(AIM LOG - Between Painted Moose and Me)

The farther Will walked out of town towards the edge of the event the more she was apprehensive about the whole deal. She was supposed to be playing for the spring festival, something to mark some founder or another, but she couldn’t fathom why they had picked HER band. They were a hard core rock group, not a jazz quartet…

With her hands shoved down into her pockets, she kicked at a few stones and moved around to the stages. There were Poke’mon battles for prizes, breeders showing off their wares, among other such things. Maybe she could just distract herself for a while, at least long enough to get her mind off pre-performance jitters.

=================================================

Kenna frowned as she moved quietly around the stages and set up stands. There was so much going on today! Her trainer had already disappeared to sign up for the beauty contest and the litleo was making certain to hightail it away as quickly as possible. She was too wild to be suc a tame cub like the others. Though Sierra had managed to weasle her into wining some trophies before Kenna found it dull.

Even the fighting part just was supposed to be pretty as her flames danced and awed the crowds rather than traumatize her opponent. Her claws liked to dig into things and she wanted to feel tough not pampered! As she thought that the litleo stumbled into a stray rock and hissed in surprise.

Stupid thing...

As she stumbled she noticed more movement of stones. Where were they coming from?! Gaze narrowing defiantly Kenna began to move until she saw a tall girl...err boy? Poke-human standing before her. Sending out a 'mrr' of protest she pawed a stone back towards Will with a glare.

======================================================

Oh, now this was an interesting turn in events! Will quirked her brow, the head of her tail coming around to grin at the litleo. After all, what was more intersting to the tail than something to bite? "Woah, sorry, didn't mean to kick them at you." At least, that's what she assumed had happened. Why else would the little poke'mon be kicking them back at her with such an expression?

=======================================================

Flames dancing her eyes Kenna kicked one more towards the poke-human before standing tall. She didn't need to reply to this! Yet at the same time despite standing tall Kenna seemed curious. Why did this poke-human look so strange? Noticing the tail she frowned before waltzing around to circle Will. Her trainer would definitely have a picture of this on her walls.

Pausing back infront of Will Kenna looked up and tilted her head. What was this person doing even? Was she avoiding things as well or actually participating here? Not like I should even care...but still. She was really bored after all...

========================================================

Standing tall, definitely so by human standards, the teenager waiting for Kenna to finish her assesment. Only just barely did she manage to keep from rolling her eyes. If this wasn't such a common occurence with Poke'mon and humans alike, then she might have been nervous, but not here. "Are you just gonna stare, or do you have some place to be?" She didn't ask it rudely, just bluntly. As much as she wanted to put her mind off stage matters, she didn't particularly like being looked at that way by a litleo with a bell around her neck.

========================================================

Kenna frowned at the blunt statement before finally nodding, "That's what I was wondering about you...do you really want to be here too?" She replied quietly a look of distaste as she glanced around again. Sierra would maul her, but she really didn't want to do anymore dancing today. Others could be proud of it...but it was such a waste.

"Wanna skip?" She asked quietly dodging around Will's legs as another beauty contestant passed them by. The litleo's attitude in that hiding had shifted to reveal a less haughty cub, but more of a mischevious one.

=======================================================

Will shrugged. "I have a gig." It was as simple as that. Whether or not she wanted to be there wasn't a real concern to her. Money was what let her still be able to do her passion, and it was money that had called her here. Besides, what else did she really have to do besides cleaning houses with her trainer and sister? "Can't really skip, but-" Pulling a cellphone out of her pocket, she checked the time before slipping it back. "-we could dodge out for a bit."

=======================================================

Kenna's gaze saddened a bit at the initial reply. So she was true to her gigs then? A bit of guilt flashed through her, but the cub shook it off. She wasn't the one trained for today's events anyway. That was for the others...today was actually a day off for her. Sierra just wanted her to learn more about the other's techniques, but Kenna didn't want to sit still for so long...

"Dodge out for a bit?" Kenna's gaze instantly lit back up, "Really? What can we do?" The cub grinned up at the guy with a purr softly escaping her. She could wander around now and not have to worry about everything for a bit!

=======================================================

What could they do? Will looked around the festival grounds with a vague, passive look that took in more of the scenary than she had before. She'd just passed by alot of it without thinking, but now it actually had some appeal. "Have you eaten yet?" That seemed as good a place as any to start, though she wasn't sure what would smell/taste good to what she assumed was a meat eater. "We could grab a bite, and then wander around for a bit."

