Gavin's quarters is the large room of a Staff Officer, formerly belonging to the recently deceased CIC officer whom he is replacing. Since he just got it, it is still the bland generic room minus any of the old officer's things that haven't yet been removed. that is now pretty much completly empty minus one or two trinkets on the table left there by Gavin.

The elevator slid to a stop in the hallway outside, not far from the door with a blank name plate at the end of the hallway that the map on his padd said was Gavin's new room. He walked up to the door, pressing at the small button next to it labeled to open the door for authorized people. Since it wasn't yet emptied of the last occupants things completely, it had no key, and opened to his touch as easily as it would to anyone elses. He stepped inside, looked around the room, and let out a soft whistle as the door slid shut behind him. It was about as big as where he used to be resting, and on a warship that was a lot of space and he knew it. They treated their higher up's pretty well when it came to quarters, it seemed. He shrugged off his jacket, setting it next to the bed, its dirty brown rather obvious on the shiny grey finish... But at least the metal plate set down next to the jacket matched a bit better, as he shrugged off the metal vest he'd been wearing, almost forgotten. Roam the wastes for hours a day for months with that on the whole time your exploring, it became familiar. He felt like he'd dropped a huge weight as he took it off though, which he sort of had. It was a reasonably heavy metal plate. But several gouged scratches and indented holes showed why he wore it. It had saved his life time after time out there.

He looked around a little, finding a few small trinkets in places, a small golden chain on the mantle half hidden, a pretty little candlestick holder on the small table, things like that. Small reminders that someone else had lived here before him, and passed away recently. But he didn't have even the slightest of itchy fingers for the trinkets, instead noticing the clock on the wall shifting on the hour, and a small letter sitting next to it shift from a green B to a dark blue G. So, there was a little counter for keeping track of the shift next to the old twelve hour setting clock. That was helpful. It took a little fiddling before he had an alarm set to get him up at a reasonable time. Enough time to sleep and explore a bit before the shift changed again and he had to go in to CIC for his new work. Right now though, he'd been up for longer then he should have been, and his day was catching up to him hard. Between that and the pleasant fullness from the meal he'd eaten he was ready to sleep, so he did, stripping down and sliding into the comfortable bed as the lights dimmed down around the shift change.

((Because I'm going to bed, therefore a quick signoff, woo. Sleep well all.))

~~~Gavin Napier~~~
The odd sound of a new alarm intruded on the black space that had wrapped around Gavin's head, dragging him down into deep, dreamless sleep. The sound pried him awake as an eye cracked open, looking confusedly around for a moment as his mind spun up and told him what had happened yesterday, and where he was, letting him relax as he slid out from under the covers, and smacked the alarm off, before making up the bed quickly and starting to redress in the dusty clothes from before. He was going to need to find out where he could get these cleaned and get a shower. He rather assumed the ship had showers, seeing as the crew seemed in pretty good shape usually. He paused with the metal plate in hand as the doors of the quarters slid open behind him, and the sound of feet stopped. He sighed, turning to face the uniformed form standing there staring at the refugee in an officers quarters. "What are you doing here?"
"Would you settle for 'getting up from sleeping in my new quarters'?"
One look at the crewmans face before he even started trying to answer said it all for him, leaving Gavin to sigh and raise a hand to cut off whatever angry words were coming, as he walked over to the table, taking up the padd laying there.
"Let me keep this from becoming too angry or long a tirade. I assume you worked for the one who used to be in these quarters before the incident?"
The man's silence gave him the moment to turn the padd on, and set it to his new credentials, as well as validating his question. He turned the padd, extending it to the man.
"To keep this short, the captain asked me to fill in and replace them. It's all there."
He watched as the mans expression went from angry to annoyed as he looked down, shifting to incredulous then back to kind of angry again as he read over the documents, all of them perfectly correct, of course. Gavin's hand came out to take the padd back as the man got to the bottom of the document, handing it back automatically thanks to the fairly confirmed evidence that the dirtied up refugee was also his new commanding officer.
"Thank you. Now then, would you like help packing the last of the last officers things?"
He could almost have smiled at the look he got from the man. "How did you know?" None of the refugee's were military and that was pretty well spread out if Gavin's idea of the rumor mill on a ship like this was right, so in theory they wouldn't know.
"Your skipping out on your sleep to come to your old commanders quarters, which is mostly empty of his things. Either your stealing their things or packing them into storage somewhere, and I wouldn't question your fiber by even considering theft. So, would you like some help packing the last of this up?"
A few minutes later and the room was cleared out completely, Gavin handing the man a small box on top of his own, down some nice decorations minus the alarm clock which the man had said to keep, but up the knowledge that the Rec Lounge had showers in it he could use. All he needed now was a way to get his clothes cleaned... and presumably to grab a uniform. But, the man left his room, with him leaving soon after. At the least he wanted to take a look at the CIC now, before he had to actually go in there and try to take charge.
