The rain was relentless, bathing the Zatao grasslands and making the terrain soggy. Lennyka breathed deeply, the smell of wet, fresh earth strong in the air. She trudged forward, her boots scrapping against dried patches of grass as she hugged her poncho closer to her form. Daffodil rushed ahead after her, jumping in puddles and giggling mirthfully to herself.
"Daffodil, this isn't the time to have fun," Lennyka warned her, though she was happy to see the Raichu happy. "We're on a mission -- keep your wits about you."
"Rai!" the Electric-type nodded with a salute before trundling off to splash into another puddle.
Rolling her eyes, the Rocket agent continued to follow her. After returning from her little vacation in northern Zatao, the higher-ups hit her with mission after mission to teach her a lesson. After she finished one and returned to the base for a little R&R, her communicator would vibrate with another assignment that needed to be completed. Unlike her other missions, this one was a small request: Head up to the grasslands and do some scouting. While it wouldn't take long -- a few hours of wandering about -- Lennyka had to get there by feet because she lacked a flying or land Pokemon to hitch a ride on.
The teal-haired agent stopped momentarily as a clap of thunder boomed across the wide expanse of area. "Crud," she cursed to herself. "This isn't going to let up, is it?"
"Raiii," Daffodil cooed as she sniffed the air, her cheeks cackling wildly. The storm was going to get worse.

"Hey! Daffodil, let's go and take shelter somewhere!" Lennyka cried out to the Electric-type. "There's gotta be a place that'll let us take a breather for a few!"
"Rai!" Daffodil replied as she hustled up to the Rocket agent and followed her.
Their trek wasn't long because Lennyka's presumptions were right. After a short run and a hop, skip, and jump from the Raichu, Lennyka and Daffodil came across the gated area of what appeared to be a breeder's private ranch. With the storm surging above, the Rocket agent didn't take the time to run around front and ask the trainer if they could bide their time for a bit. Instead, she climbed over the faded brown fencing and hustled to the barn a length away. Daffodil was hot on her heels.
Upon pulling the large door open and stepping inside with her companion, Lennyka caught her breath and raised her fallow eyes to a myriad of fluffed up Mareep cooped together in the building. They shot annoyed and suspicious frowns at the duo; a few cackling their wool in warning. As Lennyka stepped back, Daffodil stepped forward and released a small shock from her cheek. The jolt cackled through the group of Mareep and, one by one, their hard expression softened.
"Huh, what did you do, Daffodil?" Lennyka asked with a tilt of her head.
"Rai, rai, raichuuu," she explained.
"Oh, okay... You told them we were friendly. What a relief." The Rocket agent smeared away some water and it was not clear it if were sweat or rain. "Our lives our spared. So I guess we'll be staying here until the rain stops?"
"Rai," Daffodil affirmed.

Tentatively approaching the group, Lennyka settled herself right in the middle and flipped off the hood of her poncho. Daffodil dived into her lap and made herself comfortable, though the fit was a little jarring. Due to the thunderstorm raging above, the Mareep's wool had expanded greatly. Pushing at the thick lumps only rocked the sheep-like Pokemon and they "maah"ed in protest when she did.
"It would've been a good time for their owner to shear them..." Lennyka muttered to herself in frustration. "I guess we'll deal with the situation for now..."
"Raii..."
An hour trotted by and the storm was still lollygagging above. Lennyka was beginning to lose her patience because her communicator couldn't pick up any internet connection. You've got to be kidding me... she thought as she clicked the "connect" button for the hundredth time only to get message box mocking that her attempt was utterly futile and she should stop immediately. Ugh.

Lennyka pulled off her poncho and fixed her hair as she glared daggers at her communicator. Before Lennyka had a chance to chuck the device at the adjacent wall of the barn out of annoyance, the door to the building suddenly creaked. Everyone's attention was directed forward as a man gave the Mareep a crisp smile and said, "All right, feeding time, you guy-" Suddenly, the breeder's eyes widened and the pail of feed he held in his hand clattered to the ground. His eyes were pinned to the red R on Lennyka's left breast.
"T-T-T-Team-" he began to stammer.
Lennyka opened her mouth to greet him and explain herself, but upon following where he was looking and doing double-takes to affirm he was looking at the Rocket logo, did the agent jump to her feet and interject a finger at the man. Daffodil rolled off of her and blinked a few times before realizing what was happening. Happily, she bounced to her feet and mimicked Lennyka's stance.
In unison, the two recited:
"Prepare for trouble... And make it double! Rai! To infect the world with devastation! To unite all peoples within our nation! Rai, rai, rai! To denounce the goodness of truth and love! To extend our reach to the stars above! Lennyka! Raichu, rai! We're Team Rocket, circling Earth all day and all night! Surrender now or prepare to fight! Rai, rai!"

"T-T-Team ROCKET!" the man finally shouted when the two's motto was over.
Lennyka facepalmed. "Why doesn't anyone get the timing right?" she sighed before glaring at him. "You're supposed to shout, "Team Rocket" beforehand!"
Unfortunately, appealing to Lennyka's desire was from the man's concern now. The ranch's owner was already frozen stiff. Shooting a finger at the Rocket, he shouted, "M-Mimi, Ayabelle, Bobbie Sue! Thunderbolt!"
Lennyka blinked as three of the man's Mareep jumped from Lennyka and growled with anger. The Rocket agent couldn't see the danger in their cuteness. "What're they going to do? Blow me out of here?"
"Maaaa...reeeep!" She shouldn't have taunted them. The power of the three sheep Pokemon combined, fizzling and crackling as the bolt formed to a singular point aimed at Lennyka and Daffodil. The fear that encompassed their features and their attempt to flee was futile because the triple jolt buzzed their bodies stiff. The explosion that followed flicked them airborne and they were flung through the roof of the barn and off into the stormy sky.