========================================================

Food? Kenna blinked up at Will. She hadn't thought about that...but it had been right before Sierra went to order food that she had disappeared. The thought made her stomach rumble and the litleo looked away with embarressment, "Food sounds good!"

Stepping forward she rubbed her tail around Will's leg before going on, "There was this one stall that had a good smell of meat being roasted! It was on some weird stick thing though..." Her trainer never let her have things like that normally, but it seemed so delicious!

=======================================================

Nodding her head, Will stepped around the litleo, taking all of Kenna's touchings and rubbings in stride. It wasn't as if she wasn't used to it, though it was odd out of a Poke'mon who'd been content to growl at her upon their first meeting. "Kabobs? I think there was one near the stage." Will started walking, measuring her steps so the shorter legged creature could keep up with her easily. For the most part she avoided the crowded areas with the grace of someone who was far too used to doing this. As she walked, her tail's eyes never left Kenna, it's grin growing with every little bob and weave. It opened it's mouth at one point to let out a breathy hiss, and then closed it once more.

=======================================================

Kenna let out a small meow of amusemtn at the name, "Kabobs?" It sounded rather funny, but they had smelled so good..."Alright then let's find them then!" While she was pretty excited over the idea of this strange, new food the litleo finally looked around to notice Will's tail again.

As it hissed towards her she couldn't help but to hiss back quietly in response. She definitely was going to keep her distance from that thing. After all she didn't want to pick a fight with the tail of someone who was finding them food! Though it was rather tempting to reach out and smack the thing...nope, nope, nope! Kenna shook her head stubbornly before going on

========================================================

It wasn't long before the Girafarig brought herself up short infront of the stall. There were a few people infront of them, but nothing that a little waiting wouldn't take care of. "Can you see the menu or would you like a hand up?" The stall came to her waist, and even though the smells were varied, the actually food itself wasn't on display. That didn't stop her tail from swining from Kenna to the person infront of them, sniffing at their arms as they munched on popcorn. When they were turned it snagged a bit for itself, then turned back around, staring at Kenna while it ate. That is, until Will gave a half turn to look at the litleo

======================================================

Kenna found herself staring back towards the tail. It was such a mischevious thing! She looked back towards her tail with a frown...it never did weird things like that right? As Will turned back towards her the litleo flushed lightly before shaking her head, "Just get something that has a lot of meat on it!" She smiled brightly, "That'll be fine~"

Mmm food sounded delicious.

She was slowly though becomming aware of the time ticking away around them...the longer she stayed away the more likely Sierra would pick up on her disappearance. Sighing the litleo shook the thought away before watching the stand some more

=======================================================

Something with a lot of meat, huh? Ugh, like that wasn't everything at this stall. When she made her way to the front she ordered something that looked meaty, something about three flavors, and a Vegetarian version for herself. Once the food came to her, she hawked over the cash, slipped her chained wallet back into her pocket and exited the line. Holding both kabobs in her hands, she bent down to give the meaty one to Kenna. "Here you go. Try not to choke on the stick."

===================================================

Kenna pounced the thing qiuckly and bit through a piece of delicious meat before looking back up towards Will, "Kay!" It came out muffled though as she quickly was chewing through the food. It was so so good! But hot..she made a face before blowing on the food to cool it down.

Quietly she enjoyed her food with faint purrs escaping every bite or so. Frowning she looked up towards what the guy had with a sigh. He was missing out on the glories of meat with that choice...her comment was stopped by the chiming of a clock.

One...two...three? THREE?

Kenna's gaze flashed, "Oh no!" Swallowing one last bite to finish the kabob she looked up at Will, "I'm so glad you helped me with this!" She smiled warmly, "If we ever meet again I'll make it up to you somehow! But if I don't go now I'm dead!" Dropping the stick from her mouth the litleo turned and began to dash away through the crowd.

Even as she got chastized later on Kenna still thought it was worth it to get such a delicious meal from a nice stranger, even if their tail was weird...she just wished she had had more time to wander around with them more. Maybe one day...they would meet again.

========================================================

Will stayed bent over like that, holding the stick out for Kenna while munching on his own until she seemed on the verge of a panic. Her eyes drifted to the clock, and frowned a little herself. "They're going to kill me..." She murmured. The stage crew was due to set up over an hour ago, and the testing was supposed to happen...well, now. Still, her attention was taken up by the litleo. Simply nodding, she stood with a little semi-smile, one hand back in her pocket and the other picking at her Vegetarian kabob. Well, today had certianly been interesting, at least.
