall.

Living space, Possessions & More Info
Living space: S'ol's weyr is fairly small but certainly not the smallest and the living space available inside is boosted by the fact that it doesn't have to house a bronze dragon. Set about half way up the northern-facing side of the Weyr it has space for Zaqueth (of course), a table with a couple of chairs, a couple of chests of clothes and possessions, and a small curtained off area for S'ol's bed. Pegs along the walls hold various items, and alcoves cut into the rock hold others. This weyr is not accessible from the ground.
Possessions
Gear: Sword: A basic shortsword, carried on duty. 4th-2 seldom get involved in combat but they must be prepared for the possibility of it! S'ol drills at least four times a week, hoping that he might be able to move up the wings. Shield: A round wooden shield. It is painted High Reaches blue with a grey-blue star at the centre, the design mimics the markings on Zaqueth's feet. Uniform: Brown leather flight jacket with a Searchrider's patch on the right arm, Special Investigator's brass badge on the right breast, and 4th-2 wingrider's knots on the right shoulder. Brown leather chaps worn over hose for flight. Sturdy calf-high boots. Brown leather flight cap. Flight goggles. Saddlebags: Attached to Zaqueth's harnesses the contents of these depends on the mission but they will almost always contain rope, spare glows, a first aid kit, and flint and tinder.
Personal items: A stuffed toy dragon: Much loved. S'ol brought this toy with him when he moved to the Weyr aged thirteen and it now sits on the little table beside his bed. Drum: A plain Bodhrán style drum. S'ol has been playing the drum since he was small and can happily provide percussion for other amateur musicians, or set the beat for a dance. Pressed flower plaque: On the wall above S'ol's bed is a small wooden plaque with pressed wild flowers attached to it, a birthday present one year from his younger sisters. Each flower represents one of the sisters.

Friend and Foe
‘Deru’ (Deruvene) - Dragon candidate - My squire. [Pending]
Kialynka - Drudge - [Pending]
L’ris of green Pennath - 3rd-1 - L'ris was my squiremaster. She's... well she can be pretty vicious - sometimes - but she's always been good to me and I still look up to her and we still talk a lot. I'm not sure I would say she's a friend; she's more like family, like an aunt or something. I can't agree with some of her political views though.
Vanavia of blue Horteth - Weyrling - I Searched Vanavia from HR Hold, and she Impressed from the stands not long after! As she's behind on training I'm mentoring her to try to help her get up to speed. She and her dragon are lovely, I think she just needs some help to break out of her shell!

Zaqueth - inspired by Gondor
"From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken: The crownless again shall be king."
Gondor is a kingdom of men in Middle-earth, bordered by Rohan to the north, Belegaer to the west, Harad to the south, and Mordor to the east. Its first capital was Osgiliath, moved to Minas Tirith in TA 1640. The city of Minas Tirith remained the capital of Gondor for the rest of the Third Age and into years of the Fourth Age; other major fortresses include Dol Amroth, Pelargir, Osgiliath.
Gondor was founded by brothers Isildur and Anárion, exiles from Númenor. Together with Arnor in the north, they served as the last strongholds of the Dúnedain. Gondor was at the height of its power in the early years due to the ship kings and the military might that their armies possessed. However multiple devastations caused it to gradually decline in course of the Third Age, being continually weakened by the allies of Sauron.
Sauron had prepared for the final conquest, and in TA 3018 his forces overran Ithilien. The attack was stopped at Osgiliath with the destruction of the bridge across the Anduin. The following year Minas Tirith faced a larger attack from Mordor, with additional threat from the Corsairs of Umbar. Aragorn summoned the Dead Men of Dunharrow to destroy the forces from Umbar, freeing forces in the south of Gondor to come to the aid of Minas Tirith. Gondor then defeated the army of Mordor with the aid of the Rohirrim in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, though with heavy losses. The combined army of the West then carried the battle to Sauron at the Battle of the Morannon, a feint to distract Sauron's attention from Frodo Baggins's quest to destroy the One Ring in Mount Doom, thus causing Sauron's destruction and the allies' ultimate victory.
After the second and final defeat of Sauron, the Kingship was restored, with Aragorn crowned as King Elessar of the Reunited Kingdom of Arnor and Gondor. Faramir, last heir of the Ruling Stewards, retained his office as the Steward to the King. The oaths between Gondor and Rohan were renewed, and several joint campaigns were fought in the east and south; all former territories of the South-kingdom were won back during the following centuries, and its power and wealth were restored. Several Tolkien's writings state that "of Eldarion son of Elessar it was foretold that he should rule a great realm, and that it should endure for a hundred generations of men after him, that is until a new age brought in again new things; and from him should come the kings of many realms in long days after."
Origin of Name - Za is an elvish syllable meaning ‘royal’ while ‘que’ is a syllable for ‘forgotten’ or ‘lost’. This is a reference to the disappearance of Eärnil II's heir Eärnur in answer to the lord of the Nazgûl’s taunting challenges to single combat. A long line of hereditary Stewards governed the realm after this, since there was no proof that the last king was dead, and no claimant had enough support to be accepted as his successor. The line of Anárion was held to have failed, and Gondor was not willing to risk to another Kin-strife, which would surely have destroyed it. Whenever there was a new Steward, he would swear an oath to yield rule of Gondor back to the King, in essence only an heir of Isildur, if he should ever return. In Gondor, there was no one who could claim descent from Isildur in direct line, and the northern line of Arnor had effectively disappeared, so this oath was not considered seriously. The line of Stewards ruled as Kings, without having the title.Zaqueth by Concinnity Blaise
