Time Frame? ???

The Imai had been poverty stricken inside the Rukongai district long before Mana had ever been born, it was a miracle the family was able to function. Two boys and two girls were born into the family and each of them did all they could to survive, except for the more carefree of the young souls, Mana. Ever since he was a child he never too much of the situation they were in seriously, causing resentment from much of his family, all except his mother who loved him dearly to no end. Everyone in the Rukongai knew they boy because of his constant smile, he smiled so widely it was as if his eyes were forced shut from the muscles he used to keep those white teeth showing. He often got free scraps of bread just for being so cute, however this was only enough for himself and so he kept it all hidden from his family. As his brother grew up and left without warning one day Mana felt completely at a loss, his brother was his closest sibling and without him there was an empty void he found himself trying to fill. The only one who took it worse was his mother who became sick soon after the loss of her first son, she was rarely out of bed although this opened new opportunities for Mana and his immense curiosity. This eventually led to his dangerous hobby of venturing off into the unprotected forests of the Rukongai running into all manner of threats as he did so and evading them stealthily. This new way of finding an adrenaline rush soon became something he couldn't stop, and the dangers were closing in on him rapidly.

It was one particular day he was venturing through the forests, hopping from tree to tree watching the few number of hollow below go about their business, he went considerably deeper than normal that day and he remembered running into a more cunning and deadly hollow. For a moment he thought himself caught as the hollow halted its movement and looked around constantly, although it soon disappeared and with his heart thumping Mana returned home. It wasn't until that night he realized what he had done, the screams of his sisters echoed through the other room as a crashing sound awoke everyone, Mana and his mother entered and saw a hollow tearing through their home, his two sisters running to the safety of their brother and mother. Mana and his mother told the girls to run as quickly as they could and they wasted no time in doing so, however instead of following as well Mana's lack for safety once again put him in a dangerous spot. Heroically he attempted to work as a distraction against the beast, the darkness hiding most of its figure and menacing size as he hollered at it smiling and waving his arms. It happened in a flash, Mana never knew something could be so quick or painful in his entire life, the feeling of his gut being thrashed by a beastly tail sent him flying into the wall of their home. He could feel ribs cracked and broken and his leg felt mangled from the impact as well, he could barely register the fact the hollow was coming toward him now to finish the job. Just as the monster bent low before him ready to consume his soul he caught a glimpse of the mask of the beast from a flickering candle in the home, just vaguely making out the same hollow he had seen earlier today, it clicked with him then that the hollow followed him to the village, and had indeed realized he was being watches.

A wave of grief washed over him, he closed his eyes waiting for the final blow to come but it never did, instead he heard screaming and the sound of something heavy smashing against the grotesque body of the hollow, he was able to pinch his eyes open just wide enough to see his mother throwing large rocks at the hollow, her eyes meeting with the slumping body of her son and smiling in a regretful manner toward him, as if she knew this was his doing but did not hate him for it, instead she still worked to save him. She was able to successfully grasp the attention of the hollow, the last vision he had being of his mother running off out of the house leading it away into the forest. Mana tried to follow, his leg busted and his chest heaving and searing with pain after each breath but he pushed on until he reached the edge of the forest, reaching the first set of trees before blacking out. He was far away from the forest and his own home when he awoke, he was in bed and practically strapped to it, a small family explaining he had tried multiple times to escape the bed and he was in no shape to move. He was forced for four weeks to do nothing but sit in bed, sleep, eat, and cry every second he was awake, it was humiliating and the only thing keeping him from dying was his wish to find his mother and reunite with his family, he was the only man they had left in the family and he couldn't afford to leave them too. Once he was well enough he thanked the family who saved him before escaping back towards his own home, his body was weak, he walked with a cane and was heavily bandaged but he didn't stop until he could see his home in the distance.

His sisters seemed to be mourning something, he didn't understand at first but after seeing that they were both holding daisies he assumed the worst, believing his mother was dead. However he saw no body nearby to indicate such, although what he did see shook him even further, lotus flowers, his own favorite were draped around a second grave. He realized his sisters thought him dead as well, this thought made him cringe however he came to the conclusion it was better this way, he was too full of guilt to return to a broken family that would shun him after learning the truth behind the attack. He instead left them to their funerals and decided that he would either find their mother or kill the beast that cut her down. He wasn't very strong but despite this weakness he wouldn't be able to face his family again unless he could destroy the monster that hurt them all so dearly. He began his search for the beast right away, starting with the forest where he first sighted the monster, he was a lot more careless with his approach now, feeling that all was lost and being too beat up to use his normal route in the trees branches.

