Avidan sighed softly as he downed another drink. At least the chew marks on his legs hadn't gotten infected. Nasty naga larvae. He grimaced. Hopefully Venus and her family hadn't actually been ingested by those things. He didn't exactly worship any of them, but he couldn't say he wanted to see them eaten, either. Hell, he wouldn't want his worst enemy eaten. The liquor burned slightly as he held it in his mouth a bit too long before shaking his head. Drinking wasn't going to solve his problems. Unfortunately. He'd tried that before. Never quite seemed to work in his favor, and usually worked in the opposite direction. An inelegant grunt escaped him as he stood. Maybe some fresh air would clear his head, help him think of a way to clean up his mess.

Oh nuts. Was this the direction she was supposed to go? The faunness looked up at the sky as she walked, trying to see the suns position. Well...I am still going North. Supposedly. Maybe it didn't really exist, a place where pae like her lived all in harmony? After spending all her life in the surrounding forest, she had seldom seen any pae like her. Not since her parents of course. But they were gone and she was lonely...
Oh...my. Amarie's eyes widened as suddenly a very large tree emerged on the horizon. Gigantic...with furry fauns like her scurrying all about! It was a real thing! It wasn't just a bedtime story! The female picked up her pace to get there sooner, a smile spreading across her face.

Avidan left the bar at a brisk trot. Working the alcohol through his system faster, he told himself. Totally how it worked, right? Right. Anyway, he'd be more likely to be able to think of a way to cover for having gone to the party if he was sober. Not that he'd had all that much to drink. Just a couple of glasses. He could still walk straight, and fly about as straight as he usually could. Not that that was saying a whole lot with the damage to his wings, but. Hey. Could be worse. He landed with a bit of a thud not too far from the Tree. He didn't want to wander off much if he was needed, or demanded, inside. At least it was a nice day out here, not too crowded. Just how he liked it. He wasn't exactly startled to see the female approaching, just not quite expecting to see a new face. He didn't know why he was surprised, seemed like new Pae were appearing almost daily. Still, he might as well go introduce himself. Half flapping, half trotting over he greeted her with a bit of a smile. "Hello there! Don't think I've seen you before!"

Caught up in her wonder, the female hardly noticed the half drunk winged faun drop from the air like a stone. Honestly, she didn't even notice him until he yelled. Her bright red eyes flashed over to him only to widen in surprise. Wha, what is he doing? An awkward sight if she ever saw one, the male caught between running and flying. Wait. Flying? Faun didn't have wings!
But he did. Maybe she was the strange one. Maybe she was supposed to have been born with wings but had a strange birth defect.
Oh, wait. He had said something to her and she was just standing there like a loon. She had stopped walking as soon as she had seen his strange attempt to get to her. "Oh! I'm...I'm new?" He seemed nice enough. It would be great if the first non-family faun she ever talked to was kind. "This place is...is gigantic. I never expected..." She quickly shook her head. She was being rude now. "My name is Amarie. But my friends call me Ama." Or they would if she had friends. That was what her parents called her.

Avidan smiled crookedly, giving the faun a friendly wave, "Nice to meet you Amarie, uh," he gestured around him, "Welcome to Laisidhiel! It's um, it's a pretty nice place to live. That is, if you're wanting to live here. Oh! Right! I'm Avidan. Resident gargoyle. At least that's what some people call me sometimes. I guess I don't really mind it." He fluttered his wings a bit, "If nothing else they're a good conversation piece. Uh, do you prefer to be called Ama? I can call you Ama if you'd like me to." He really needed to improve his conversational skills.

Laisidhiel. Her native home was called...Laisidhiel. She let the name settle in her mind before going back to the conversation at hand. "I can live here? Honest?" That was a positively thrilling concept to her. So many new things were happening, all because she finally decided to go out and see for herself! A gigantic tree, faun hunting, gathering... Apparently being a faun with wings was called a Gargoyle. That would be handy to know in the future. "You don't have to, if you don't want to." She awkwardly corrected, no better than he at the whole 'conversation thing'. Couldn't exactly blame her as he was the first new pae she had talked to in ages. "Nice to meet you Avidan..." The faunness trailed off as she peeked over his shoulder at the large tree. She didn't want to leave the company of a new faun, but she really wanted to continue to look around. "Say...can you show me around? If I'm going to live here I should know what it's like."

"Uh, yeah, I live here, it's really nice," Avidan really did love it here, he couldn't imagine living anywhere else, to be honest. "Nah, if Ama is what you prefer that's what I'll call you." She was staring behind him, was there something behind him? Maybe someone else coming over? He glanced back, no, just the Tree. He imagined he'd have a hard time keeping his eyes off of it too if he was seeing it for the first time, couldn't quite hold it against her. "Yeah of course! It's pretty big, as you can see, but it's not hard to navigate once you know your way around." He gestured for her to follow him, "Um, right this way if you will."

She fairly smiled from ear to ear as he agreed to show her around. "Thank you very much Avidan!" How nice of him! She wondered if all faun were so nice. And if they had great big wings like him. With so many holes in them, could he fly? She kind of wanted to see that. A flying faun.
She shook her head to clear her thoughts before trotting after his motion. "My parents told me stories but...I didn't really believe them." Turns out she was being the silly one there! "I heard there's a King? Do we have to pay respects to him?" A King Rays or Rice or something.Oziandra This rp is old as heck. Don't know what you want to do with it @.@
