Actually, I haven't posted any pics of my son online yet. I haven't decided yet whether I should at all. What if on some future date he doesn't want to have his childhood photos available online? Would I be doing something irreversible here? What about his privacy and ability to choose what he shares?

But then what if I make the cutest baby video ever? Do I give up my sons privacy for the chance at YouTube fame?

Or is it not even that big a deal and I would simply be spreading some joy in this world?

Yes, I'd say being a parent does make you a bit paranoid xd

Yeah, that's a tough problem. I'm glad I grew up when I did because I didn't have to worry about most of the online stuff that kids now have to deal with. Most parents don't think anything of posting stuff with their kids on it but you never know how things will turn out on the internet.

I'd say it's fine to post it wherever until they come of age where they don't like it anymore and then offer to take it down. The alternative is to do it more discretely by uploading it into a private photo sharing site and showing specific pictures in PMs or more secluded areas like our guild.