It took him about a week to finally track down the beast to a cave not far from the forest, it was a disgusting place full of rotting flesh and piles of bones, as he searched for any sign of the beast within he only came across more and more dead the deeper he went. One such dead person caused him to fall back and cry out, his mother was slumped against the wall of the cave her body untouched and as alive as ever however her eyes were dead and her heart had stopped. He cried out in such agony and rage that any hollow within the cave would have been alerted, he no longer cared as he was blinded by revenge, only wanting to slaughter the monster who had killed his mother, his own carelessness costing the lives of others was never something he intended to happen and it made him feel like a creature from the darkness himself, plaguing on people and leading them to ruin. He was soon found by the hollow which now in the light shining through the tunnel looked menacing and hungry, clearly remembering the man and realizing that his prey was weakened he took little time to pounce upon him.

Mana was careless but not stupid, he had brought a blade with him in order to fight the beast, the weapon was worn but it was all he could afford with what little money he had been given to travel with by the kind family who had tended to him. He was no sword master though and he was not in good shape, fighting would prove a terribly tough task especially against such a terrible foe, but he did not give in, even if it cost him his life he would at least try his hardest to repent for his sins against his family. He slashed blindly at the monster as it closed in on him, the hollow had slew its fair share of warriors and was able to deflect most of the unskilled stabs, only taking a few nicks and one noticeable cut on its tail, one which nearly cut it off. Soon however Mana was overwhelmed and he found the monster clawing the sword from his grip and with large black talons for hands it grasped at his throat and lifted him high into the air. He let out a strangled cry which was muffled by the blood spitting from his mouth, the talons wrapped so tightly around his neck he could feel them dig in and cut up his throat terribly, blood began to shower his body from the neck cuts and pool from his mouth. His vision dulled and he wondered if what he did actually could ever make up for the death of his mother, someone so many people admired, something he would never achieve.

It only took a moment for him to recollect what happened next, one moment he was dying and the next he was on the ground, tossed away by an angered hollow with a sword in its gut. His foggy vision was deceiving him for when he looked around the beast what he saw was his brother, it had to have been a hallucination as the elder brother he knew left years ago. However it couldn't have been false, he was much older looking, Mana could never have created an image of his older brother in his mind now, he looked so different, but why was he here. He couldn't think of anything at the moment, before he knew it his sight was gone and he was floating in darkness hearing faint echoes of a struggle before those too died down. When he opened his eyes again he was outside of the cave and slumped a few feet away from his elder brother who mysteriously and heroically came to his aid. It was evident by the look in his eyes that Katsuo understood what had happened, that his brother's foolish carelessness costs the life of their mother, he had a certain hardness about him that Mana never knew, and he felt the relationship between the two would not be the same again.

After that incident Mana disappeared for some time. He remained dead to those who knew him, feeling he didn't deserve to be part of a family he destroyed, he was adopted into the family who had found him after the first attack and devoted himself to becoming stronger spiritually. His efforts were not in vain as after a couple decades he was scouted by the eighth division for his high spiritual pressure and admitted into the academy. Throughout his time within seiretei he went under a different surname, that of his new family the Nichirin household, and he quickly made a name for himself in his great connectivity with his zanpakuto. He was elected Captain after only eighty years in service to the gotei elite and his stay was even more brief, only serving a mere fifty years before finding out his brother was among the newly elected captains. He removed himself from office and after receiving permission from the Captain Commander left for the human world to help strengthen the strength between himself and his zanpakuto spirit. This was allowed so long as he would return if she ever ordered him to do so, something he promised before leaving and setting up in a mountain range in the human world which was uninhabited, only the wildlife for miles upon miles giving him more than enough room to train, which was good as his spiritual pressure was so fast it was known for stopping humans from breathing under its immense pressure.

He spent his time in the human world wisely, under the radar, in such a remote area that even the ninth division were unable to locate him, let alone know of his existence in their territory. He trained day in and out, spending most of his time within Jishinmusume's spirit world where they strengthened their bonds, as Mana always believed the bond between user and weapon was more important than training with abilities and powers, the strength between ones bond with their zanpakuto was the ultimate decider. The particular relationship in this case was arguable the strongest in the entirety of all shinigami, Jishinmusume was quite literally like an extension of her wielder's body and Mana was very dear to her. The two of them spent many years together working with one another to become the perfect captain, as well as helping Mana forget of everything that happened in the past, it was so long ago he could barely recall most of it.

