  • Kunai Toteki Jutsu [Kunai Throwing Technique]
    Rank: E
    Type: Bukijutsu | Basics
    Description:
Kunai are primarily a melee weapon, used in much the same fashion as a combat knife. Despite this however, many shinobi utilize them as a throwing weapon. Their heavy blade and sharp tip make them effective at a fair distance when a stronger impact is needed than a simple shuriken can achieve. Without practice however, the kunai will not fly accurately, and may even strike hilt first, nullifying the effectiveness of the weapon. Masters of this technique are able to accurately throw their kunai, and learn more advanced ways to do so later on by building on the principles of basic throwing.

~ D Rank ~

  • Senbon Jutsu [Senbon Technique]
    Rank: D
    Type: Bukijutsu | Basics
    Description:
More difficult than the more basic weapons, throwing senbon is a precision art. First, the user must be able to make them fly. The senbon is light, and must be thrown very precisely to even fly, or it will be knocked about by the air and wind. Next, because the weapon is so small, it must be thrown at very specific points on the body, requiring a high level of accuracy. Only a master of this technique can throw senbon with the accuracy required to hit the pressure points they are designed to pierce.

  • Chokyujutsu [Longbow Technique]
    Rank: D
    Type: Bukijutsu | Basics
    Description:
Learning to properly wield and fire a longbow isn't all that difficult. Being able to accurately strike what you're aiming for however, takes more practice. Masters of this technique are able to use any bow class weapon efficiently, and also learn more advanced skills using their bow.

  • Chakra Ken [Chakra Blade]
    Rank: D
    Type: Bukijutsu | Supplementary
    Description:
By concentrating chakra around an object, usually a bladed weapon, the user creates a second blade of the same length along the weapon. This blade is razor sharp, and able to cut through almost anything not protected by it's own chakra coating, including some softer metals such as tin, gold, and low quality iron such as that used for kunai and shuriken. Being made of chakra also allows weapons covered by this jutsu to interact with non-solid chakra constructs. This jutsu can only be used on objects held in the user's hand, and the jutsu ends if contact with the weapon is lost. Costs an additional point of chakra every other post to maintain after three posts.

  • Nibui Ha [Dull Edge]
    Rank: D
    Type: Bukijutsu | Supplementary
    Description:
At times, a swordsman must avoid killing their opponent, be it in training, or a capture. With bladed weapons, this becomes difficult, and even dangerous to attempt as the swordsman is forced to hold back their full strength. To avoid that, this jutsu was created. By running their hand along the length of a blade, the jutsu user is able to create a layer of chakra over the blade's edge. This chakra layer is blunt, and stops the blade from cutting the target. This jutsu can be applied to any bladed weapon, but can only be applied through physical contact. However, the jutsu will not dissipate when contact is broken, making it possible to apply this jutsu to an opponent's blade as well. The base price of D ranked chakra will keep the jutsu active for three posts, but additional chakra can be used when forming the jutsu to make the effect last longer, for three posts per point of chakra paid.

  • Kage Shuriken [Shadow Shuriken]
    Rank: D
    Type: Bukijutsu | Offensive
    Description:
An advanced throwing technique, this technique can only be used if the user has mastered the basics of the weapon used. This technique is deceptively simple, and most often used as a diversion. The user must throw two identical weapons simultaneous, positioning the second weapon such that it's trajectory follows the shadow of the other projectile. By doing this, the weapon appears to the target as if the weapon itself were simply the shadow of the other, giving the user the element of surprise with the second weapon.

  • Kage Buyou [Shadow Dance]
    Rank: D
    Type: Taijutsu | Supplementary
    Description:
When an opponent is in midair, be it from being thrown by an attack or simply jumping, the user is able to perform their own jump, following the target's trajectory. By doing so they are able to place themselves parallel to their target in midair, such that uninterrupted they would follow the target through their entire arc. This makes the technique an excellent lead in to many aerial attacks while the target is unable to maneuver well.

  • Buredo Ranna [Blade Runner]
    Rank: D
    Type: Taijutsu | Supplementary
    Description:
Balance is one of the many traits all shinobi are trained in. The average ninja can easily balance on a point of only a few inches, or run along a tightrope. The art of blade running takes that skill to the next stage. Masters of this technique train themselves to balance perfectly on the smallest points possible, right down to the point of a needle. These ninja can easily walk along a suspended length of ninja wire, or even the length of a sword without difficulty.

