Roland and Daud are two friends who have escaped from the prison of Ecrin and need a ship to escape for good. Kind of dry so far but I felt I needed to write something since I haven't for a while. Please read and tell me how you like it!

Roland came up running fast in a crouched position and hid behind the same rock as Daud. “Are you ready Roland?” Daud asked. “Yes.” Roland replied, suspicious of what his companion might do. They both sat in a crouching position and got out their arrows. “Let’s go.” Daud whispered. They both stealthily slid out behind the rock still in crouching position they went under the cover of night. The northern lights accompanied them for light. Roland thought about them and admired their beauty, he always had. They were now fast approaching on the docks of Ecrin a city that never sleeps. Roland and Daud scurried down a slope of snow and hid behind a snowy box. Fire illuminated the docks and the people that stood there. The guards of Ecrin had huge burly armor that encompassed their entire body except for their faces. They were going to have to slip past which was almost impossible, or kill the men that stood before them. Roland knew the choice was obvious. “Listen Daud I know you want to kill them because...because of your son. But we cant theres to much they would overwhelm us.” Daud shot him a look of hatred that only lasted a second. Daud snarled at the comment and knew he was right. “Come on..but for caution load your crossbow.” Roland looked down at Dauds hands which had already been loading the bolts, Daud gave a nod then they exited behind their cover when they were both loaded. The dock was thick full of ice and snow which made Roland slip a few times only to have Daud catch him when he fell. They creeped on the packed snow leaving their feet imprinted, both of them pressed on slowly so not to alarm the guards of Ecrin.
