It would be a good amount of time till the burning building had been put out, and the owner of the jewelry shop would have to leave due to aid with the rest of the people of the town. This left Xaris with no choice but to leave the shop. She found it a bit unnerving that the boy had not shown his face. She had not seen him for awhile now, but if he was going to stay hidden then perhaps she could use that to her advantage. Following the old man to the site of the burning building she watched as several injured people were being pulled out of the area. Likely they were burned due to attempting to put out the building fire. She decided that she too would aid them, at least to keep these people as a sort of shield if that boy decided to attack her. If this boy wanted her to be at a disadvantage in the opening Xaris would surely find a way to make it her advantage.

As he obtained a basic list of what spells Xaris had to offer, he watched as she exited the store with the old man. He would have to act quickly he knew for certain and he grasped his Gunblade, drawing Dispel from her just as he stepped out of the crowd just as she turned her back to where he had been hiding incognito, about ten feet away from one another. His Gunblade was pointing right at her as he called out. "Where do you think you're going?" His eyes were analzing her without a shred of mercy, "Afraid to fight me hand to hand?" Goading her for sure...but if the fight evolved to that, it would be most helpful. He was prepared for her...

Xaris continued to stay by the man as she watched the people that were injured were moved to a safer location. It was quite interesting that today she would have to fight someone here in a peaceful town. It wasn't her intention but this boy wouldn't leave her be no matter what so it was her only option, and she would survive no matter the cost. To her surprise though the boy would not be that far from her, hiding among the crowd for cover he would reveal himself and aim his gunblade at her. A simple question spoke from his mouth. She gave a smirk and spoke back. "Why just waiting for you to show up is all, and here you are." She gave a smile and a amused look in her eyes. Then the boy's next comment would amuse her even more. Did he honestly think that she would fight him head on again? "Quite an enticing idea but I'll decline that offer. I much prefer a nice distance between us." She spoke back as if his question was an idiotic one. She had kept her grip on her revolvers and now they too were locked onto him. It was a stand off as the crowd of people backed away once again creating a bit of an audience for them. With haste still active she had a bit more confidence in her speed. With her revolvers in hand and now accurately aimed at the boy. Her fingers gripped the revolvers triggers and pulled immediately in unison with the next word she spoke out loud. "Gravity" The spell would be on top of the blonde, and not only that Xaris unloaded bullets from ten feet away and they would be flying right at him as the spell kept him in place.

"Not for long." He muttered darkly, right as gravity hit he whispered his own spell. "Firaga!" Both Xaris's spell and his were announced at the same time, with his spell landing where Xaris's feet were, erupting in a powerful explosion. Fire erupted as if a large bomb had gone off where Xaris had been, Riyel taking the brunt of the Gravity spell but forcing himself to move, rolling to his left as a few bullets shot through where he had been. The spell that caused him a good deal of pain, but it was there and then it was gone. <********> Holding his Gunblade tight, he stood up and prepared to dodge or attack...

As Xaris thought she had gain the upper hand this blonde boy would prove her wrong when at the last second of her firing and casting a spell he was able to cast a spell of his own. The firaga spell blew towards her feet and once she had noticed the spell coming at her which was less than a second away all she could do was Jump back with the force that which the firaga spell produced sending her back into the air. She barely managed to land on her feet and skid a bit as she landed. Some parts of her clothes were scorched from the spell, and the spell itself did her no kindness. Her body felt weak and bruised. Likely some places were burned, but now Xaris was really getting angry. Her breathing turned to panting and her calm demeanor was replaced with an aggressive one. She no longer held onto her revolvers. She reached for her scythe and removed it from the strap on her back. "Fine. You want me close to you I'll come close to you. Then I'll end your life like I did to that girl. You know the one who always calls her lover kitten.....Cura" The light formed around Xaris healing the wounds that injured her during the blast of firaga. She was more determined than ever now to end this boy's life. Memories of that battle with Tae seemed to burn into her head making her anger rise even more. She really hated her, and now that hate was beginning to turn on him. He wanted her to come close so she would to a certain extent. She had more range with her scythe than the boy did with his gunblade. She just had to be weary about him firing at her.

Tae...so she had been the one. And honestly, Riyel was not at all surprised by this bit of news. This girl had been in and out of his life, and she managed to take someone he could call a friend out of it. He was not Lloyd, who would release righteous anger upon her form. Nor was he Nona, who would could and calculatedly finish her with an icy steel resolve. No. A cold anger burned in his heart at the mention of the death of Tae...and he was not going to let her go. He was not the most prominent of the three Leaders. His face, other than Lloyd's, or name was not as well known...but she would surely recognize one thing. He stood up, the pain from the Demi spell all but ignored as he glared at Xaris. His eyes turned cold in the warm weather as he gripped his Gunblade tighter as she spoke.
"You know my brother. He hurt your friend. You know..." He paused for a moment, "Winchester, someone close to my heart. You don't however." His voice became laced with a cold hate, "know me. You just know what the Unbroken call me. What your Organization calls me. I. Am. The Ringer. You won't kill me you pathetic little girl, you sealed your fate HERE," The world seemed to halt as his eyes stuck upon her frame, "When I am done, you will be nothing upon this earth. Not a fragment of you will remain for anyone to weep over. Like the hundreds of soldiers I've killed, I will BURN your corpse and scatter it where noone will ever FIND or REMEMBER you, a memory no one calls their own!" It was at that moment that Riyel cast Dispel, removing the Haste buff that he knew Xaris had cast upon herself. "Come accept your death, wench."