~ C Rank ~

  • Kado Toteki [Card Throwing]
    Rank: C
    Type: Bukijutsu | Basics
    Description:
A more complicated technique than most ninja bother with, card throwing is a difficult art to master. A card, held rigid, can be as deadly a weapon as a shuriken, if thrown properly. Of course, being made of paper, cards are prone to flapping about in the wind, meaning most of the time they won't even reach their target, much less cut them. After learning the proper methods however, a person can throw a card, or any other rigid paper or light thin object similar to it, in such a way that it cuts through the air unhindered, and cuts their target.

  • Torikku Shotto [Trick Shot]
    Rank: C
    Type: Bukijutsu | Offensive
    Description:
To perform this technique, the user must have mastered the basics of the throwing weapon used. The technique itself is deceptively simple, but highly difficult to actually perform. By throwing two weapons, at slightly different speeds and trajectories, the user causes them to collide in midair. Far from throwing the weapons off by this collision, the second weapon alters the trajectory of the first, redirecting it to fly in another direction. The part of this technique that requires the most practice and skill, is in timing the position and angle of the collision to make the first weapon strike a target. This technique can be used to strike a target that could not normally be hit from your current position due to the angle, or to surprise a target by hitting them from an unexpected direction. The skills learned for this technique can also be used to redirect another's weapons to strike a target of your own choice.

  • Hayabusa Otoshi [Peregrine Falcon Drop]
    Rank: C
    Type: Taijutsu | Offensive
    Description:
A rather brutal grappling move, best used in midair. The move is performed by catching an opponent by the ankles and wrapping the legs around the opponent's torso to capture their arms and hold them straight out. The move concludes by driving the target head first into the ground, with the intended result of snapping the target's neck for an instant kill.

  • Houshou [Crushing Palm]
    Rank: C
    Type: Taijutsu | Offensive
    Description:
Grounding their body firmly, the user pushes forwards, driving the entire force of their weight and strength into a single palm thrust. This creates an impact strong enough to off balance the opponent, sending them flying away from the user if the user is strong enough and doing some serious damage in the process.

  • Asshou [Pressure Palm]
    Rank: C
    Type: Taijutsu | Offensive
    Description:
When the opponent is on the ground, the user places all their strength and weight into a downwards palm thrust, striking the target with all the force their body can muster. Between the strength of the user, and the resistance of the earth, this can result in a devastating amount of damage.

  • Shougekishou [Rising Impact Palm]
    Rank: C
    Type: Taijutsu | Offensive
    Description:
Beginning with a grappling move, the user must be holding the target in the air with one hand. Lifting the target as high as they can reach, the user then releases them, while simultaneously using their second hand for an upward palm thrust aimed to catch the opponent as they fall. This double sided impact can break bones and even cause internal damage if it hits strongly enough. With enough strength, this move can also throw the target back up into the air, possibly leaving them open for further attacks.

    Type: Taijutsu | Offensive
    Description:
Bracing against the ground, the user lifts one leg, driving their knee upwards with as much force as possible into their target. This technique is usually combined with a grappling move or charge for maximum effect, and can deal a fair amount of damage if it hits well.

  • Tokken [Tackle Charge]
    Rank: C
    Type: Taijutsu | Offensive
    Description:
Utilizing speed and forward motion, the user charges their enemy, slamming into them shoulder first with all of their strength and weight behind them. This can be used as an attempt to overpower a blocking maneuver, to remove someone blocking your path while running, or to simply slam straight into someone to deal some damage. The technique is most effective when the target is up against a wall, as it becomes a literally crushing blow.

    Rank: C
    Type: Taijutsu | Offensive
    Description:
Requiring quite the flexibility, this technique has the ability in some cases to end a fight as quickly as it began. Lifting the dominant leg into the air, the user performs a vertical front kick which acts as a feint. In truth, the leg is extended upwards past this point, so that the leg is parallel with the chest and head. As swiftly as it was brought up, the leg is brought down with great force, driving the heel into the opponents skull on the way down. With enough force, the technique is able to crack skulls, however even still the attack at its weakest is rather debilitating. With reward comes great risk however, and the ease with which this attack leaves one open to attack is no exception.

~ B Rank ~

  • Shukuchi [Reduced Earth]
    Rank: B
    Type: Taijutsu | Supplementary
    Description:
Bracing their body for optimum grip on the ground, the user pushes themselves off with all the force they can muster. With practice, this has the effect of accelerating the user to their maximum speed instantaneously, in a very small space. That makes this technique good for a variety of things, particularly performing attacks that utilize large amounts of speed, and outrunning opponents who must accelerate normally.
