Cora snapped her head to look at Peter with a small downturn of her lips. Well, no reason to fully frown at your uncle when he hasn't really done anything to annoy you...yet. However, she didn't know what to make out of his relaxed tone. Obviously someone died and here he is unconcerned. Though, it wasn't entirely unexpected. Narrowing her eyes as he stepped aside, she took a moment and looked back down the hall, wondering if it was in her best interest to go and investigate this. However, Peter's behavior did spark some curiosity -if not suspicion. He's always up to something and nowadays, it's usually not good.
❝ Just wanted to spend some quality time with my only uncle, ❞ she answered back after a few seconds of silence, feigning a joyous smile before it quickly fell. Taking one last look down the hall, Cora stepped inside.
❝ I see you put your money to good use, ❞she commented, her eyes roaming around the place. Neat, organized, cold, and so very Peter. Looks more like a show home rather than a place where someone lives. Either Peter is a clean-freak (which she wouldn't doubt) or he's rarely here unless needing to, which brings in to question what he does all day.
Now that's she here though, she can't bring herself to ask. How disappointing. She got cold feet. Mentally berating herself, Cora inhaled deeply before taking a seat on the couch, dropping her school bag beside it, and instantly melted on it. God, Peter may be a suspicious p***k, but he sure knows how to live comfortably. ❝ How do we kill these things? Knowing you, you probably got it figured out and just kept it to yourself. ❞
So yeah, she wasn't really going to talk about the vampires but seeing as someone just died (and they can confirm that thanks to Lydia and one of the twins' howls [she'll recognize their roars anywhere])- there's really no time for small talk. And mostly because she really had no outlying reason for her coming here. She just came. But it's best if Peter wasn't aware of that fact. ❝ ❞ x x x x x x x x

”What else would I have used it on? A flashy car?”
Honestly, yes. She would have thought a flashy car was more his thing. Then again, her memory of his silver car back when they were kids wasn't all that fancy now that she thinks about it. She chose not to answer his question, seeing as it might have been rhetorical in the first place. Instead, she rested her head back against the couch and withheld a groan of satisfaction. However, Peter decided to interrupt her comfort by replying to her earlier statement.
”When was the last time I kept information to myself when you or Derek have asked for it?” Cora raised her head and gave him a baleful before blinking it away and sighing. She can't really argue against that, whenever they asked, he would answer. Although, sometimes they would have to suffer through his banter before getting the information they want.
”It’s not my fault if you haven’t bothered to visit me yet to see what your brilliant uncle knows about these damned parasites. Then again that is the only time someone wants to know my opinion...and that’s only after something bad has happened. You’d think the two of you would have learned by now.”
❝ You could have called. ❞ Wasn't he the one always big on modern technology and how useful it was. Now he's saying that they have to personally come here and ask the correct questions? If she didn't know better, she'll say he was feeling lonely. Good thing she knows better. Rolling her eyes, Cora stood up and walked towards the window, enjoying the view but at the same time she was staring out into the city, wondering how the others were doing and where those menacing creatures could be. ❝ If you don't know just say so. I could spend my time better off searching the area for them. ❞
She turned around and stared at Peter, her arms crossed against her chest. ❝ They're mind readers and revenge driven, and it's obviosly you they're after. At least one of them, if according to what you told Lydia and Derek is correct. So, spill, how do we kill them? ❝ ❞ x x x x x x x x

