Bee Sting wasn't sure he'd come to the right place. After having lived so long in Manehatten, the rural area of Ponyville's countryside was very strange and unfamiliar. He'd never been on the Bee family farm before, but as nervous as he was, happy excitement overwhelmed his anxiety. After all, he thought, it would be nice to settle into such a nice, quiet setting after being so worn down by the hustle and bustle of the big city.

Honey Dipper had heard the word muttered amongst her parents and older siblings about a family member coming to visit. Like many fillies her age she was overwhelmed with excitement and racing thoughts. She teetered between asking questions, and saying things that she thought her elders might find funny, or repeating some of the clever things they had said to occupy the time between here and there.
A cousin, she'd been told. She'd just finished her honey-oats, barely able to focus throughout the lunch. She kept peeking out the window, until her older sister, Queen Bee, decided to make a mall quip about it. Sticking her tongue out as hard as she could, she had headed towards the front door, galloping out into the yard to wait to see. Her 'idle' state was rather energized, which her mother lovingly referred to as 'buzzing'.
Yet, even so, when she saw her cousin approaching she felt a nervousness well up. "M-mom!! He's here!" She stopped dead in her tracks, rubbing one hoof on the other as she debated what she would say, what wouldn't be 'stupid', which was the worst thing her young mind could make up.

Plan Bee knew all about extended family coming to visit. He'd been that extended family, but he had come to stay rather than a short vacation. When the word had gone around the bee farm that a cousin from the city was coming, he was excited to meet yet another family member.
As was the norm for the unicorn, he ended up working right through lunch on a new beehive concept. He tapped his drafting pencil against his chin before adding a few lines to the sun porch addition to a traditional blueprint for a beehive. Flowers needed the sun to grow, he figured, so surely the bees liked sun. He knew they stayed in when it was raining unless they were desperate, so naturally they'd like a little outcropping to enjoy some rays when they were resting. Right?
A familiar voice caught his attention, one ear turning to the open window where, above the constant buzz of bees, his little niece called out to her mother. He set his pencil down and used his magic to slide open the door of the small barn that housed his workshop. Down the road he could see a pony heading their way, and he trotted out to join the little filly.
"I say, he's quite prompt, isn't he?" Plan Bee said with a grin. "Royal Honey said he'd probably arrive around lunchtime. Oh..." His grin fell a bit as his stomach rumbled. Right...lunch. Well, that could wait. He had a long lost family member to meet!

Not having expected to be so eagerly awaited, Sting was surprised to hear a filly's voice and raised his head, ears swerving to catch her words. He smiled wearily, tired from the journey but happy to have made it at last to this place that surely had to have been his goal destination.
"H-hello," he called to the filly, adjusting his rather full saddle bags as he walked up to the farm entrance. "Am I right in thinking this is the Bee Family Farm?" She was so adorable. Oh, and there was an adult! A unicorn stallion. He nodded timidly in greeting. "Hi, there."

Honey Dipper looked relieved as her uncle came to join her. hat little filly didn't appreciate the comfort of having a family member near? Someone she knew, someone to hide behind. It seemed to rejuvenate her previous excitement, giving a little bound and a buck. "Quite prompt!" she echoed, giggling at the rather funny voice her uncle had.
Lacking little tact and understanding of the concepts of leaving differences unmentioned, she was still young enough to blurt them out without thought. No doubt Plan Bee had more than once heard 'you talk funny'.
HoneyDipper gave a little gallop, circling him once to get a good look! "You can put your pack next to mine!" She quickly chimed in, noticing the saddlebags. She was quickly grinning in hopes that he would accept the honor of being her backpack-buddy.
"I'm Honey Dipper and this is Uncle Bee! He's you're uncle, and we're cousins!" She thought to remind him, tipping her chin up in pride for knowing such complex family structures.

The unicorn nodded in greeting as the new arrival spoke up, his tail flicking back and forth in excitement. The stallion was a rather tall and gangly thing for an earth pony, but who was he to judge? He was pretty gangly himself, after all.
"Welcome, good sir, welcome to the Bee Family farm! You are completely correct in assuming you've made it." He let Dipper introduce him and he gave a little bow of his head. "Plan Bee, that is," he said with a wink as he tossed his head high, his safety goggles bumping against his forehead. "There's a lot of family around here called just 'Bee', so we add little prefaces if it's required. So you may call me Plan Bee or Uncle Bee as you see fit. And...let me see, oh dear..."
He frowned as he tried to remember what Royal Honey had said this pony's name was. "...Bee Sting, was it?" he asked, looking at the new arrival curiously.