It seems as though his peaceful life was not meant to last, the massive amount of spiritual pressure he was releasing on the remote island was too powerful and finally managed to attract unwanted attention in the form of a beast even Mana couldn't fathom. The Vasto Lorde. It was something that the young former captain had never seen before, he knew from his time in the gotei elite that the amount of vasto lorde was small but they were conceivably strong and there were only very few known. He knew it was such a high class hollow due to the powerful aura it emitted, it was something akin to his own immense power however it was shrouded by blackness and reeked of death. The battle was an intense one to say the least, within the first few seconds of the fight Mana was forced into his bankai and was still struggling despite Jishinmusume's protection. After a heated battle that lasted two human days the blow that finished the fight came from Mana and his zanpakuto, he was able to sever the mask from the face of the monster and force it to retreat. His small victory wasn't able to be celebrated as he took the mask right away and decided he still had a lot of work to do before he was at his limit, he could still go further and become stronger.

Zanpakutō Activation Statement | "Teach what it means to be unshakable, bring the world crumbling to your feet, cry out in anger and power, leave no stone upturned Jishinmusume."
Zanpakutō Blade Changes | When shikai is active the blade doesn't have any notable changes about it however as a passive ability the zanpakuto as well as the body of its user emit heavy vibrations at a constant rate, enough to crack any surface the user or the blade come into contact with. The blade itself is able to send vibration based shock waves through contact with other objects, such as clashing with another blade and sending vibrations through it to the arm of the user in question. The body of the user holds the same properties and is able to use touch to momentarily disable an opponents limb or at least forcibly knock them back.
Shikai Abilities

Kanakirigoe
Mana is able to concentrate the vibrations coursing through his body into a single high pitched sound, this note carries the shock waves with it and is able to create a devastating area of effect attack that is able to both deafen an opponent and break bones if they are caught within the visible sound vibrations being sent forward. The attack itself spans 100ft wide and 300ft long making it a very difficult attack to dodge, especially in a close range combat situation, the fact that it does not directly use the blade can make it even more deceptive and hard to read. The effects of the soundwaves weaken the further away one is, the closer the opponent the more damage to be expected from the attack, point blank being able to quite possibly break a multitude of bones in the enemies body. Shibire
Mana increases the power of the constant vibrations coursing through him for one attack, once his zanpakuto strikes the enemy, or the enemy zanpakuto all the welled up power will be transferred through his blade and into the affected area instantly rendering the limb unusable for a set limit of time. If somewhere other than a limb is struck they will be unable to feel the afflicted area for the same set limit of time and they will find their movement to be sluggish and slightly slower than normal as well. Hakushu
By focusing all his bodies vibrations into the palm of his hands he is able to clap together and create a giant shock wave in a 360° around himself pushing away incoming attacks and opponents with such force it would take an attack of equal or more power to break through it. The power of the ability itself is enough to completely crumble the ground around it compacting it into nothing but a crater at Mana's feet. The attack itself consumes a 50ft radius in a sphere around Mana when cast, anything closer than 50ft will be thrown back and suffer sever pain from the blunt force of the attack, possibly resulting in broken bones depending on how close the enemy was. Bankai Appearance | Once Mana activates his full connection with his zanpakuto he is granted the gauntlets of Jishinmusume, two large mechanical arms which emit incredibly powerful vibrations at an timeless level, even the air around the fists for 2ft are distorted from the sheer power of the shock waves being delivered, they add an area of effect blunt force to attacks. Mana is also granted the skewer of Jishinmusume, a mechanical tail which holds the same properties as the gauntlets, except the vibrations are not focused on blunt force and instead are able to slice anything within the 2ft vibrations.

Bankai Limitations |

Only one mechanic can be active at a time, either the gauntlet or skewer must be selected and there is a set cooldown when switching between the two. Once the skewer or gauntlets are selected the user is stuck with that mechanic for the alloted time period keeping the unchosen mechanic inactive and useless besides its normal properties. I.E. the gauntlets would still be large and powerful fists and the skewer still able to pierce opponents if they come to close and aren't fast enough to evade. Certain bankai abilities can only be activated depending on which mechanic is currently in use, some abilities being gauntlet specific while others are skewer specific. [4 Post Cooldown]

Bankai Strengths |

The vibrations being emitted are on an immeasurable level meaning no force is able to deter it, the vibrations constant can not be delayed by any means, therefore whichever mechanic is selected at that time its passive ability of 2ft vibrato is always active and never able to be disrupted by an outside force. Like an invisible field that is unable to be destroyed no matter what the means, until the bankai itself is sealed by Mana the vibrations will remain for whichever mechanic is active between the gauntlets or skewer.