Xaris gave a smirk to the boy's comment. "Your not the only one with a title. I have earned mine by how I kill. You don't scare me one bit, you and your friends killed my team and you will pay for that. I am the sadistic purple haired maiden. Anyone who gets in my way will be cut down from this world. You are next on my list." Xaris smiled and now her eyes gave a bloodthirsty sadist look at the boy. Her hatred now burned ever brightly. No it wasn't just the girl who killed her lover now that she wanted to kill. No it was anyone who was there and responsible for the attack in the first place. She wanted them all dead at her feet. This boy would become one of them. There was no going back, she would bring them all down if she has to in order to get her revenge. Now Xaris charged at the boy but not in a linear path. She was moving from side to side in a zigzag like pattern till she brought her scythe in a upward left diagonal swing and if the strike had missed she would use that moment to be prepared to strike once more should he attempt to hit her.

Riyel could almost laugh at her threat. "Accept your fate, Maiden." And at that point she charged, her Haste was gone, he held his Gunblade and moved not a muscle, waiting for her to make her move. It was something his father and he practiced. Waiting for the perfect counter offensive to level an unwary foe. This was the perfect time to execute that, and he knew it. So he stood, holding his Gunblade in a ready position as he watched Xaris move, waiting for her to deliver the blow he knew was coming. And then it happened.
Xaris swung her blade, Riyel moving just as quickly as she did. Her weapon was bladed only at one end, and he knew this. The blade swung over his head, the momentum still carrying from her strike and leaving her in front of him, her scythe swinging above as he brought his Gunblade down, swinging and pulling the special trigger behind the normal one. And then the explosion happened. Within the Gunblade's chamber, the three spells of Fira, Thundara, and Bio unloaded all at once in a forward explosion, striking in wide radius and moving forward, encompassing all within it's blast radius. And that was exactly where Xaris was as Riyel finished his swing. The damage would be even worse if the blade had managed to hit her as the explosion happened, but he knew the explosion was what would end it.

Her plan of striking him would fail. It seemed this boy was far more ready to counter her than her plan of hitting him was. As soon as she had brought her blade to him he dodged back and was preparing to bring down his blade. Did he assume that this wasn't something she couldn't get out of? If he did then he would of met with a disappointing result. Once her strike had missed and he had begin to bring down his blade Xaris may have had her blade raised away from him but she was still able to move it with excellent speed. As his blade was brought down she finished the momentum of her upward strike and smashed the butt end of her scythe against the ground pushing her immediately out of the way of the blade. Though she managed to avoid the blade the explosion made her flinch as she was in the air getting out of harms way. The explosion had followed the path of the cut which was unique in its own way. Normally gunblades didn't produce explosions of that magnitude. His must of been very different from others besides having such a unique barrel. She kept back a bit getting a deep breath considering if she had stayed in that spot she would of likely died. Still she kept herself in a defensive stance keeping her eyes on him. She did not move, but instead she stood her ground ready for him to make a move should he do something.

He missed. She was so damn lucky...but it was just a miss in general. The blast itself took out whatever was standing close to them but he was not paying attention to it. His mind was on assault. It was a cold, calculating thought process and wouldn't stop until the purple haired harpy in front of him lay bleeding and broken. As soon as she moved, dodging the blade itself, she landed and flinched due to the wave that came from his weapon. And it was as she landed and flinched that he rose his right hand from his Gunblade and pointed it at her, Firaga. The blast of fire shot forward towards Xaris, who was just landing and probably trying to shake away her reaction from the explosion. The explosion itself blew Riyel's hair back just like the Overdrive had...but he still was wary. The Ringer would not let her rest. He felt no wear. No pain. It was as soon as he fired that he stood, holding the Gunblade in both hands once more, loading a spell into the chamber quickly as he stood watching, ready to react if she survived that blast on her own.

As she readied herself for him to attack she heard him mutter the words Firaga at her. She wasn't sure if he expected her to be unprepared for an attack but she wouldn't just let the spell hit her. "Reflect!" The spell would do it's effect as the firaga spell went right towards her. The spell would be sent right back to Riyel and she would quickly sheath her scythe and pull out her revolvers. As the spell would erupt she would keep her guns locked on Riyel and wherever he may of ended up landing she would be sure to unload all she had on him. During this fight Xaris had definitely worked up a sweat. She had drops of sweat leaving her face, and it didn't get that bad till Riyel had tried to kill her with that blast earlier. She was sure she would of died if he had managed to hit her with it. This was definitely a rare time she had to worry about the range she had on him, because it didn't matter if he was close or far he was skilled in both aspects, and he definitely had the magic to fight at a distance as well. Though she wouldn't give up. She had come to far to just let this boy kill her, and she would be damn sure to make him regret fighting her.

Even as RIyel charged, he did not fear. Even as the Firaga went right back at him, Riyel merely snarled as held his blade tightly, juking to the left as the blast went past his frame. His juke placed him by a large tree about ten feet away from Xaris as his hand aimed upward at the building directly behind her, his body moving forward with his right arm holding the Gunblade astonishingly well. Fira. The blast itself shot forward, not even aiming for her but the support systems of the building behind her. The fira erupted on the wooden frames and the building in all of its stone and wooden glory, began to fall in their direction...specifically Xaris's.