Fondly beaming at the filly's repetition of the unicorn's words, Sting chuckled softly. So cute. He still remembered when the pair of hooligans he'd looked after back in Manehatten had been that innocent. Not that they were any more tactful now than they had been then, but he highly doubted this little filly would grow up to be as immature as them. He looked forward to getting to know her better along with the rest of his previously-distant family.
"Can I?" he asked cheerfully as the young foal mentioned his pack. "Why, thank you. You must be the lady of the house with how in-charge you are." Trudging forward to set down his packs, he did so carefully and with a small grunt of effort as they slid off his weary back. Remembering something, he hurriedly re-adjusted his thick clothing, though it didn't seem all that cold out. Perhaps it had been colder where he'd come from or he hadn't yet quite adjusted to the temperature change.
He streched a bit and straightened before regarding Honey Dipper as she gleefully introduced herself and the unicorn, causing Sting to laugh. "Cousins?! Wow, I must be really lucky to get to be cousins with you. It's a pleasure to meet you, Honey Dipper. Uncle Bee," he said, respectfully dipping his head with a smile to the older pony. "Uncle Plan Bee. Thank you very much for the warm welcome! It's really nice finally getting to know this side of the family."
He was about to introduce himself in turn, but it seemed there was no need. "That's right; Bee Sting. But like you said, with a family name like 'Bee', things might get a little confusing around here, so if you want a shorter, less-confusing alternative, 'Sting' works just fine." Pausing, black-maned pony adjusted his shades and glanced down at his hooves a little sheepishly. "Thanks so much for having me; I can't express how grateful I am. I've been looking forward to this for a while now."
Though he dared not say so aloud, Bee Sting had been somewhat afraid they wouldn't have wanted him over. He wasn't sure what their family knew of his parents, but Sting himself had grown up being quite aware that they weren't the best mother and father around.Their reputation was pretty bad with his mom residing in a mental hospital and his dad having been thrown in jail after both parents had been caught by the police doing some shady business. Even before then, though, his father had been pretty neglectful of him and inexperienced in the ways of caring for a child. Sting was sure his father had been something like a 'black sheep' of his family.
As a result, he'd been taken in by a different family in Manehatten from a young age and had grown up alongside that couple's own twins. Said couple had usually been out and about themselves, though, leaving Sting alone with their two kids. That's why he knew so much about interacting with younger ponies. Still...it would be quite a pleasant change to be part of an entire family for once - one that knew the meaning of staying together.

"what a day..." Point said as his head hung low to the ground, trotting, with a slight limp, up the path. He had no idea how lucky he really was today, seeing he got away from a Manticore attack near the end of his trip. he had his saddlebags, though they were worse for wear, not to mention the dirt stains on hid coat and mane. one could say he was absolutely filthy. slowly he lifted his head to see in the distance the family farm, a wave of relief washed over Point, as soon he could take a warm shower.
after about 3 minutes of a slow trot he finally made it to the front gate, were he actually noticed both Plan bee and Honey dipper greeting a new pony to the farm. 'hmm, who is this?' the thought as he trotted up, giving a nod to honey dipper and Plan bee with a smile. "sorry, I'd stay and chat, but I'm beat, if you need me, ill be in the house." Point said as he trotted past the three, really looking worse for wear then he normally does. with the slight limp in his back right leg he let out a low mumble, disappointed he didn't find what he was looking for. soon he was in the house, and had made his way to the bathroom for a shower.
after the shower, he was nice and clean, though still sore from his trip. he soon went back outside, with a blanket in tow by magic, trotting over to his usual resting spot, an area a few feet from the house. laying the blanket down on the ground flat he then stood on top of hit and plopped onto the ground, his head resting on top of his crossed fore hooves. "ugh, what. a. day..." he said with a sigh, recalling the events of his little search for the day. finally he turned his head and began to watch Honey dipper be the little hyper active filly she normally was.
