General Information
Completely on the opposite side of the map you can find Ancalime Weyr. It was the second built on the Southern continent and is also the largest of the two weyrs. It is one of the few Weyrs that was not built into a caldera; the Pernese chose two mountains close together and have the rider weyrs set between the mountains facing each other on the sides. The weyrbowl is also set between the mountains to protect it from the weather and easy access for the dragons. Because the plasma cutters had given out before the weyr was built, Ancalime does not even come close to having the splendor or detail of Eamane. The wallsa re ruff and not all halls are straight and spacious. Some glows hang from the ceilings, some are on the left laying on the ground in the less traveled areas and a few were placed in makeshift crevices.
It has a capacity for 500 dragons.
When compared to Eamane, Ancalime is the more progressive of the two weyrs considering most of the weyrleaders have been male Copper riders. The male to female ratio is almost even in this weyr, search riders bring back all and any who have been deemed good for a dragon. The rules compared to Eamane are much looser, candidates are expect to adhere to them but usually punishment is light unless they have done something life threatening. Many of the more rowdy candidates are found in Ancalime or sent in from Eamane. There is however, little respect for Whers here and this often generates a bit of conflict. There are also many rumors circulating about the efficiency of the weyrleader and his dragons ability to clutch a Gold.
