THE HUMAN_____________________________________________
Name : Corbin Vance
Nickname : Vance (Cory, Cor, Van, Vanny, etc are unacceptable)
Gender : Male
Age : 22
Occupation : Dish washer, though he would sort of like to be a cook
Hair Color/Style : Black, worn in a long, strictly kept ponytail.
Eye Color : Dark blue
Body Build : He's on the shorter side of average, and has a small frame. He works hard at it, but his build is not beneficial to developing muscle so he's stronger than he looks but he still doesn't look like much.
Fashion : Prefers neutral colors, often has his sleeves rolled up from work. He dresses for practicality over appearance, but his attire is always clean and unwrinkled.
Extra : His primary magic is in the water element, but he doesn't use it and is still outwardly skeptical about the existence of magic as he dislikes discussing his own.
Status : Single
Family :
xxxx Morris Vance || Father (deceased)
xxxx Kylee Vance || Mother
Personality :
Vance is cold and unfriendly, especially towards strangers. When it comes to a work environment he is neutrally polite to his superiors and, for the most part, to his coworkers and any customer-service type incidents. But only for the most part, because if they don't leave him be when he asks nicely, then his next words are going to be caustic and biting, or at least sarcastic. He can escalate to a physical altercation if poked at long enough, though he makes a good effort to keep a cool head he is not inclined to let someone else take a swing at him without suffering the repercussions.
He comes across as physically stiff, there is a tension in him that never really goes away when he's around people and he can seem easily startled due to his quick reactions to unexpected noises. He's always ready for something to go wrong, and he never seems to relax. While this is useful when things do go awry, the constantly being on-edge is definitely not good for his health. He's a ball of stress, and while he's currently 'handling it' he is definitely getting more waspish and quick to react with aggression the longer it goes on. He barely lets his guard down at home, needing to look after his mother who, he won't allow anyone else to comment about, simply isn't all there anymore.
While he isn't particularly nice with other people, he is very good at organization and planning and, when on a project, can do a decent job of coexisting to get the work done. So long as everyone does what they're supposed to and doesn't try to make chit-chat at him, he can be terse and calm(ish) and things can progress as needed. He actually enjoys making things be organized or clean, and will usually go the extra bit in making something or someplace look nice.
Though he isn't friendly, he has a faint protective streak when it comes to someone being hurt or picked on that he perceives as undeserving of the abuse. He feels a responsibility to help, grown from the guilt of when he was unable to help his father. He won't be particularly kind to them, but he will go after whoever his hurting them before telling the victim that they're an idiot and need to change whatever aspect of them was making them a target. Stop crying, stand up for themselves, don't let people walk all over them, etc. Anyone he 'looks after' will be expected to go away later, rather than sticking around. Vance doesn't want people to follow him around, he doesn't want people to be his 'friends', he doesn't trust anyone and, even more than his projected lack of faith in humanity, he is afraid that if he does let someone into his tiny world they'll only leave and hurt him again. His dad 'left', for which Vance blames himself for failing to save him, and after his father's death his mother 'left', if only mentally, and then when he turned into a jerk and pushed them away, his so-called friends even left him too. He is partially aware of it being his own fault, but the idea that if they really cared they might have seen through the charade and known how badly he needed them lingers still.
Likes : Cooking, reading, organizing things, fixing things, fresh clean scents, quiet, running, what's left of his family
Dislikes : People, loud noise, messiness, crowds, being lonely