”I guess we have to find the captain so we can get back to shore.” she heard Lucas say and she hummed in thought. So much for having a laid-back day. She figured if the captain wasn't here, they can take a few hours off and just enjoy themselves but it seems as if the whole act is still in play. These kids are really into their stuff. Least she was able to hung on a fine specimen's bicep. So nice and firm. ❝ Well, really, there's only so many places he can hide. We can always- ❞
”No, we’ve wasted enough time. If the Captain wants to hide, we’ll just have to make port ourselves. We don’t want to be late for the competition and get disqualified because of that.”
Well, she's in a sour mood. She kinda likes it. ❝ Oh captain, my captain. If those are your orders, then I shall obey. ❞ she winked. She wouldn't be surprised if her father left just to test his daughter's leadrship skills. It's either that, or the guy was passed out dead drunk between some barrels or something. That's a possiblity that seemed farfetched though. She doesn't know the guy that well but from his character, he didn't seem like the kind of guy that would drink till he drops. However, she was taken out of her thoughts when she heard two simoultaneous growls. Glancing between both the youngster's tummies, Jacquotte grinned and nodded. ❝ Ooopsy? ❞ she muttered before they were all turning around and making their way towards the kitchen.
"When did we get the fourteen swivel guns on deck?"
❝ Swivel what? ❞ she asked, looking back in confusion before looking at her. ❝ Is there a handbook for these things? You and Colt talk the same lingo and I don't have a clue on what you're talking about. ❞ she said, smiling and shaking her head before eyeing Lucas and grinning mischeviously at him, ❝ Or maybe you can take some times and teach me a thing or two, hm? ❞
Upon entering the kitchen, she saw the food and her grin fell into pleasant smile. ❝ Hello there Noah, Adrian...what's with the frown? ❞ Well, she already knew he was never a early riser, and most definitely a morning person, but no need for such a face.
❝ Should someone bring in the boys? ❞ she asked a second later after noticing they were the only ones there and by boys, she was refering Colt and Shangalang. She shrugged, more food for them if they chose not to come.
❝ So boys, how do you feel about your last day here? ❞
Noah just looked at her and grinned, shrugging a bit❝ I'll definitely miss it here. Truly been a great experience, almost felt like we are back in the ol' days sailing the seas with nothing to interrupt us. ❞ And here he goes again. She best interrupt him before he talks about the ocean once again and his travels. Not that she doesn't enjoy listening to him, but it's too early for stories. ❝ You sound as if the world is ending darling. Well, from what I hear, they do it annually? So you can join again next year... ❞

INDENTLast Pieces ▶ Personality :: Short-Tempered, Abbrassive, Belligerent, Brazen, Disobediant, Headstrong, & Self-willed ▶ History :: Jebediah was born to Jothan Atkins and Eliza Atkins, who died during childbirth. He had a very loving childhood as his father did his best to raise him on his own. As a child, Jeb was extremely friendly, having numerous friends and always did what he was told. His dream was to become a member of the guard like his mother. However, that all changed when his father was arrested for treason and conspiring to kill the Chancellor. Jebediah remembers every second of it. His father pleaded for his life, repeating that they have gotten the wrong man, that he was being framed. It was a mistake, he kept saying. No one believed him. All the evidence pointed to Jothan Atkins being guilty and for his crimes, he was floated.
Jebediah was left an orphan and sent to the Care Center.
As the traitor's son, Jebediah wasn't the most popular kid in the station and was constantly being harassed by the other kids. That didn't matter to young Jeb though. All he cared was that his father was unjustly floated. He mainly spent his days walking around the Ark, mindlessly wandering around and leaving origami figures around just because it wasn't worth taking it back to the Care Center. It wasn't until a couple weeks later that Jeb stumbled upon some guard member talking and mentioning his father's name in passing. Curious, he followed them to a secure location where he had ot hide in one of the main vents to eavesdrop. What he heard caused him to be filled with uncontrollable rage and hate, but knew he could do nothing but keep quiet and listen further. Apparently, the guard member was the one to frame his father to protect someone from the engineer department. Both men were part of a militia set to rally the people against the Chanellor and overthrow him and the others by any means necessary, so when his father found out about it when going through some of his mother's things (she was one of the original members) he did some digging around, causing him to get killed for it.
He watched the guard for a couple of weeks, keeping track of everyone he interacted with, especially the engineers-- hoping to find the one he was trying to protect. When he met with one engineer too frequently to be considered normal, Jeb figured he was the one the guard was protecting. So one day, after making sure to confiscating a pair of gardening shears from the agricultural department, he went waited until the engineer stepped out into the hallways before approaching him. He asked him if he can take a look at his watch since it stopped working. When the guy bent down to take a look, obviously annoyed to be bothered, Jeb quickly stabbed the guy in the neck and he didn't stop stabbing him until the engineer stopped moving. Already knowing he was going to be sent to the sky box, he tried to kill the guard member as well but was arrested before he can see him.
Obviously no one believed him about his father being innocent, nor did they care. All they saw was the murdering, traitor's son. Locked up for 4 years, Jeb was nearing his review date when he and the rest of the deliquents in the sky box were sent down to earth as disposable lab rats. He doesn't know whether this punishment is worse than getting floated, either way, both options involve him dying in the end.
Until then, he'll just make the best of it. All hail Jeb. Yippee.