Bankai Abilities

Hashira
Using the skewer mechanic Mana is able to break the tail into five different parts, all slimmer and the vibrations less intense when they are connected it adds for more versatility and maneuverability. The end of each tail sharp as a dagger, meaning five new ways to attack have been created for Mana, despite the power of the tail being cut into five. The tail can be pieced back together to create the whole once again whenever the user chooses however it'll be forcibly reconnected after a time limit has been reached. [3 Post Active] [8 Post Cooldown].

Doriru
Using the skewer mechanic Mana is able to spin the skewer rapidly making it seem more like a drill, with the added vibrations it becomes a deadly spire of attack, able to break through any surface with relative easy, as well as destroy human bodies like fodder if one lets it get close enough. The drilling motion is tough to control meaning it cannot remain active for a very long period of time, usually only working in a quick stabbing motion or to destroy oncoming debris. [6 Post Cooldown]

Noroshi
Using the gauntlet mechanic Mana is able to use an enhancement placed in the large fists which allows for them to be fired outward like a cannon, attached to a long cord emitting the same vibrations as the fists making them virtually untouchable as well. The fire rate is quick, they shoot and retract in the blink of an eye and give an impact able to break bones on a large scale, however they take some time before they can be prepared to launch again. They can also be manipulated easily and swung like flails in a fashion before being retracted back to the user giving them many different uses in battle. [4 Post Cooldown]

Bimu
By concentrating all the vibrations throughout both the mechanics and his body Mana is able to fire off two lasers streaming from both gauntlet palms, these lasers are 5ft by 5ft and can reach up to 400ft in length. The laser itself is a concentrated shockwave of vibrations with the ability to literally crush anything it comes into contact with, enough so to flatten a human body against any surface with its pushing strength. The beam can steadily stream for a total of 10sec before it begins to lose strength and dissipate. The attack is very taxing and takes some time to be able to store enough energy to use for a second blast. [6 Post Cooldown]

Shinigami Abilities

Zanjutsu | Mana is an unmatched swordsman in the defensive style, a unique way of fighting he donned claiming it to be the Turtle Technique, a type of blade work which involves almost only using a parry, his shikai doing the rest of the work for him, the vibrations being sent through both blades eventually rendering the opponents arm unusable to the point where they must withdraw from battle. By only ever using parrying he takes a very pacifistic outlook on battle, never aiming for fatal blows and instead forcing the opponent to submit and surrender, although it lacks true power it has been shown through his many milestones to be extremely effective in use.
Hakuda | Hand to hand combat is another area Mana excells in greatly due to the uniqueness of his zanpakuto's abilities, thanks to his shikai granting his blade and body constant vibrato his fist fighting holds the same merits as his swordsmanship except at a more efficient level as he is the true source of the shock waves being emitted and not his blade. Depending on the amount of vibration being sent through his body his open palm fighting style can go from numbing limbs and areas on the body to breaking bones, although he rarely escalates to such a level unless his opponent is able to overpower and possibly kill him, then he may be forced to send out his maximum strength.
Hohō | Being a mountain means speed is not exactly a strong suit for the Captain, he is possibly the slowest of all the other Gotei Elite when it comes to Hoho and the likes, he has never been a speedy individual although this does very little to deter him as he is like a human fortress, a structure of great strength and mass that can take its fair share of punishment on the field of battle. His Hoho is still apparent, however he is not quick, more of an adept in the field of speed, he has different priorities than the ability to be anywhere at once.
Durability | Durability is where Mana shines, although his zanpakuto does not truly focus on the body and its ability to take punishment he still has tough skin, although it feels and looks soft as a babes it's truly as rough as rocks, he is able to take a considerable amount of punishment thanks to this, of course a cut still bleeds, but a bruise might be harder to make happen, and broken bones can be a very difficult achievement against this man. His standard build for a man is deceiving as he is almost all muscle, and when he tenses his body he can take a blow, or three or four, with great ease.
Reiryoku | Being the Captain of the spiritual division Mana has possibly one of the highest Reiryoku levels in all of soul society only paling in comparison to the Soul King and the Captain Commander. Being renowned as the Grand Monk of soul society is not just a silly title, it was given to him for a reason. Being able to both manifest and fully communicate with his own zanpakuto, and even enter and speak with the zanpakuto of other shinigami are some special perks he has found himself with due to all his training and his high individual spiritual pressure.
